Good for you for standing up for yourself. That is ridiculous! It looked like you were driving down pothole filled dirt road. Unfortunately GM doesn't care about it's customers, as recent evidence - the GM recall cover up that killed so many people, over a very cheap to replace part. Hi, I have faced the same issue but even worse in my 2014 GMC Sierra single cab to the point that my passenger seat became lose and started making those annoying noises, i have tried changing the rims tires and do balancing in 5 diffrent places,non of them worked, BUT i have found out something, i have been told that in order for gm to keep an affordable price for the 2014 pick ups they have installed some minor shitty parts and one of them is the RANCHO shock absorbers, i have replaced that with BILSTIEN and now 90% of the vibration is gone, car is riding smoother then ever, i shall recommend you to install these, but these shocks are not for hardcore offroad use , its more of street comfort.

I can assure you that I will never buy another GM product again. My 2011 Cadillac SRX hit bumps like a brick, fell apart and had a major sunroof leak where the drain hose disconnected inside the pillar, a common issue with those. I now have a 2014 Silverado and the freakin' frame is rusted to shit! I thought the frames were dipped into a bath of sealer and rust treatment before assembly... My truck has the same vibration issue as this, but not as much around the same speed. While the truck does have a great ride and its very quiet, it DOES NOT come with an auto dimming mirror! WHAT!!! It's a $42,000 truck, it should come with nothing but AD mirrors. EDIT: I also forgot to mention I had to have the entire steering rack replaced because it came loose and was banging when I turned left. I was told by my mechanic not to drive the truck because its possible the rack could separate and cause an accident due to lack of steering capability. I'm done with GM from this point forward.

If it is a single cab truck they all have a slight vibration I have a 2010, and it has always done that. I have also had a 1999 gmc sierra z71 single cab and it did the same thing. Usually the longer the frame the less bumps and noise, because the bumps are absorbed by the greater surface area; however I would be concerned if I just spent 25k on a new truck and it did that.

keakar63 "2014 GMC Sierra drive line vibration" check this out it is a video on youtube. It seems like it might be a problem with the new drive shafts I think they went to an all aluminium one for the new trucks, and I noticed a small plate on the fount of the drive shaft, and it looks similar to a balancing method like balancing a tire. It looks like it might be the culprit, and it would make since. If this is the case they will issue a recall for it at a later date, after they find the supplier in the supply chain that manufactured the drive shafts.
@keakar6310 жыл бұрын
Robert Garrett yep, but its the 4wd with aluminum drive shafts, my 2wd is steel. there are like 6 or 7 things that fix "some" trucks but not all and its the rear end itself, drive shafts, transmission, rear end gears, rear axle shafts, and some are just bad tires or rims so you see reports of "fixes" but its only one out of 50 trucks that that part being replaced fixes.
@keakar6310 жыл бұрын
well rust is an issue with the 2013's but the 2014's and now the 2015's its this vibration which is the worst but there are also so many other issues like the radio not working, yes the radio !!! it gets lost between HD and regular radio and keeps cutting out and losing stations but the got rid of the HD radios for 2015. just google it and there are soo many issues with these trucks and there have been somewhere around 30 recalls on it for everything, even small things don't work on these trucks. one of my favorites is the transmission shifts itself into neutral by itself while its sitting in your driveway overnight. really nice to wake up to find your truck rolled into the yard next door or the ditch across the street while you were sleeping.

This might be just my truck but after I put a leveling kit in it and got it aligned, it doesn't vibrate anymore at any speed. Now just stupid rattles and random rough idles.
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
+tyltong123 personally I think its because they raised the truck up so high, then raised the back end up even higher, that's its like a sail in the wind and when you go fast enough the wind resistance makes it start shaking. it kinda makes sense that if you level it then it would have less wind resistance and shake less. that's not the whole reason but im sure it has something to do with it on some trucks. people who have lowered and leveled their trucks to "normal" height off the ground also report that "most" of the vibrations have gone away for them as well
@joshuacarter77297 жыл бұрын

hey there you guys that have 2015 silverado its the v4 mode that makes the truck vibrate you can do one of two thing ... one is drive the truck in manual up to 5th gear or go get a EDGE CS2 SUPER CHIP and turn afm off this is much better in V8 mode only no vibrations as per gm they wont do anything about it its part of there fuel management system for best fuel consumption the EDGE CS2 is around 700 buck best thing ever for this truck also tightens up the shifts and i have after market exhaust twinned out from a magnaflow truck sounds great like a truck should
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
+Oliver Biermann the "main" vibration issue is NOT related to the v4 mode even though if your truck has v4 mode switching issues it does cause "some" vibration issues. there are about a dozen different things that cause the vibration issues and a few can be fixed if they are not related to the design defect. in those cases people think they found the vibration fix for the truck when in reality they had a different vibration issue from the design defect and that is why they solved their vibration issues. many solve the problem with any of the following, rigging the v4 mode by tying it open or by using a chip and reprograming/ replace drive shaft/ replace rear end/ replace rear end ring gears/ replace suspension/ lift or lower truck with all new suspension/ new tires and rims. and every one of these guys think they solved the problem when they didn't, they only had a different vibration problem with their truck

well I cant say for certain as there are soo many problems with these that a little rust is the last thing on anyones mind but I don't notice any rusting as of yet. they started shipping the frames somewhere else to get them coated and to keep them from rusting until then they sprayed oil on them and shipped by train so if it rained the oil washed off and they painted over the rust or they didn't clean the oil off good and the paint never stuck and peeled off letting it rust. either way they still use the same process today so im sure there are still some with rust issues. at least yours doesn't share all the mechanical problems.

I have a 2011 Silverado z71 that has the same issues at the same speed shakes at around 55 but gets bad around 65 and up I had some play in my hubs changed them out and rotors new brakes same issue so now I can't find and front end issues I am thinking it's the driveshaft they can get a slight bend not seen to the eye and cause this issue I'm gonna get my machine shop buddy to use his lathe tools on it to check for low and high spots I suggest anyone having this issue to do the same GM isn't as good as they used to be after the 07-13 Silverado paper thin dash cracking issue they wanted to not fix I'm highly upset with them and I'm a die hard Chevy fan

Sorry for your vibration issue. With that said I owned a 2014 regular cab 2wd with 0 issues.... And now a 2015 double cab z71 still 0 issues..... Your accusations about frames being shipped by train with oil on them and what ever is false sorry but that's a load of bs the amount of frames being manufactured in different plants EVERYWHERE makes it highly unlikely train is the main source of transportation.... Also your accusations of Every truck having these issues is also false...... Hope you get your truck fixed. Or replaced..

Charlie Wilton IV well GM itself admitted the rusty frames were because they used an outside contractor to coat the frames and in court documents admitted they may have been exposed to "high levels of moisture" and not protected before arriving which "may" have contributed to the coatings not sticking when applied since they were shipped on open flatbed rail cars. are you just one of those people who go around denying things just because you don't want to believe them? as for the claim "every truck has this issue" once again you wish to "imagine things" because I said 1 out of every 5 trucks has this issue and GM itself has admitted it only has an 80% satisfaction rate with buyers of 2014 trucks and last time I checked 20% complaining of vibration issues was one out of five trucks. but people like you just believe what they want to believe.

Please cite your facts... I'm open to believing but with the amount of he said she said bs about every manufacture.... And please don't stereotype me for disagreeing with something you might have said....

Charlie Wilton IV already cited, my facts are supplied and admitted to by GM, go read the frame rust lawsuit documents and go look at customer satisfaction ratings that state only 4 out of 5 people are satisfied with their trucks and the reasons they give for not being satisfied. then go to any GM, FORD, DODGE, or TOYOTA dealership around and count the number of brand new 2014 and now even 2015 GM trucks in the used truck parking lot with under 10k miles on them. its not my job to convince you so if you are interested in this then do your own research, its all there if you care to look.

Will do.. Check out all the issues with every manufacture to and sadly pick and choose which ones you think are not that bad....

Charlie Wilton IV well if you care about my opinion, with everything I read about them, the ram is the truck with the least reported problems and complaints with Toyota and FORD tied for second best

first you are in a truck wheels are a bit different then a car or minivan second you have a bench seat there will always be vibration. don't buy Chevy's or GMC if u have an issue with them and you are breaking the law by playing on ur phone or camera so stop breaking a law and put your phone done.
