I had a great deal on a brand new 2015 Reg Cab, short bed 2WD but on the test drive it vibrated like yours. Sales guy said he would have tires balanced and I could test again. They did and still vibrated. Since they only did front tires, they said they would do all four. Next day came back, same vibration. Walked away from a great deal. They said it is normal and I could not believe they would say such a thing. Told me I could drive another truck and would see it there too.You have got to be kidding me!I really liked the truck and $7,000.00 off the MSRP was a great deal to pass up.Too bad, so glad I noticed it BEFORE I bought it.As info, I had tested a 2014 with 15k miles on it and it too was vibrating, since it was used I chalked it up to abuse of some sort. However, this truck was new.Unbelievable.Glad you got your money back.

I have the same problem. Lone Star Chevrolet says no issues found.... This truck is a 2014 Silverado 1500 double cab long bed... They said it may not have been balanced properly... They attempted to fix it and damaged my wheels! They were all scratched and curb checked... They won't do anything for me. Mine shakes like crazy at 70MPH and up. Then to test I drove at 80+ and it starts humming. My truck has 34k now and they won't do anything. Soon warranty will be up and I'll be stuck with it... I have a 1500 crewcab SLT GMC and it's been vibrating between 40 and 50 mph since I bought it less than a year ago. I recently had the tires rotated and balanced, thinking that was probably it, but it did no good. I traded in my 2010 Chevy Silverado for this one and it was smooth as silk, same LS2 goodyear tires. Sadly I have put up with this for 15k miles. I just hate going to the dealer and it's only for that 10mph range so I've put up with it. Glad to see I'm not the only one, but now the hassle with the dealer and GM ensues.....

You mentioned having won a case against Chevrolet/GM. I'm working on a similar matter, with another 2014 Silverado. Can you share in what court the case was filed? I'm hoping to read the complaint, etc.
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
been too long now but it was filed in new Orleans, that's the best I can do. hope it helps you but make a video and you have to do the required number of repair attempts through GM first to qualify to file. be careful what you say because they will try to distort any comment you make and use it against you. keep your complaint consistant and short and to the point and don't be social with them and be sure to insist the paperwork reads correctly that its the same exact problem each and every time. they tried to trick me by asking about other stuff and tried to put different reasons for bringing it in on the service tickets so it wouldn't count as being brought in for the same complaint. in one case I made the mistake of saying the radio also faded in and out too much and that is what they put down as the only reason I brought it in so had to go back and call for the dealership manager to get the paperwork done correctly after they said they couldn't change the paperwork after the ticket was printed out. I got it changed before I left so don't trust them, they are actively working with GM against you to prevent a lemon law claim no matter how nice and polite they act to your face.
@jeffthomasperry8 жыл бұрын
When you refer to a "complaint" that was "filed," are you referring to a lawsuit that was filed in a court? Or are you referring to a complaint with the BBB or some other agency? If a lawsuit was filed in a court, I should be able to access it. If you have copies from your attorney, would you mine looking up the case number? Thanks again for all your help.
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
yes, I filed lemon law lawsuit in civil court using lemon law lawyer. if you go through arbitration with GM they will deny your claim and then use any admission you make in the arbitration hearing against you in civil court. by going straight to civil court they don't know your case ahead of time and be able to try to argue any details to cloud the issue. make a video clearly showing the truck acting in a way you claim is unacceptible and then do the required repair attempts needed before you qualify for filing a BBB lemon law claim. talk to a lemon law lawyer near you and discuss your case with him. every state has different rules about how lemon law works and the requirements to qualify

It goes away when I get further down that road, always. The road looks smooth. Anyway, I glad you won your case. My question is, how can you make the statement that 1 in 5 GM trucks have this problem? I disagree with that unless you have substaicial evidence of that, which I seriously doubt. I'm 64 years old and have been driving Chevrolets since I was 18. I don't think that there are going out of business either.
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
GM, (you know them guys?) well they themselves publicly printed customer complaints from all trucks sold in America in 2014 and 2015 and that report clearly stated that 1 in 5 new truck owners were not happy with their truck and of those who reported complaints, 98% of those complaints were about vibration issues that continue even after repair attempts. its GMs own numbers that say its 1 out of 5 are having vibration issues, not mine. I used to be a lifelong chevy guy forever and had a chevy truck all my life. and there are always issues with a certain number of trucks being made by any company and wanted to give them that benefit too until I learned just how bad the response was when I had a problem AND that they will refuse to stand behind their products and fix it or replace it. had they simply done that and acted as any "reputable" company is expected to, then I might still be a chevy fan, now im very leary of trusting them. they actually had the nerve to stand there with a straight face and tell me "all trucks shake and vibrate like that, its perfectly normal" and then told me there was nothing that needed to be fixed oin my truck so they were done trying and if I wasn't happy, that's my problem.
@playzfahdayz6 жыл бұрын
I paid $46,000 for my truck and it's had very similar vibration issues. @@MichelLinschoten I see you tamed down your original response. If you knew about these trucks then you'd know that the problems thousands of them are having from 0 miles on is related to the 6L80 transmission (particularly ones made in Mexico), faulty software in the TCM, and the faulty torque converter used on a particular range of production runs. I have 2 other trucks with 4L60 and 4L60E and they are good transmissions. The setup in this particular truck, however, is not. Additionally, we're not talking about 200k miles, we're talking off the line brand new trucks, or trucks experiencing multiple issues from 0-40k miles.

@keakar6310 жыл бұрын
I got mine from best Chevrolet and throughout the whole process the service dept lied and denied everything and was as deceptive as they could be. they have the best prices there but they also act like con artists after your purchase wanting to never admit anything is wrong with it or help you in any way. this video was after the vibrations were improved after several attempts and these guys riding in this truck say it doesn't vibrate at all, need I say more about their honesty or integrity?
@keakar6310 жыл бұрын
keakar63 they also use your truck to run errands and pick up and deliver parts all in the name of "road testing the truck" and they have to send the trucks to the tire place down the street to get them balanced because they are too cheap to get their road force balance machine fixed, one of the mechanics there told me it has been broken for over a year. every time they worked on my truck they put 165 miles on it then 75 miles and the last time they put 198 miles on it. I find that excessive for any reasonable test drive just as any normal person would but they also said putting hundreds of miles on trucks to "road test" them is "normal.

keakar63 Hey thank you for your responses. i currently have a 2011 4.8l engine in my silverado and always had problems with the passenger seats rattling during all speeds. I had the same issues with Best Chevy never doing anything about it. I am really close to trading this truck in for the 2014 5.3l with the 3.42 gear ratio but all of the forums were really scaring me off. i read a lot in the other forums and it did seem like a lot of people who were having the vibration issue had the 3.08. Also, it seemed like a good bit of them had a 4x4. Like you said the price of this new truck really seems like a good deal, but i don't want to constantly have the feeling that something is going to go wrong any minute
@keakar6310 жыл бұрын
EUGENE LEFEVRE im not saying its the 308 gears, all trucks and all gears seam to have the vibrations. when I suggested the 342 gears it was strictly as far as the way the truck responds when pressing the gas pedal. right now I wouldn't let anyone I know buy a GM truck right now weather its chevy or GMC and the 2016's are going to be another redesign with first year 8 speed trannys and other stuff so if your truck isn't falling apart, keep it and wait until 2017 to look at the trucks again and see if they have fixed these and any new issues they find with the new 2016's. otherwise if you want a new truck now maybe look at ford or dodge. its not about brand loyalty or im mad at GM for screwing me but its just about the best trucks with the least problems being sold today are ford and dodge or toyota

hey there you guys that have 2015 silverado its the v4 mode that makes the truck vibrate you can do one of two thing ... one is drive the truck in manual up to 5th gear or go get a EDGE CS2 SUPER CHIP and turn afm off this is much better in V8 mode only no vibrations as per gm they wont do anything about it its part of there fuel management system for best fuel consumption the EDGE CS2 is around 700 buck best thing ever for this truck also tightens up the shifts and i have after market exhaust twinned out from a magnaflow truck sounds great like a truck should
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
+Oliver Biermann the "main" vibration issue is NOT related to the v4 mode even though if your truck has v4 mode switching issues it does cause "some" vibration issues. there are about a dozen different things that cause the vibration issues and a few can be fixed if they are not related to the design defect. in those cases people think they found the vibration fix for the truck when in reality they had a different vibration issue from the design defect and that is why they solved their vibration issues. many solve the problem with any of the following, rigging the v4 mode by tying it open or by using a chip and reprograming/ replace drive shaft/ replace rear end/ replace rear end ring gears/ replace suspension/ lift or lower truck with all new suspension/ new tires and rims. and every one of these guys think they solved the problem when they didn't, they only had a different vibration problem with their truck

has anyone found the cause of the vibration? I have an 04 and mine is doing this. ive replaced everything I could and was told that would fix it but it still vibration starting at 60mph.
@sproulman17 жыл бұрын
You have transmission shutter ..usually between 42-55 mph on light acceraltion..If fluid change does not work you need a new TC..If it starts after your fluid is warmed up and not cold at first run that is clear indication on bad TC.....If TC flush/replacement does not cure it is in computer on programing ..Some are buying after market programs to cure it ....

Tc is what transmission or transfer case?
@jeffdix11076 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify that by TC, you are referring to Torque Converter?

bought new 2014 Silverado 2wd last year, less than 16,000 miles on it as of 03,09,16. from day one of purchase I noticed the same vibration. I thought it was just stiff, tight, maybe just needed to be run some? less than 16,000 miles later I still have same vibration. it hasn't gotten any worse or better although I have noticed if I drive it in manual shift rather than auto, the vibration nearly goes away completely. as many complains as I have seen here from all you guys, no way am I going threw the hassle of running back / forth to service center, I can live with it? rather have my chevy than a ford or even worse a dodge anyday.

Mine does the same thing. Dealership blamed it on the Goodyear tires. I love my Chevy. However I should have known better than to buy a brand new model when they change things.

My 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT does the same vibration after i had the U-joints, Front axles and Bearings replaced and new weeels that are balanced and it still happens. What else could it be??
@keakar638 жыл бұрын
in your case, if you had no vibration before the repairs, then I think its most likely a result that they messed up when replacing the u-joints. when you replace the u-joints, the yoke looks the same on both sides but it has a "slight" offset to it and if the shaft wasn't marked to ensure it was installed bat with the same orientation, then it will cause it to have a vibration. but since you also changed wheels, they might also be the cause so put your old wheels and tires back on to test if that is your issue, if not then have them flip the yoke and reinstall the u-joint.
@michaelquinones86188 жыл бұрын
look into your slip yoke, it needs to be regreased or the drive shaft needs to be replaced or balanced.

@skyisdlimit61257 жыл бұрын
If you look at GM forums so many of them have the same issue and most already tried changing tires and all the basic precautions. One of the solution was fixing the drive shaft but why is it that Chevy engineers can't come up with a simple solution and wait for their customers to keep looking for a solution then deny them that there's a problem. It reminds me of the key ignition switch scandal where they waited till several people die cause of it.

The problem with these trucks is GM is still using AAM driveshafts and they are shit. If you are lucky and don't have the shake it is because you got lucky with a AAM driveshaft or you have a Spicer (Dana) driveshaft. The AAM driveshafts are not balanced correctly from the manufacture. If you take it to a good driveshaft shop they will balance it and the problem with the Chevy shake is fixed.

I've owned a 2014 silverado crew cab, standard box with the same vibration issues. took it to the dealer 4 times. the shimmed the center bearing, tried adjusting pinion angles. all this did was move the vibration up and down on the speed spectrum. I ended up getting in an accident. I them test drive a 2016. seemed good and them at about 10k miles, the same vibration came in at about 70 mph. I lived with it for about 30 k miles. put it on a Dyno today. Drive shaft broke off at the differential u-joint. there is something VERY BAD about these 2 piece drive shafts. unfortunately it will probably take someone getting killed to get Chevrolet to open its eyes. Buyer Beware. I have pics of the damage. I may be contacting Chevrolet or writing them a letter of concern.

I have the same problem they first replaced the torque converter and it still was vibrating and I took it to the dealer today and they told me they were going to put some kind of mounts on the truck they said the 4cyl mode is causing the vibration and the mounts that there going to put in are supposed to fix the problem but idk I have had ALOT of issues with my truck at first when I would turn left it would make a popping noise and so I took it to the dealer and the service manager went on a ride with me and said it was normal and I insisted that it wasn't so after I got fed up with them I pulled it in the shop were I work and the control arm bolts were loose and then after I went back to the dealer and bitch at them that there technicians were shitty workers so I got an alignment done by them for free since the bolts were loose and messed up the alignment then at 10,000 miles I got a loud screeching sound in the front and the back I took it to the dealer and they said it was normal, that the reason it did that was because it was cold outside and then again I went to the dealer more then 3 times I lost count but they kept saying it was normal I was really pissid off and told them you guys better replace them and trust me I didn't say it nice so they brough took it in the shop and they first smeared a lot of grease on the sway bar bushing and try to say they fixed the problem and the first day I brought it home SCREEECH I was pissed and took it back to the dealer and this time we made a scene at the dealer and so then they replace the bushings for sure but after I got my truck back I saw that they put grease on the bushings agin so I never went back and the back screech I couldn't duplicate it to them but showed them videos of it but I took it to another dealer for the vibration issue and they ask me what else the other dealer replace and I told them the bushings and so they look At it and they to said there was a lot of grease on the bushings and believe they never replace the bushings so I'm just not going to drive the truck anymore after I get it back I'm not sure to try to claime it as a lemon vehicle now that the truck has 26,000 miles on it I'm just mad that a brand new truck has that many problems I bought New truck for a reason and the reason was not to have any issues with my vehicle o and now the AC button sometime won't work when I try to turn it on

I wonder if it could be the driveshaft out of phase.? I have heard that if for some reason the driveshaft is removed and then not put back in the exact same spot as it was removed that it can create a complete drivetrain vibration. That vibration can be felt through the whole truck and will at certain speeds become worse.
@ljkeeley66869 жыл бұрын
+Richard Martens you are definitely on the right path.. its either the drive shaft out of balance or the rear end

Ok... Now you have a vibration problem! Some of these dudes bottles only have the water rippling but your damn bottles are shaking, now that's vibration. My 2017 sierra is smooth as glass so I think maybe a bad batch got out and it costs too much to fix the problem. 1% of 1 million does not constitute a recall or fix especially if safety isn't involved, I work in a manufacturing facility so I'm familiar with how this goes. Either way, see if they will put you in another truck... keep testing them til you find one you like.

My truck also. McKenzie GMC has had my truck for a month. They feel the vibration and have acknowleded GM engineers are working on the issue. They have told me that it was at first a fuel mangement issue, then a tire balance issue and now they are replacing all the body mounts. I will also be using Florida Lemon Law if it is not resolved. I paid $36k for my truck, GM better believe i also will not put up with this bullshit.

Jarvis Bradley the only thing that works is to buy a different non GM truck. start your lemon law process and in about a year your lawyer should get your money back and you can put this behind you. I would suggest you stop driving it or they will claim that you using it proves the truck is working fine so go buy a replacement truck. its up to you if you just want to eat an $8-$10k loss to just trade it in on a different brand and not bother with the lemon process. I cant afford to take such a loss so I just have to wait it out and I now drive an 04 Tacoma as my DD truck.
