2014 Silverado Custom

So I decided to tackle long awaited project of opening up my tail lights to color match them.
Oven at 270°, put the light in there for 10 minutes to start. After opening them make sure to remove all the rubber butyl from the light to make it easier on assembling it.
I used rustoleum spray paint
2 coats of primer
2 coats of white gloss
2 coats of black gloss
2 coats of clear gloss

I agree but I bought these used from ebay and they had the oem Anzo smoked lense. I would have prefer the clear lens but for the price I got them for I won't complain.

For future reference, use a heat gun and clean out the old butyl, then stretch the new butyl around the frame edge, with the heat gun get the butyl soft, place your lens over the warm butyl in place and put them back in the oven at 220 degrees for 10 minutes, it will get the butyl soft enough for the lens to seal.

This is the setup I would like to do, went to website, so many options I just don't know. I would also like to change out the LEDs for brighter ones or a drl bar of some type.

It would be to difficult to switch leds for brighter ones as they are on a circuit board. You might be able to add some type of DRL with a separate power wire

Was thinking of doing a strip of t10 led's, or, I have plenty of options to experiment with for that. As far as the led projector. Guess I'm just gonna haft to park it and rip it apart, play with see what I need, dunno

@@christophermcdonald1861 for reverse you can add a small led pod from rigid, that's what some of the pro places that, do the custom lights do. They add a 2led pod from rigid and it fits just right

@@christophermcdonald1861 for the Headlights if you're going with the Anzo like I have I don't think pods will look good in the high beam. They don't fit good enough to make them look good. I wanted to do the same thing and it just didn't look right. If you have stock reflective Headlights then definitely you can add an led pod there and it will look good. If you're getting Anzo I recommend to retrofit a good projector for the low beam

Some cheap ones off Amazon. I think like $6 for 4 Pack and just last week I had to replace the first one that the cable broke off from the resistor where it meets the resistor.

Trying to order a pair of Anzo tail lights for my f150 UNSEALED through CarID and the customer support is absolutely ignorant as to what I am saying. Check out TheRetroFitSource they have sweet kits for retro-fiting reflector bowl headlights with projectors. I did it with my OEM headlights and I added RGB halos to them and my fog light housings. Shit looks tits. Love the tail lights btw.

I understand but this where already scratched. Bought them used on ebay and my truck is my daily work truck so it sees alot of debri so I wasn't to worried about them getting more scratches. I just didn't like the chrome inside.

It all depends how they want to come off. Sometimes they won't want to pry open when being baked so then you have to cut them

Daniel Demarest Watching this three years after it’s posted and thinking to myself why would you buy a decent set of LED lights, tear them apart and make them almost useless, the reason most buy the LED’s is to have brighter lighting to be seen faster, along with making them non-compliant with a federal law requiring the vehicle to have a reflector on the all four corners? Paining everything up except the reflector and chrome housings for the LED’s would have been much sweeter looking and still legal. To each their own I guess.
