Great Review! I purchased a 2013 Tacoma Limited back in the fall and my salesman with 18 years experience didn't know crap about the truck features. I found most of my information on KZbin. Most sales people just want to make numbers instead of selling customers a vehicle they'll be happy driving.

Is this actually a 2014 Tacoma? At 2:20 you can see the rear-view mirror showing Temperature and Compass info, but I understand that this type of mirror was removed from the 2014 line. Everybody I know whose received a 2014 TRD has a plain rear-view mirror (no auto dimming, no compass, no temperature).

Very nice review, good information, no non-sense talking. I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD4x4 Off-road with all the bells and whistles and I also have A-TRAC which I did not know how that system worked exactly up until now. Very nicely explained, thank you! One quick question: When the vehicle is parked, can I switch from 2 wheel high to 4 wheel high and vise versa? Tacoma is THE BEST TRUCK I've ever owned. I only have 57,000 miles on min and I am planning to drive it as long as I live!! Thanks again. Cheers!

Hello can anybody tell me why when I put H4 on my Tacoma 2008 the two front wheels gets lock??? So when I turn, one will tryes to catch the other, and therefore the truck kind of jump when am trying to sharp turn. I understand that you can lock the re differential with that button "rr dif lock" button but why the front wheels are always lock in 4x4 even H4 ,??? My prior 1999 4runner when 4x4 h4 would not drive like this ... In fact I always use to drive it that way , and the feeling was so good ... Just like a "all wheel drive car " Obviously I can do this in my tacoma because I would mess it up

What's not to like!! First of all, I love the look of the truck and I personally think it's the nicest looking truck out there!! I feel first class driving it, I really do. The lines of this truck, like the hood scoop is what caught my eye right away. I chose the trail team edition because with all those extras it's a less expensive option. I chose white because the black trim shows up more and I think white stands out on the highway better and is safer for on coming vehicles to see me. It drives really nice and smooth but can hug corners like a car. The 4x4 is awesome and easy to change from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive while driving. I really like the thunder sound of the TRD exhaust which came with the trail team package and I found the sound was an unexpected nice surprise. My husband likes the power of the V6 engine. Since it is my truck, he tried to contain his excitement, but when he drove it, he was like "WOW!!" this truck has power....LOL. I like that the seats in the back fold down but you can keep one half up for passengers and the other half down for cargo, perfect for my job as a community care aide. I have to transport supplies but also need an available seat for passengers without moving my supplies around. One more thing I really like is all the hidden space, the glove box is HUGE and so is the console between the two front seats. I can put a lot in there and keep it hidden away. There are two pop down eyeglass compartments on the ceiling in front of the rear view mirror which is such a smart feature!! One for my sunglasses and one for my eyeglasses. Who ever invented that was brilliant. I think the only negative thing I could find so far is there no thermostat. My old car had one on the radio screen and I really liked that. But in the truck there is only a compass on the rear view mirror, which is useful, but I like to know the temperature too. Oh well, for such an awesome ride....I can live without it. I give this truck a 10 out of 10!!! Cannot wait till Spring to take my Kayaks out, with the cross bars on the roof rack I will be able to load them myself. By the way I really like this video too, you did a great job explaining everything. I watched this video a lot and shared it too, so thank you!!

You never mentioned the manual transmissions. 5-speed manual available with the 4-cylinder engine. 6-speed manual with the V6 engine. I hate most automatic transmissions because they remove a lot of control from the driver. They claim automatics can tow more, but usually that is because most people don't really know how to use the clutch. Manumatic controls add back in some of the control by allowing the driver to select the gear the driver wants, but still then some vehicles don't give the driver full control. Also, with a automatic transmission it is as if the accelerator pedal is attached to a rubber band that deadens the drivers throttle inputs. With a manual transmission the driver has full control of how much power the driver wants to use. This benefit becomes of great use when getting moving from a stop especially on low traction surfaces. A automatic transmission will wait to deliver engine power to the wheels until the transmission's computer knows there is enough power to not stall the engine. On low traction surfaces like snow or ice, or when trying to back a trailer up a small grade on wet grass where the driver can't use 4x4 because the driver needs full steering angle for maneuverability; in these situations an automatic transmission will cause wheel spin, where with a manual transmission the driver can decide exactly how much power is needed and is able to use just enough power to keep the engine from stalling but not enough power to cause wheel spin.

the taco has the best history out of any mid size truck EVER!!! I used to be 100% Ford person....... the Tacoma is a "poor mans truck" a poor man cant afford to keep fixing what he buys..... its just a funny way to say Toyota builds a great truck

He does look like red foreman!! "Dumbass". (That 70's show) Great explanations on vehicle concepts.. Like a physics teacher.. I would buy from you red. I looked at 3 different dealers last week and none of the salesman even knew what the base horsepower of the 4 banger was- let alone what vvti was... One couldn't even drive a stick- and one couldn't even speaka de English .. Nice job.

Lo malo de todos estos nuevos modelos es que son caja automática, no dejan nada al romanticismo de las caja mecánica y que dicho sea de paso son mejores.

9.4 is the same ground clearance as the Chevy Colorado Z71 but Colorado cost less and has a more aggressive styling. Ask anybody and they will tell you the Tacoma is out of style and look like the ugly duckling of the siblings.
