2014 Yamaha Grizzly 550 vs 700 Knik Alaska

I have a 2011 Grizzly 550 and a 2020 Grizzly 700 xt-r. Except for the 700's power steering, I actually prefer the 550. It is never short an power, and feels more heavy duty. Love the 700, just prefer doing the utility work on the 550.

We only have 25 miles on them, still barely broken in. But we got the 550 up to 54 mph and my 700 up to 57. This is with larger tires than stock by 2 and 3 inches, and what I've heard is that this is basically a true reading, whereas with smaller stock tires it's about 10 mph off at that speed. So if I had stock tires it would have been saying about 65 and 70 mph.

you rite...I ride with a grizzly 550 with my suzuki kingquad 500 & we're near neck & neck acclerating. haven't top em out to top end yet

62-65 mph for 550 and 65-73 for 700

@@reidharris1059 Anybody who has any sense of vehicle instability never goes anywhere near those speeds. I have both those machines.
