Would love to see a comparison between these and the Fox 2.5 and Icon

I just installed these Kings on my 2019 XLT 4x4 super crew with max tow and wanted to post some lessons learned. I spent about 9 hours yesterday installing the fronts, mostly by myself. I did have a friend help route the remote reservoirs up through the top shock mount but other than that it was me. Take the bumper off. I cut the drivers side tow mount plastic cover and had issues getting the bolts out. First bolt came out and the second bolt retainer plat inside the frame got bent and just spun. No way to access it without pulling the bumper off. Bumper was super easy. I did have my neighbor help me pull the bumper off. It's 6x 21mm nuts plus disconnecting the fog light connectors and block heater receptacle from the plastic clip. No need to partially pull the wheel liners out. Just have one person hold the bumper in the middle and pull it off just enough to disconnect the fog lights. The two mount bolts are fully accessible and not screwing around with the 1" hole in the frame to get the nut plates lined up. I did this in my driveway and it was getting dark yesterday when I started on the rears. The rears are longer than the factory struts so I decided to wait until morning. I got back to it this morning and put a bottle jack on the rear axle and jacked up against the rear axle bumper. Worked like a charm and I had it all wrapped up in about an hour. The Kings plus new 2022 Raptor take offs raised my front end exactly 4" and the rear 2". I just drove it around the block and I like it a lot so far. Appointment at 1300 today for an alignment. The fronts were on back order for 7 months but the rears shipped right away back in February. Highly recommend.

I have had these on my truck for about 6 months now. They are amazing on the dirt roads here in Oregon. I'm itching to get back to Arizona to test them out in the Desert. I can't wait to see your video review of these! When you do the review be sure to voice your opinion between these and the Icon... Fox will be an obvious 3rd place :)

We'll certainly discuss the difference's between the two brands and what they offer. Great to hear your positive feedback, the desert is going to be a blast once you get back!

I just want to know if its a little softer ride than the bilstien because i did the bilstien 6510 or what ever they were called,the 2.5s and the truck rides very stiff now,so looking for a better ride.

Thank you for sharing the how to. Do you really need to do the vacuum pump for the IWE?

Is that the only way to mount the reservoir on a F150 4WD pickup? No way to attach to the top of the coilover?

Is there any good reviews on these king 3.0? I cant find any!

Great install review. Does this king kit fit the new 2021 f_150. ? Also, can you tell me the correct part #. I would like the same front coil overs and piggyback rears that give me a 2” + level. Also, Does King or anyone offer different mounting options for the remote res. ? Thanks guys.

Killer setup. Been looking at Kings for my 17 F150. Side question but have you had a chance to take it off-road in the current configuration with the 305/70's and 1552 wheels? Just wondering if you ended up needing to modify the crash bars as all for the tires after you got it out in the dirt? Install video showed them untouched but not sure if you found they were rubbing after. Definitely the overall look i'm going for but do not want to modify the crash bars in any way. Thanks.

Setup looks great. Great install video. Curious if you needed to modify the crash bar or have to do an trimming with that setup and wheel package. Love the look of the 305/70R/17. Just wanted know if there was any rubbing or scrubbing?

No you’d need all the control arms and drive components to widen the front to gain the travel the raptor has

Also how is the f150 holding up thinking about picking one up but I seen the 10 speed lawsuit just that has been holding me back. I could pick up a 14 raptor for close to the same price with lower mileage. Which would you choose since you have both?

After a leveling kit and bigger tires, my truck shifts erratically at times. However, the transmission is the ONLY thing I don’t like about the truck. I had a 2016 and upgraded to a 2018 - overall a good decision. I think a tune from Oz Tuning is in my future to help with the transmission issue. Just my $0.02.
@andrewstauch7074 жыл бұрын
WeekendWarriors Yea I don’t think my experience is necessarily typical. I’ve done a lot of research and it seems that I’m not alone, but maybe the minority. 3rd gear is the main culprit, but I should clarify and say that the upper gears shift very smoothly. Low end of the transmission is the issue.
@WeekendWarriors874 жыл бұрын
@@andrewstauch707 ah ok. I have that hard 3rd shift but very rarely, but I'm only on 33s and 2 years newer so I'd like to think they fixed the issue

I have a 2018 leveled on 33's I've owned it since new I have 40k on it now and I absolutely love the 10 speed I honestly could never go back to anything else its buttery smooth and I have the 3.5 it pairs for a perfect combo!
