And I might be biased because I'm an Aveda graduate.. but I really love the Botanical Kinetics eye cream. It's the only kind I've ever used that doesn't compromise my makeup application, helps diminish the dryness from setting concealer, and doesn't effect my eyes or contacts. I agree that some eye creams are garbage and do nothing. But I have to say, I really enjoy the aveda. Check it out, you might be pleasantly surprised.

My skincare routine is pretty ridiculous but I absolutely love that time. The kids and husband are in bed and I love taking that time out for myself. Like you said, once you start seeing results, it becomes even more motivating. I have severe sun damage and am a melanoma survivor. After being diagnosed with melanoma, I became more concerned with taking care of my skin. It's been sooooo worth the time and financial investment.

I am dying my hair and then caring for my skin. I got this new wrinkle preventing sheet mask, i was saving it for a special occasion. What a better occasion that NYE/Stephanie Nicole's night time skin care? You inspire me! Like seriously, YOU are the reason I became more serious about my skin care. I am obsessed with jojoba oil now after your facial oil video, i went and researched like a crazy person. Oh, btw, the sheet mask is in the shape of a cat. it's amazing.

So far you've motivated my purchases of the P50 1970, Good Genes, Belif True Cream, Shiseido Cottons, Caudalie Grape Water, Drunk E Vitamin C, Drunk E Glycolic and I'm slowly racking up for the Vitner's, Luna and Juno. I have dry-normal skin, just turned 30 and trying to get a head start on anti aging. Your insight and experience have made skincare considerably less overwhelming. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

So, my dermatologists have *never* told me that I had to wait 30 minutes after washing my face before using tretinoin/retinoids... That might explain why I had so much irritation and so little success with them. Wow. (luckily, regular retinol use seems to be working a lot better for me)
@sandrar6670
@sandrar6670 7 жыл бұрын
Naomi PR your pharmacist is also supposed to tell you this. You're right they don't emphasize it. They probably told me and I didn't pay attention. I've been using prescription Retin A for 27 years. When I switched to Renova because it was more gentle and I had to pay $250 for it, I definitely follow the rules and wash my face 30 min before I apply my retin A. I don't use retin A as often as I used to. Most spas won't do any treatments on you if you use retin A. I stop it for ten days prior to my hydrafacial. I alternate using the Kate Somerville dermal quench liquid lift with retinol.
@msl5131
@msl5131 7 жыл бұрын
Just keep in mind that many will also tell you to use moisturizer immediately after or even mix it together before putting on your face for less irritation. You really have to work your way up very slowly to using nightly tretinoin. You start out just ONE day/wk for awhile! Watch Hot & Flashy for a great Retin A video.

I have to buffer with a light cream before the retin a...or else I look like I've had a chemical peel, and then red sore patches develop. So light cream before and rosehip oil about an hour after seems to work beautifully for me.
@ala4935

Naomi PR i've been using trentinoin for close to two years and i've always waited half hour, but i got tons of irritation at first. i read that this happens to most people so i powdered through and it was so worth it, because it's the only thing that ever worked.

Your videos are so amazing. The amount of detail and care that you put into making sure people are properly educated is just incredible. You have made such a difference to my skin, I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada, last week we were colder than the North Pole... I have always had horrifically dry skin and no moisturizer has ever worked for me. With a climate this harsh and dry, I was fighting a losing battle. After watching your videos I completely overhauled my skincare routine, bringing in moisturizing toners and oils and serums and seriously my skin has never looked better. Thank you thank you thank you

I've found a similar washcloth at Walmart and the DollarTree. Probably not the same quality, but it works well for me. I can't use your products, being on a budget and having sensitive, oily, breakout prone skin (at age 57 no less). However, I love hearing the science behind the skin care. You do a great job explaining how the skincare works. Your skin looks wonderful. Enjoyed the video.

Sarah Gwin a mom & student is way better than skincare ❤ don't fret. There are products at every budget. The goals remain the same, the products can change. You want to cleanse, exfoliate, moisturizer & protect. Pixie Glow Tonic is nice from Target, La Roche Posay makes some nice stuff, just check ingredients & look up reviews ❤ kick ass in school 🙌🏻

I need to find a Stephanie Nicole with severely dehydrated skin and a compromised acid mantle. I really appreciate how you explain everything, provide alternatives and get into WHY you like it... drkellyncsu WTH? I had a derm use a block of dry ice on my face then give me 3 different prescriptions I had no use for. No explanations. I went in because I kept getting hives and he gave me dry ice, antibiotics and steroids. I had an auto immune disorder and allergies, not an infection. But, that debacle lead me to be my own doctor so I guess I should thank him for being such a quack. 😁

drkellyncsu That's so sad. Unfortunately judy because somebody has an MD doesn't mean they really understand newer science and products very well. They don't get trained in products: they are trained on the body and pharmaceuticals. I laugh and people who won't do anything without the doctors recommendation, I had a Spine Specialist tell me for 5 years I had arthritis in my neck. Then I see a spine surgeon who finally diagnosed my with Spinal Stenosis! Huge difference and finally got treatment. There's a reason why doctors "practice" medicine. Look for a great esthetician. I have one who just isn't licensed by the state board of cosmetology but she has her Masters and has done so much additional education. I'd trust her before my derm at Kaiser who's never helped me.

Lisa Locke This is the absolute truth. I have had the worst experience with people who are MD's. The M.D. doesn't mean they are highly educated in all areas of healthcare nor does it mean they'll care enough to take the time to make a correct diagnosis. Always be your own advocate & educate yourself the best you can. Hope you are feeling better, spine pain is not pleasant!

I have under eyes as you do. I didn't even realize you had fillers. Makes me realize that may be what I decide to do. I'm turning 44 this week and for the last few months being trying everything to improve that sunken in look. I've been Dermarolling to improve collagen and it's slowly improving. I use my Ultrasonic LED tool to help product penetrate and handle my issues. I also high frequency. My under eyes look a lot better but I'm worried over time they will get worse as I age. So fillers may be in my future. I'm so thankful for all you've taught me. Between you, Caroline Hirons and my amazing esthetician I think I have amazing resources for great educated information. I'm all about the ingredients and steering clear of harmful chemicals. Thank you for all you do! ❤

I'm 19 and follow multiple steps that you introduced me to, supplementing a few of the pricier products with something more affordable for me. I grew up struggling with horrible Eczema and with these steps, along with an ointment that I get from my dermatologist I'm finally achieving skin that I feel comfortable in, metaphorically and literally. Swarupa Nune holy crap. Thank you. I sent it from Final Cut Pro X to the Compressor. For some reason the color transitions over the step titles took hours to render before the compressor could finish the last bit. It took about 8 hours. I did have to reinstall a few months back, I'm wondering if I somehow messed something up. Never used to take that long
@RupaPSA
@RupaPSA 7 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh 8 hours it should not take that long unless your exporting A LOT of heavy graphics (which doesn't appear so) I would suggest exporting out of Final Cut and then throwing the video into compressor for a youtube version than can easily be uploaded. Hmmm make sure your graphics are also set in the the same format as your timeline and what your filming in. For example say your filming in Apple Pro Res 1280x720 @ 59fps make sure that your timeline in Final Cut is the same, and that your export is too and then throw it into compressor for what I assume the version your uploading to youtube will be. Also "nesting" your graphics may help esp. if you have lots of graphics layered on top of one another.

As a fellow woman in her 30's, it's always nice to see your skincare recommendations. I believe that Paula's Choice has an article about combining glycolic, tretinoin and vitamin C? My skin is pretty oily and 'tough', and so after I wash my face, I immediately apply the glycolic, then wait 30 minutes and apply the tret. Wait maybe 15 mins and then apply a serum, niacinamide lotion, and finally an oil. But again, I know that wouldn't work for someone with dry or sensitive skin.

It was refreshing to see someone that does a very similar night time routine, especially the reasons for doing it! I am currently using the Olay cleansing brush until I determine whether to purchase a foreo type cleansing product, or a clarisonic, and I have sevéral favourite cleansing products (Murad , Mary Kay, and several Korean products). I, too use tretinoin (switched to 0.01% a month ago), and Good Genes together at night, and I use a glycolic cream in the morning. I don't tone, but I use three essences in tandum in two week increments, and I don't use a cotton round, but my fingers (May Coop's Raw Sauce, Biotherm, Life Plankton, and Missha, Time Revolution, The First Treatment Essence). I'm significantly older than you, (I'm going to be 56 in March) so I use several fabulous serums after the essence, before I moisurize with Infinite Aloe, and Infinite Aloe Gold. I also then use an oil (organic rose hip, organic aloe, organic emu, or Sunday Riley's Luna (but I'm going to try théir Flora, or Juno next time). I've never used a med spa skin care regimen, but my current routine has improved my skin greatly over the last two years. My skin is normal to slightly dry now, but I was oily well into my early 40s, and I had significant acne for most of my life. My current main concern is deep nasolabial fold lines beside my mouth that began after surgical menopause ten years ago. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that the only thing that will address them is to begin using fillers which I haven't tried as of yet. Thanks for the time and effort you put into making, and sharing this video. It will be helpful for many, and it confirms to me that I am on the right track for the most part! Happy 2017, Stephanie! Love, and best wishes, Sherrey💗

I have always tried to take care of my face, but over the years I had not kept up with new skin care products. I just used the products my Dermatologist suggested and I tended to spend more on makeup & not really much on skin care. This video is a wake up call to adjust my skin care routine!! I immediately started checking on the Cetaphil that was recommended by the Dr., but is really not good for your face. After reviewing Stephanie's skin care videos, I have added several of the products she recommended. Especially the Good Genes by Sunday Riley and the May Coop. I also purchased a Clarisonic and the small cloth towels. WOW, I am documenting the changes to my face that started June 1st. I am on day 13 and have really noticed a difference! The biggest change is I feel I am getting my skin cleaner and it is brighter. This also made me think about my very hard water, so I have taken to using distilled water only to wash my face. Thank you so much for these videos!! I am looking younger daily!!!

I love watching your routines and learning about different products and how they work. One of my new year goals is to make a dermatologist appointment. I bought the Foreo Luna only after I consulted your video and I really enjoy it so far, (when I had more significant acne, I discovered that exfoliating even once a day was too much for my skin). Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me be more motivated to take care of myself, as someone with a lot of strain on their capabilities to function, every little bit helps. Happy new year!

How do you tell the difference between a treatment oil like Juno and a moisturizing oil like Fresh or Drunk Elephant? When I look at their descriptions on Sephora, they all say they have antioxidants.
@MsStephNic
@MsStephNic 7 жыл бұрын
Jenifer Zech just reading the ingredients. Juno has more oils that not only moisturize & contain antioxidants, they also preform more tasks. When you look up the fresh ingredients it's mostly just moisture & omegas. To get that much oil, for that cost, I'm assuming it's not extracted the most delicate so whatever antioxidants it could claim to have would likely have oxidized out. Don't just go by the sites description, Google the ingredients as well ❤
