This is really the coolest bike you've featured so far (in my opinion). Lots of imagination went into it rather than just selecting parts out of the H-D catalogue. I'm a big, big fan of the classic chopper style and this bike really pushes all my buttons. I'd go for a different seat though, the classic 2 up chopper seat (King & Queen). Maybe someday go for a 110 stage IV upgrade, but that's it. Perfection - Love it! I just purchased a 2017 FXDWG (Denim Black with Flames) this past December and this beauty gives me many ideas. SAWHEATNESSS!!!

Hello, I am 6'6" tall and 395 with a big head, so not only have I had to deal with the tall issue, but also the weigh issue. When I first started riding back in 1976, not only didI not have to take a riding test, but also there was no helmet law back then, for which I am grateful, as there was no way I would have been able to find one, as the internet was not a thing yet. Over the years, I have learned that if I buy a touring Harley and outfit it with ape hangers and extra take Keats, and stretch it by adding a luggage rack it helps, even though it still looks funny. I do hope that someday they will build. bike specifically for us. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront.

Mike super props on the mods you did to the bike. After watching Matt do demo rides on stock Harley's with his knees up around his ears the bike was made for a tall person. No matter how you spell sweetness that is one SWEET ride.

Appreciate this video and the ride. When shopping for bikes years ago it seemed to me like even the larger (weight) cruisers were set up for someone about 5'10". As a much taller guy I never found a setup that was comfortable for me, and stopped riding because of it. This helps.

Luv the suspension work he did to that. I never heard of the 2" fork risers, but by raising the rear end accordingly, it shouldn't effect rake/trail. Only gives the bike some additional ground clearance. You seemed to be doing lock to lock low speed maneuvers as easily as your uncle on the dirtbike.

Nice bike! Great channel as well! I ride an Indian but I’ve found that, although your channel features Harley’s, you’ve captured the riding spirit and enjoyment. Your comparison’s, when made, are fair and never belittling to other mfg’ers. Keep on Matt! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Eventhough I won’t be in the market for a second bike, I’d love to test ride a 103ci Road King, if you ever get one on the showroom floor, Always wanted one and the year I pulled the trigger on a touring V Twin, Polaris came out with the TS111 line and I bought it. No regrets, still love the Road King though!!

the chocolate seat looks odd, but the rest is preatty cool, it must feel awesome to be that tall and still find a bike that fits. He longer suspensions also makes it look tallet and more compact, definitely a chopper look, beautiful and bad ass.

I really felt that wiggle on the highway, I don't know causes it, my bike (07 fatboy) hasn't done it on me but my friend's Deluxe 09 does it, I'm not sure what causes it, but sportsters does it always, not sure thought it might be related to rake, how light the bike is and the foot position along with it? Thanks for sharing!

That was a lot of fun. I've always thought that the hanger style handlebars would be uncomfortable and awkward, yet when I watched a previous video with Robin on her Softail Deluxe and its raised handlebars it was beyond cool and convinced me that I was probably mistaken. You remarked on how comfortable this Wide Glide is to ride. Those bars are tall. I wonder, how costly is it to swap out regular handlebars for ones that are taller? An enjoyable video.

It's long over due for motorcycle companies to start remembering us taller riders. Buying the motorcycle then adding on all of the things to make it comfortable for us taller riders cost us a lot of $$$$$ time to keep us taller riders in mind.

If you still have boards, then the tall boys brackets are a nice addition. I had the Kury +4 extended controls on my old low rider. They made a difference. Arlen Ness made an extension kit for the softails that was less than 200 dollars, and ran that on a custom I had for a while. IDK if they make a kit for the touring bikes. I am only 6'3" with a 34 inseam. I guess it's the way I'm proportioned that makes a difference. I have an FLHR, but right now, my current ride is a 16 Roadster. Rolled the bars a little forward, other than that, fits me good with the mid controls. But I wouldn't want to tour on it, although I have run through a tank of gas without getting off of it.

Can you make a video of current models you would steer a vertically gifted individual in? I’m 6’10” with a 36” inseam and looking for my first bike. All the starter bike videos are on sportsters and similar small frame bikes that would make folks like me look like a bear on a tricycle. You’d also be one of the only videos out there like it. Trust me no one has talked about bikes for those over 6’6” I’ve looked. A lot.

You can put all the bells and whistles on , apes do nothing , he will still look like a little bike is growing out of his arse I'm afraid...at 6' 5"+ what you need is a long wheel base , height of machine not important , otherwise you big lads will look like your riding 125cc bikes.
