I have been driving Honda four cylinder cars since 1982 and quite honestly, I am tired of having to go down to the passing gear just to get up an incline. They are reliable engines, no question but for me it is time for a change. I have driven several of the Honda Accord V6 autos and the power is there when you need it. The ride is smooth and confident and there is isn't much of an increase in fuel costs. Through our credit card companies we do receive cash back on our fuel purchases. There is now a caveat with a Honda four cylinder engine and that is, it will be hooked up to a CVT Transmission. That is an area you definitely want to steer clear of. Nothing but trouble, nothing but a lot of trouble. Regards, Tony

I learned to drive on my dads 2006 accord sedan. I remember we put probably 240,000 km in the six years we owned it. Being the second owners we bought it off lease at 40,000km. Never had issues with the car and was bullet proof. Even when we bought a Toyota after the accord was still worth some money at 280,000, sometimes I wonder where it is today, if it’s in some scrap yard or if it’s off delivering pizzas, who knows.

Had the 14" sport sedan trim and trade it for the 15" coupe EXL the top of the line for the coupe version with factory ground effect kit. Love everything about it. The V6 compare to the 4 cylinder on the sport trim is a lot different. More power of course but I notice the engine is more quiet when AC is on and etc. I just feel like the V6 would last a lot longer. More efficient all around.

i'm old school and yes it took a bit to get use to my Cvt in my 14 Accord Ex but now that i have had my car for a year I think that Honda's Cvt is awesome...drives as well as any of Honda's 5 speed automatics i have driven in the past...no shift shock when I press on the gas hard...just gets up and goes...don't get me wrong those of you who can afford the V6 / 6 speed obviously that's ithe way to go but in my opinion buying the 2.4 with Honda's Cvt is a smart buy as well...

It's NOT that we Canucks like the smaller cars. If the dealers would offer us the same (bigger) cars for the same price that they get in the US we'd be lining up around the block to buy them.

+John LeGresley - It's probably not the dealers fault. Most countries put such a high tariff on U.S. cars that it makes them hard to compete with domestic cars and other imports. Even when the car is actually made in that country.

My only complaint in the past was that the Honda Accord wasn't nearly as quiet on the road as a comparable Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Buick or Chrysler. The road noise was always considerably louder in the Accord than the others. If they've finally given it a better sound deadening job, I would find the car a lot more desirable. Cabin noise is one of the things that really adds to driver fatigue on longer trips. Haven't had the opportunity to ride in an Accord for the last couple years, so things may have changed.

Since writing this comment, I've purchased a 2016 Accord v6 Touring. Had it for a little over 2 weeks now. It's a nice riding car, but isn't as smooth and doesn't have the placement on the road that the Chargers and 300c's have on the highway. But it's noticeably quicker than both of the V6 models of them. Doesn't seem to be quite as quiet as them either. Since the Touring as the 19 inch wheels, it's nice on extremely smooth roads, but you feel every little bump on anything but perfect roads. Not jarring or excessive, but still there, nevertheless. If you want a plush Buick or Chrysler like ride, then better to get the lower end model like the EX, EX-L or similar with the smaller wheels and tires, but get the V6. Gas mileage is good in the city, but excellent out on the road, especially if you put it in the economy setting. Acceleration is excellent. But with this much power on tap, you really become quickly aware of the downside of having front wheel drive, whereas it may not be as apparent on the 4-cylinder models. The extra power of the 3.5 V6 easily overwhelms the front wheel drive at times. If Honda had decided to make this car rear wheel drive, it could have been so much better.

hello love the video! question I am purchasing one of these 15 V6. they are offering extra warranty that I think it's a little high ! Do you think I should go with the extra warranty it covers all electrical after 12000 miles!. when the original warranty wears out and this vehicle I am purchasing is certified up to 100,000 miles not electrical. THE vehicle I'm purchasing already has 35,000 miles.

Really nice car for the price. I wonder why the sales are so poor in Canada? Maybe they need an AWD version?
@Starchface
@Starchface 9 жыл бұрын
***** If someone wants a car with AWD, there are other options. Notably, Subaru does well to maintain a full lineup of AWD vehicles while keeping prices out of the stratosphere. I'm no expert but I just can't see a place for a $40,000 Accord. Speaking of prices, I think that is the main issue. The vast majority of Canadians are not prepared to pay $100K, or even $50K for a passenger car. $30K is a lot more palatable. For us, value is a major concern. The wealthy may have something to say about that, but it doesn't matter-that tiny percentage may as well be on another planet. They are not representative of "regular" Canadians. I think it is also harder to finance an auto purchase here than in the US. It seems as if an entire industry of easy financing has developed in the US-perhaps too easy, judging by the popularity of another industry: repossession. We place more emphasis on paying for the car, than on trying to impress other people with it. Then there is the American love of large automobiles, which Canadians have traditionally eschewed. The Accord may not seem very large in the scheme of things, but it is larger than the Civic-and in Canada, it is the Civic that is the best seller (as Zack mentioned).
