This is a nice refresh of the Lincoln Navigator until the new model is introduced. This is a welcomed action taken by Ford Motor Company to enhance the look of the older design. The new grill and rear deck look great. It should do well until the next model is introduced in a few years.

I had the blessing of owing the 98 when it was released and a 2000. Loved them both then I went to the 2003 Aviator, the engine died and I could not afford to replace it so I sold it. i can't afford a new one but my heart still belongs to the Navigator. maybe one soon i'll regain the tax bracket to won , gas it and keep up the maintance

Ummmm...no. Yes, it still sits on a full frame chassis, which is good. It is still REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE as God intended. It has a real 4x4 drivetrain. It is a true SUV, not one of these cheesy little sideways engined, wrong-wheel-drive sissymobiles that pretend to be SUV's but can't even come close. It has a sophisticated drivetrain with a modern 4-wheel-independent suspension design. Dinosaur? I think not son.

You know that the best Lincoln Navogator - is Lincoln Navigator 1. Its extremly reliable and simple with the same power and luxury salon inside! Best form all other full size SUV! Spare parts - are all at low costs. 300hp engine runs about millon miles! All the morden functions are inside IPad now - so there is no need to implement them inside the car's computer - its owevloaded and not used in real life. Even the second generation is not so reliable as the first!

imo, a v8 is better than a twin turbo v6.. i mean twinturbo'd a v6 sounded like a tryhard thing to even keep up with the potential a v8 is capable of plus i wont be surprised that a twin turbo v6 would cost more for maintenance than an NA V8; if one turbo goes out, your car is weak afterwards.. so V8 ftw

Ernie Brown I completely agree. This tiny little 3.5L twin-turbo Ecoboost V-6 will be very overstressed trying to haul three tons of SUV around while a larger V-8 would do it almost effortlessly. This translates into more frequent and higher cost maintenance for the highly stressed tiny V-6 versus the larger, more relaxed V-8.

Chris Haywood I think you're right. it's too bad bcuz the new navigator looks great. the 2014 model isn't bad either, but that will be replaced by the time i can afford one. Unless a miracle happens. Maybe I'll buy a used 2014 model years navigator.

The Lincoln Navigator engine has been tested numerically by its engineers to produced potent horsepower that is relatively faster than most V8s. This SUV has a strong and more powerful engine than the outgoing 5.4L V8. The V6 can tow a boat without hesitation with its 380 hp. So as for this vehicle being a heavy-weight with a V6 can still perform decent.

True. However, the tiny V-6 will be highly stressed in such a large SUV as compared to a much more relaxed, larger displacement V-8. Therin lies the durability issue. Will a highly stressed, tiny V-6 last as long as a relaxed large displacement V-8?

I think Lincoln needs to revamp/redesign the Navigator. Compared to its counterparts like say the Cadillac Escalade it just doesn't match Up.

Navigator never been a competitor to Cadillac Escalade, It was Ford's ambition Navigator to be a competitor to Escalade. Two different thing all together. I think the built quality, fit and finish is almost same on these two giants, but when it comes to driving pleasure and superior feel, the caddi win hands down. In Cadillac Escalade you won't find Chevrolet Tahoe's trace at least when you are driving it. (center console, few buttons are still similar to Tahoe), but Navigator you find many similarities to it's sibling Ford Expedition and even from F150, Raptor pickups. Air ride is incredibly smooth though Navigator lacks that Ooph the Caddi has!

Wrong, it was the Escalade that was the competitor to the Navigator. Lincoln introduce the Navigator in 1998, the Cadillac Escalade came one year after (1999).

I'll give it to the escalade for exterior looks and interior function from the front seats but the second row back to the tailgate is an absolute rip off...paying 95 grand for jump seats is just plain wrong...the navigator at least does that right consistently despite the ol' snaggle tooth look!

With the great job Lincoln did on the MKZ I am underwhelmed by this effort, definitely back to the drawing board for Lincoln on this model or discontinue it altogether. Ford has massive success in other segments, unless there is a revolution on this model coming next year, time to consider the axe for the Navigator.

Escalade is a 7 seater and has an extended "ESV" wheelbase version with more third row space. The Lincoln in this video is also the extended version. Check out a review of the ESV it's sick.

Well i really think it's just because lincoln can't afford to put new things into their car and actually give the car it's well deserved refreshed look. You should look at their sales and then find out why everything looks the same.

Ipodfreak239 True. Ford is neglecting Lincoln terribly. Lincoln is on its way out just like Mercury. That is terribly unfortunate. I've always been a Lincoln man. I haven't driven anything but Lincolns for over 25 years. But nothing Lincoln offers now interests me. Lincoln has nothing but sideways engined, wrong-wheel-drive re-badged Fords. Lincoln desperately needs a V-8 powered REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE car to compete with Cadillac, Mercedes, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Jag, et al. But I don't see it happening.

Honestly, I like the looks. I have always liked the Navigator. But Ford is neglecting Lincoln badly. It won't be long before Lincoln goes the way of Mercury if Ford doesn't do something soon. I've always been a Lincoln Man. I've driven nothing but Lincolns for the past 25 years. My most recent Lincoln was a '95 Mark VIII. But nothing Lincoln offers now interests me. I go to a Lincoln showroom and see nothing but down market, sideways engined, wrong-wheel-drive re-badged Fords. If it's not REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE and V-8 powered, I have no use for it. That's why the new Navi disappoints me. Beneath the bonnet no longer beats the heart of a big, American V-8. The V-8 has been replaced by a tiny, twin-turbo Ecoboost V-6 engine. A V-6!!! In a Navigator!!!!! I have no idea how to even put into words my total and utter disgust at Ford's apparent ignorance to what premium luxury SUV buyers are looking for. Cadillac has the right idea with the Escalade by keeping the big V-8 engine available. Ford should at least make the 5.8L or 6.2L V-8s from the F-150 optional for those who want a real V-8 powered full size SUV. I'm depressed now...

Well, let's see how that twin turbo engine does, they say it's going to deliver 370HP and more torque than the current V8 5.4 liter. I currently own a 2007 navigator L model and it's beautiful. I also had a navigator 1998 model for about 9 years and I love lincoln. Let's see how this engine delivers before we run into conclusions. People always put the escalade as the top SUV between the two I just feel that the lincoln is more practical. I do have to admit that the escalade is way more powerful.

you need to understand that new innovative ways makes improvements... the twin-turbo v6 will produce slightly better mpg and power than a bulky NA V8.. try comparing the new 14city- 20hwy vs a v8 making 11 city/ 17hwy.? it's an suv; and their trying to improve mpgs on their bulky suvs i find GM can do a way better job if they were more assertive on their research..lol...

WAY TOO MUCH CHROME. I like bmw cuz they said that bmw doesnt need to slap on a bunch of chrome to make thier cars look nice. I think that is what most car manufacturers do is add as much chrome as possible to make their cars look nice. Mercedes audi amd lexus use a lot of chrome and its annoying.

Soooooo disappointing.... I used to LOVE the Navigators (03-06 models) but the interior is still horribly outdated. How can you get a Ford Focus with a better interior than the Navigator? Guess I will be purchasing another Escalade. The new design (Escalade) is amazing and shows clear effort to please their customers. In 07 Lincoln made everything in the interior square and cheap looking, and put too much chrome all over the exterior. Now they did in 2015, what they should have done in 2008....cleaned up their mess. 2015 should be totally revamped, this is just pathetic.... I'm a die hard FORD fan, but they have got to realize it's a new era. People want a NEW product, not just the old one cleaned up!
