Very nice! I have the Kooks Headers on my '15 GT with their H Pipe cat back too, but it has no midpipe meaning it stays 3" throughout. With all that HP you are putting down, why did you choose to stay with the restrictive 2-1/4" midpipe that connects to the cat back instead?

How long did it take them to do the headers, thinking of taking my 2016 5.0 up there.

why did kooks come with the 2.5" restriction pipe ,not 3" the whole way ?.. Prob need a 3.625 pulley now.

I measured my Kook's elbow piece that drops down to less than 2-1/4", and I was shocked with how narrow it was. That's why I opted to get the cat back that directly hooked up to the long tubes staying 3" all the way though. That makes more sense to me.

That hp number was weak asf for a blown coyote?

At this point we were still running the prototype tune from Whipple. This car was the first automatic 5.0 with a Whipple and the tuning for the kit was still under development. If you watch the next vid in the series you'll notice that we got the car custom tuned at Livernois Motorsports with fairly dramatic results.

Anyone notice how they revved it out higher to make the hp go higher on the after header dyno? 🤗

Anyone notice that the curve started to drop off at a lower RPM with the stock exhaust? No point on winding it passed the break over point. It's not going to make any more power.

Anyone notice that it’s silly that you wouldn’t compare apples to apples?
@SVTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
Same car/tune/day/dyno = Same apple.

Different exhaust, different RPM’s=not same apple.

It appears you do not understand how to read a dyno sheet, or how dyno pulls are made. The exhaust change was the purpose of the test, so of course that was different. Once peak power is made you stop the run. Purposely running it higher is simply unnecessary abuse. The stock exhaust peaked at a bit less than 7,000 RPM, hence we stopped that run shortly thereafter. With the Kooks exhaust the car actually kept making power as the RPMs continued to climb. We ended that run just short of 7.500 RPM to avoid potential engine damage. If you need further explanation I suggest you head over to the SVTP forums. The experts there would be happy to help you.

Why H style? You have no cats minus well go with X for more power
@SVTPerformance6 жыл бұрын
We have dyno tested X and H pipes back to back on the same day/car/dyno/etc. The HP difference between the two was within the margin of error of the testing equipment. The only perceptible difference was the sound. The video of the test is on this channel.

304 stainless is one of the lowest grades of stainless. It's not "premium quality". It will still rust. It's Walmart BBQ stainless :) Kooks should use 316L to justify the cost of their systems. If they can bend it without cracking it that is.
