Nice job, had to break out all the 20 extensions :-). The NGKs that you used are one of te best spark plugs money can buy. I use the exact same Irridium version on my GTI (different model, PLFER7A8EG), I replace them every 60,000km (~38,000 miles in US money). That boxer engine is a tight fit, I hate it when I cannot see where the plug goes, need to use finger feeling. How does she run, does it feel smoother or just placebo effect?

placebo i guess, feels the same. but i put her tune back on after both me and the wife said its a lot slower without the tune.

I am the same way you are Mark with anti-seize, however apparently on the nice plugs like NGK or Denso they have a special coating on the threads and that gives you accurate torque readings, Anti-corrosive issues when you want to take the plugs out the next time

Mark, you know on the Subarus you don’t have to start them up to check the mileage just press the mileage reset button when you open the door don’t press the button or key to go into accessory mode at least on my legacy I don’t have to do that I just press the mileage reset after opening the door with the car completely off and it tells me my mileage

wow less than 50k on a 2015 Forester XT? That is a baby. I did this job on my 2014 Forester XT in 2015 and racked up 53k miles in 2 years.. the video is on my channel haha! Anyways, I'm at 160k miles today. Do you still have the leak near the Front Diff/CVT area? Dealer do anything about it? Mine still has it... runs fine and still not sure what the hell it is.

i will be checking out your video in a sec, and subscribing. i havent checked that spot between the engine and tranny in a while, but i just got back from driving it since my GTI is in the shop today. it drives real good. I was planning on getting rid of it in about a year tho, its getting pretty old..

14MM socket is correct. I read the Dealer charges around 350.00-400.00 and they possibly undue the motor mounts and jack the engine up a few inches. Torqueing them is a bitch I just did it by hand like the old days. The thing about the plugs is the Iridium coating burns off the tip, this is why plugs fail.. I replaced mine on my 2018 XT at 22k miles, engine runs much better. Next time I will put 35k on these new plugs.
