Unfortunately, the S is stiffer, but feels more awkward driving to boot. I added the rear TRD sway bar and the 10th Gen TRD strut tower bar to my 2016 S. Made it feel much better and strangely, a bit more comfortable. It now feels like I feel it should have stock. I'm considering the TRD springs!

@mr.boostang20643 жыл бұрын
@@coulsonkyser9757 I have a 2016 Corolla S, from a dead stop it's really slow thanks to its low torque but once it gets moving its decently quick and makes good use of the available 132hp. 0-60 comes in at exactly 9sec but the car feels very zippy and lively especially in sport mode which gives you 7 programmed "gears" and stiffens up the steering wheel. The Corolla S also has a "sports tuned" suspension which I further enchanced by installing GMAX RS performance summer tires, taking sharp turns is no problem and although it does have body roll it still stays planted around quick turns, just dont expect Lotus Elise like handling lol. I like the styling of this Corolla a lot. One of my co-workers bought one earlier this year & she likes it so far. The legroom is surprisingly roomy for a small car & is a lot better than my 2006 Corolla S was which is the main reason why I sold it. I'm 6ft & I have plenty of room inside of this car, but went with a Camry instead cause the Corolla isn't powerful enough & I have the V6. I wish Toyota went with a 6-speed auto instead of the CVT. Thank god they didn't with the Camry!

I just rented a '15 non-valvematic LE model for a week. Overall it's a decent commuter car. Pretty quiet for a cheap car, with little wind or road noise and no rattles. Engine drone is quite high when pushing it. The car is very sluggish off the line even for economy car standards. The engine ramps up once it gets past 30 or so and more in-line with a regular economy car at that point in terms of acceleration. I couldn't even get the tires to chirp no matter how hard I tried.I am curious how much better the valvematic engine is in real-world MPG and power. This is actually quite a sophisticated setup they have so the arguments of using old tech isn't really true with the model in question. Overall, a good commuter car for someone who needs to do a lot of highway miles per day going to work. Doesn't have the extra upfront costs of a hybrid yet still runs economically and is a quiet comfortable ride. No question this car will do 300k miles without any major issues. BUT, I would recommend people not buy this car new. I would recommend buying a certified used one from Toyota. There are tons of them out of due to the sheer number of these vehicles rotating through fleets. You will save a lot off the deprecation hit.

I have been test-driving cars lately. Logic tells me a 45 year old should go to a mid-size sedan from my Sentra, right? I have driven Fusion, Altima, Sonata, Malibu, Mazda6, Accord, Optima, and Camry. I also drove the Civic, Elantra, Forte, and while I was at the Toyota dealership, I decided to drive the Corolla. I can't stand CVT's, but this is a very good CVT. I didn't even realize I was driving one until about halfway through the test. Something happened during this test drive that didn't happen with ANY of the others- I SMILED... Why? The best answer I can come up with is that this car is everything it is supposed to be. I enjoyed driving this car. It was comfortable, stylish, roomy, and obviously comes with good mpg and that Toyota reliability. It's just hard to justify paying so much more for a comparably equipped mid-size. I still have to test-drive VW. I haven't ruled out the Fusion. But it won't surprise me if I end up being a 45 year old owner of a Toyota Corolla.

Except the popping/groaning front end, these are very good. 2016 owner here with nearly 227K miles from new. Fantastic cars. Style-wise, I feel the 11th Gen cars are peak sedan styling for the model. I preferred the driving spirit and more solid and tight build quality of my 9th Gen 5-speed CE though. I call those peak Corolla overall because they are the peak build and engineering point for a still simple car without the extra electrics (infotainment). Just an opinion from someone that's been able to experience GM J's and same era Chrysler K's, 90's GM W-body and Chrysler Cloud Cars, VW MKV Golf, 8th Gen Civic Si. It's good to have diversified real-life experience to have a better tempered opinion. Cheers!

Honestly it is a really nice car, the features are advanced (Touch screen radio), it allows you to drive in a eco mode depending on how you step on the pedal (usually by keeping the rpm at around 2) which saves you a lot of gas. I am constantly driving to and from work and school and I can go anywhere from one to two weeks of driving on a full tank. It is a really good choice! Also as a added bonus the safety rating on corollas is no joke. My 2014 before this was totaled in a bad accident due to a careless driver and I had no major injuries since the cars frame is designed to spread the energy from the impact so its definitely a good choice car for the family.
