Toyota refreshed the Corolla for 2017, adding a safety sense package standard across the board which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Control and Automatic High Beams. They also had 50th anniversary edition for 2017 and the CVT transmission is now standard

More reason to get a 16, or older. All that added stuff is total Crap. Too big of a pain to turn that junk off everytime you get in the car.

Toyota doesn't make "cheap" cars unlike the Mitsubishi Mirage and other American manufacturers. They know Americans don't want a car that has cheap plastics inside or an interior that will fall apart after a few years. Toyota is known for their good build quality and legendary reliabilty

I would never get a Turbo they put too much stress on the engine and then they don't last as long. That is the main thing that makes it a reliable car is that the are natural aspirated. This model the 2016 has plenty of power I can over take any car with mine and I have no issues going up hill there is no lag. Toyotas are great cars because the company knows its products and make them better a little at a time until they have a perfect product and they learn from their mistakes.

Power seats would be over doing it in this class just a Tad. I don't know why more power would be expected with its intended purpose? Gas mileage is where this car could use an "update". It's not the best in terms of fuel economy. I recently got a quote for a mid level LE for $15k.

I wish Toyota had valet security on these things for instance having a completely different key or a plastic credit card key for just the ignition, locks for the 6040 receipts so there is no access to the trunk and a by directional lock for the trunk so we cannot be open except with the master key

The CVTs made by Toyota/Aisin are very robust, just do a fluid change at the dealer every 60k miles and it'll last. I have a 2016 Corolla with 70k miles and it runs and shifts silky smooth. Just make sure the car is at a full stop before selecting park, drive or reverse, also oil and oil filter changes every 5k miles ALWAYS.
