Faster then these 400s by like 4mph i know itll give them a good run for the money ahit ypull probably smoke my alterra 400 i got a windshield and i got a top speed of 48mph on the dream o meter

I sold it a few years ago and bought an 850 Outlander....The Arctic Cat held up really good though...Decent ATV

I just bought my first ATV, a used 2016 Alterra 450. I didn't know much about ATVs and the drivetrain whine really bothered me. Though there was some issue with the belt or clutch. I was relieved to hear that yours has the same whine. I can probably start driving it a bit harder now. If you ever feel like commenting, I want to ask if you've replaced your drive belt? Mine is pretty new and it sounds squeaky when I turn the variator by hand. Also if I rev the engine on neutral, the belt squeaks or whines for a second just before coming back to idle RPMs. Have you noticed anything similar and would you say if it's normal or not? Thanks!

Thanks for watching! To answer your question no i never changed the belt on that particular atv...I bought it new and sold it before it ever really needed any maintenance...As far as any driveline noise i dont think you have anything to worry about...All these belt/shaft drivin bikes make strange noises like whines and clunks ...If your really concerned and you feel it's making noises your not comfortable with you can always have an atv shop check your rollers and buttons in your clutch to make sure their not worn out

@@Videocipher thanks! I'm the kind of person who notices the smallest noise and gets concerned if there's no clear explanation. I'd be penniless in no time if I took my machines to the shop each time I think I hear something😄 Thanks to you I can now rest somewhat easy knowing that this noise isn't unusual or shouldn't be an indication of something breaking down.

We have one 2017 love it . We paid $5027 tax everything in . One of the best atvs for the money. I only found one major down fall. The air filter and vent tubes for the cvt are to low. They should have brought them up to the top of the gas tank like other atvs. We trail ride not mud ride but some trails we can't get passed some not deep water holes . My polaris 500 can but not this because of this reason. Other then that it is a great atv .

I had a 2021 450 loved it besides the air filter location and intake tube. Sucked in water that splashed up and ruined the engine. Water wasn't past the floor boards and dealer wouldn't fix it and voided the warranty on my whole machine.😑

I think i got 1400+ on my 17 alterra 400 i got it used with 16 miles on it i believe its not the best on gas but the torque i like bc its able to pull up my dadz 22ft by 5 7 wide yukon raider and yes the IRS suspension is the best of the best fuck the single shock at the back

Not one single issue with it man...I honestly haven't put many miles on it but it hasn't given me a single problem
