Just used your video to put MotoFab leveling kit on my 2020 Tacoma Sport. Did it in 6 1/2 hours. Fronts were pretty straight forward. The rears caught me. I tried to do with tire on. Big mistake. Taking tire off made access so much easier. Also putting the block under the spring. I had to use jack on front and one on back of spring to make room to fit block in. Then when I lowered the hole/pins didn't line up, so took some creative work with jacks to move/align pins/holes. Put block on axle pin, then lower jacks/springs on, then hit with mallet to get the pin on spring to go in block hole. Only thing I'm concerned about is the front spring rubbing the sway bar. It looks close. Might order the sway bar kit to move it 1" forward. It's only $30.00 and takes an hour. Love the height of the truck now. Ready for the next mod. Thanks for the video!

Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks is the proper way to get a tacoma leveled, and not wear out other suspension parts or affect the ride
@bradgt51306 жыл бұрын
ChosenGamingTV your comment makes no sense. Raising the vehicle 1” from a spacer or from the bilstein 5100 puts the same angles on the components. Ones just cheaper than the other. If anything the 5100 affects the ride because it’s a different shock all in all. A spacer like this uses the factory strut and doesn’t require you to take about the coil to install.

Plz speed up your video when loosening bolts. Nobody needs to watch that in real time. Thanks.

Then why are you watching, you have the ability to speed up the video yourself, idiot.

I just got a Tacoma this is super useful, this was the first thing I wanted to do to it! Came across 2 things in research, removing the sway bar and discarding it, modding the CV axle boot by clamping it down further down the shaft with a hose clamp to avoid the folds from rubbing. Anyone got thoughts on these?
@petset772 жыл бұрын
Removing the sway bar link allows each side to be moved independently, without influence from the other side. Removing it permanently changes handling on the highway, so be aware. The only thing not mentioned is that installing the lift block moves the lower bolt position compared to the control arm by 60 degrees, meaning the hole at the bottom doesn't line up. The bottom should twist to line up for the large bolt, and I'll find that out tomorrow when I install my lift.
@shawnmoore2342 жыл бұрын
@@petset77 mine didn’t line up either. Couldn’t do both the lower bolts and the sway arm as a result. Could get one line up but that made it so the other didn’t. What did you do to remedy this?
@petset772 жыл бұрын
@@shawnmoore234, I found another link with the suggestion to install the strut 180 degrees from position of stock strut. It still didn't line up exactly, but it was close enough to rotate the lower end after the top is bolted in. Torque settings for all suspension components are listed on an online chart. Good luck.
@shawnmoore2342 жыл бұрын
@@petset77 thanks! Do you happen to have that link?
@petset772 жыл бұрын
@@shawnmoore234 ...for the suggestion of rotating the new strut and spacer, I'm sorry to say I don't. I think it was in one of the Tacoma forums. For the torque settings, I have it all written down on a note pad somewhere (maybe still in my truck), but all I did was enter my truck and suspension torque settings in google search, and it came right up. Again, I'm honestly sorry I don't have that stuff in front of me (it was a few months ago), but it was easy to find online.

Would i void my extended warranty if i do this to my truck?
@ChrisCustoms6 жыл бұрын
michael dev I think anything you do that’s not dealer related voids the warranty. I’m not too sure, though.
@josueduran68815 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisCustoms No, if something goes wrong with the truck, and that problem can be traced back to the modification, it will void your warranty. If the problem was not caused by the mod, you're still covered.
@johnswinsy22163 жыл бұрын
You should not be doing this your self. It is very unlikely that the camber will need to be put back in the exact same spot as you marked. Your giving people wrong advice and it will cause premature tire ware if you do it this way. and in some cases your steering may be affected. For those wanting to do it the right way please don't follow his instructions. The camber will need to be adjusted to a more negative camber to accommodate the mod. And while your at it check the toe as well.

@@RChobbiespro Exactly, just take it to an alignment shop right after install, and ull be ok. The shop corrects your camber and caster to the correct degree!
@petset772 жыл бұрын
Any parts replacement or alteration to front suspension requires an alignment immediately after. Parts suppliers will have that disclaimer with the included paperwork, for those unaware.
