Also great tip on purposely 'overfilling' , shifting through the gears and subsequently draining the excess to get the right level.

Good time to check the transmission vent tube as well. They get clogged constantly. On my 1.5t is was clogged at 27k , and I've been checking them on all my friends cars with CVT or auto even Hondas. There's also another cartridge type filter behind the CVT fluid heat exchange thing or whatever they call it. If it's your first drain and fill at 30,000 miles don't bother with the filters. Just clean the magnet well. Then your next drain and fill do the filters. Or do them every time if you really want to. Most dealerships don't even bother with those filters. My local dealership didn't even know about the filter , or stock the thing 😆.

Yes, change it now. I bought my 2017 Civic Ex-T with 70,000 miles on it, and there was no maintenance record for a transmission fluid change. I took it to a transmission specialist, and they told me the fluid had never been changed. So, I went ahead and changed it. A new CVT costs about $8000 including labor so, it’s smarter to stay on top of maintenance. They recommend I change the transmission fluid every three years or 36,000 miles. And, the car drives better now. It’s like I have better access to the engine’s power.
