I like Emme's reviews. She has great energy. The MDX doesn't impress me as much. Too small to be a great 3-row crossover, and it's look is not one of beauty. Acura is moving that iron, though. Good seller.

Love my '15 Tech FWD that we brought to replace my wife's Civic. It doesn't have the adaptive cruise control that the advanced package has, but that's fine with us. Probably the biggest thing I would knock it for that wasn't mentioned in the video was that I wish the rear doors opened up wider. It makes for general ingress/egress much easier as well as giving you more working room to load/unload kids (because let's me honest, many people are looking to buy this as a mommy wagon). The other thing is that the car hides its speed really well. I have found myself going into a corner by far much hotter than I anticipated, but the car with the 19" Continental tires match up really well and I really haven't gone nearly anywhere near the tire's limits daily driving.

Parents leased one of these and a new x5- mdx is black and x5 gray. I will say that this is much more comfortable and quiet to ride in especially for the road trips, and I love that it pretty much drives itself. It also looks great in black. X5 is way better to drive though and the interior quality is probably the best of all BMW (and it looks cool at night). Interestingly enough, they both attract the same attention with people saying "how do you like it?" with the Acura, and "nice car!" with the BMW. I honestly will say though that I find myself using this Acura more (unless I'm trying to impress people) because that self-driving feature is real easy to get used especially on long highway drives.

Don't get this car it has a transmission problem I bought my car brand new 2016 advance $60000 After 1 month the transmission started acting weird Took it to the dealer he said there are couple of customers complaining about the same exact thing and that Acure is working on a software update and that was 3 months ago still no update or fix Google :2016 MDX transmission problem Click on one of the links you will see a lot of 2016 MDX owner complaining You will see it for your self

Good video but you guys might want to consider redoing the sound. There were times in the video where I could NOT hear Emmy over the music. 9:20 was the worst, but there were other moments as well.

I would choose the BMW x5 over this. sure it's more expensive and maintenance is sure to be higher but at least BMW still has a real shifter and idrive is better than ever on current models.

Report out about a month ago by a lease return company listed the BMW X5 as #1 vehicle to have the lease terminated early. Poor snow performance was the top listed complaint. However, the 9spd transmission in this Acura should not be trusted. It's been problematic in other Acuras, 2016 Honda Pilot, Land Rover and Jeep Cherokee. The transmission alone is reason enough to buy something else.

wcjeep it's not that Xdrive is bad the problem is people will option an X5 with larger rims but the rims run summer tires and it's really difficult to find all weather or winter tires with the same dimensions.

+jump oricakle I wasn't bashing the X5. Just know what I read. Neighbor is happy with his X5. Large rim/tires make no sense. It eliminates necessary sidewall. The Ford Edge Sport has gone a similar large rim direction. 17" rims make sense for large brake caliper clearance. I stand by my 9spd transmission comments. The ZF 9spd transmission should be avoided. It's worse than a CVT transmission. We owned a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk for one year. The initial test drive is ok. By the time one hits day 3 of ownership it's flaws become apparent.

Emme, much better review than the new Miata one. Specially agree with the center console critique. I was in the market for a new vehicle and the MDX's center console was a big turn off. It looked cramped, tasteless, and turned an otherwise nice cabin into a bunch of cheap gizmos. The car also needs much nicer wheels for all trim levels--I expected you to point that out.

Hi, Emma.. Well, for a better attention for Acura MDX driver to the road, Acura provide voice command that can set fan speed and many others features to certain speed or temperature or whatever. Unfortunately, here in Kuwait, will I believe you'll not notice what it's rather than where it is without the Iraqi occupation of it, don't have voice command feature at any trims of any Acura cars. However, I believe in Kuwait, we're the first arabic country to have a dealer of Acura in recent years.

I have a 2011 MDX and by and large, it's a great family hauler which is pretty decent to drive as well. Other than the ridiculous thirst, one other thing that bugs me is that the second row seats are not a 40-20-40 split which would make it so much easier to carry long items like skis with 4 people in the car which is what we have most of the time. I mean, how difficult is it to have a 40-20-40 split instead of the 40-60 split which means you lose 40% of rear seat space if you want to carry long items on board. It can't possibly cost that much more Acura ?

db qu totally agree. Have a 2011 MDX as well with two car seats. So now I can't put any long items in the vehicle without removing a child seat and leaving one child at home. Like c Mon. All this would've solved if they put in 40-20-40. My friend Rx has it. Thirsty for sure. I also hate how accessing the third row is so much of a pain that we basically use it as a 2 row and tell extra people we can't take them. The infotainment is also at least a few years behind. Our 2011 Kia Forte had a much better voice recognition system for calls. We got the elite with the magnetic dampers and after only 4 years just right after warrant, they went. $4000 for the front and $2500 for the back. I would rate our MDX just "okay". 6/10

Hey Roman, we really should do some track day review at HPR. Ok I know it is really expensive to rent the whole track. But HPR don't actually get that much people in some track day. And semi-exclusive tune is also not that expensive.

+723lion temperature may need a knob, but most people don't realized, you don't have to click the +/- sign to get to your desired temp, just click on the bar where you want temperature to be. Also, you can set shortcuts for different climate settings so that you just need to press 2 buttons (shortcut and then which one). There also a max heat button option for cold days.

+CKPHH Everyone that has been driving for quite a while, is used to the gear selector being a knob or lever of some sort. Even in cars like the Range Rover, Dodge RAM, and the Jaguar, people are used to a rotary dial. Some people are still used to the steering wheel-mounted lever in GM vehicles. I wouldn't like having to use 3 DIFFERENT buttons to just change my gear. Why not just use a knob, or rotary dial like other car companies. Makes it look better, and much simpler. Leave the little button lever selector just to the parking brake!

+Noah Hoke well thats right, but ITS 20-FIFTEEN!!! Why complain ? While ppl said its not innovative, not modern,not not.. It uses same old tech. When Acura updated it with something simpler like buttons, they say no i like the regular shifter. Why not think this way (imo) round large button for drive, move up a little bit pull back to back up. And up bit more to hit Parking . Just look at it and imaginatively create definitions in ur brain it will learn after a few drives.

Such cheap looking interior materials for a car that will hit $56K with options, ergonomically challenged/confusing center stack that forces the driver to take too much time off the road to operate, underpowered engine given its size, mediorce fuel economy. The all-new Q7 and Volvo's XC90 literally wipe the floor with this thing when it comes to luxury and technology. The only reason to buy the MDX is when you cannot afford the Q7 / XC90 variants. That Acura interior is horrendous -- the quality would look out of place on a sub-$40000 A4/C-Class. The MDX's styling from the side is also boring imo.
