It’s 2024 and today I Just bought a 2016 Pre owned Acura MDX. I am so in love with this car. I’m a short 5’3” and I love how the seat adjusts higher so I can see everything. It’s the smoothest and most quiet vehicle I’ve ever owned. But don’t let that fool you; this thing has some real power. The amount of storage, leg room and space is incredible. The lines on the backup camera that move as you turn the steering wheel is more helpful than just a regular camera and I never knew how much I needed it until now. The only thing I don’t like, is there is no digital read out of the speedometer. Other than that, this is a highly recommended vehicle.

I own a 2016 MDX SH-AWD Advance with the wide screen tv in the back and it is hands down the best vehicle i have ever owned. The power is amazing as is the handling of the vehicle even in construction areas where the road gets a little wild. This car handles so well!!!! I am so glad I purchased this vehicle. I am a huge ACURA fan and this is my second MDX. My original one was a 2004 with 230K on it and she still ran great! Highway reliable and everything. I LOVE MDX!

Thanks Mike. Just purchased my Acura MDX Tech package on Friday and I love it! Your awesome tutorial was very helpful in preparing me to operate my new car like a pro. Still learning how to get on the setting programmed but the main basic stuff I've got down. The pace in which you teach this tutorial was perfect for me. 1st Drove home from Austin in a storm and I wasn't overwhelmed by all the buttons. This is the best tutorial for the 2016 MDX. Hi Mike. Yes this is a nice vehicle. My 4th Acura. Currently I own a black/black 2016 MDX. One of my favorite features is the key fob which not only sets seats for driver 1 and 2 but the radio stations, color of the back ground screens, temperature setting and mirror settings. I've had my MADDOX for 3 months and still learning new features. Maybe I'll visit again as more info is learned about this new member of my family. Great job on your review! dh

We had a 2010 and recently bought the 2016 MDX. We are one hundred percent Acura believers as this is our third. The first MDX went to our daughter after my wife for her first car and after college she sold it to my sister. It’s now at 298000 miles and is used a s a guest vehicle should someone need one. We just gave my wife’s TSX to our youngest daughter so my wife wanted another MDX and here we are. Very reliable, safe, economical as far as gas and one hundred percent a smooth luxury feel. :)

Good video. Many of the front dashboard pieces are plastic for safety reasons. Imagine if you were in a car accident and you shove your face or body part to a metal dashboard. You can get seriously injured. Many of your luxury cars use a lot of plastic knobs and dials for safety issues, not to say they are being cheap. Great Video Mike!

It is definitely an older Acura design, but I still do like this older MDX. Very simple, very comfortable, and love the sound of the Honda 3.5L V6 that we know and love. Most people don't like the dual screens, but personally, it's very easy to use and much more simpler for me, and I appreciate that.

One My great aunts has this car it has the black with tan interior. She has bought this since 2016 and still has it after all these years. Also My great uncle currently has a 2011 GMC Yukon SLT Which is silver with tan leather interior.

Thanks for the review. Very good indeed. I had 2013 MDX and love it. The ride is smooth and sturdy esp. in hwy. After 48000 miles, I had problem with battery. After driving about 50-60 miles stopping the car, the car won't restart. So I took to the dealer. They found out that HandsFreeLink (HFL) drain the battery. So they change HFL.

Very thorough review, thanks. I would expect a high end suv like this to have a much better info/entertainment hud. The style of the controls look like something created in the 90's. And the distance between the control knob and the top screen just seems dangerous. The engineers at Acura should sit in a Tesla. My favorite feature is the 2 pane glass.

I own a 2015 TLX. Have been hunting around for the 2016's to no avail. As far as your video, what's the diff between SPORT/Drive and the Sport through the IDS system? Are they identical? One feature you MAY have left out is the warning from cross traffic upon backing up (if the MDX has it. The TLX does so I assume the MDX does too)

Reading the comments here it seems not all of the 2016 owners are experiencing the transmission issues? Could it be only that it takes time to adjust to this type of transmission or is it really a problem?. Have heard that Acura has provided software update (TSB 15-054 12/22/15) for its trasmission issue and that has mitigated this issue. Can 2016 MDX owners please give some idea if the software update worked for them and that no more transmission issues? Was interested in buying MDX 2017, but transmission problem is the only issue holding me back. Not sure if it will exist in 2017 or not. A 20-30 mins test drive on 2016 last year and didn't experience any trasmission issues.

+Connor Carto My TLX side mirrors auto fold down when backing up. Otherwise it would be manually if you need some extra room. THEY DO ALSO HAVE lcd LIGHTS ON THE BACK TO INDICATE TO DRIVERS IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE which way you intend to turn.

The less gears it has the quicker the MDX get up to speed 🚄 like say 6speed automatic compared to 9speeds correct me if am wrong

Possibly. It depends on how quick the transmission shifts and how much torque the engine has. More gears makes less strain on the engine and helps get better fuel economy though.

I'm pretty sure that in 2014, Acura switched to the 3.5L from the 3.7L. They went from the six-speed to nine-speed transmission with the third generation, too.

New 2016 Honda pilot with the 9 speed automatic is also no good. Almost bought one and thanks to the Piloteers forum I canceled it. Probably the same transmission in these MDX vehicles.

Don't get this car it has a transmission problem I bought my car brand new 2016 advance $60000 After 1 month the transmission started acting weird Took it to the dealer he said there are couple of customers complaining about the same exact thing and that Acure is working on a software update and that was 3 months ago still no update or fix Google :2016 MDX transmission problem Click on one of the links you will see a lot of 2016 MDX owner complaining You will see it for your self

Im driving a 2002 MDX given to me by my father. He changed the transmission when it was his car 2 weeks after it became my car the transmission blew. If youre going to get ANY acura prepare to get a new transmission
