2016 Acura RDX: last reliable car from Honda

I had an Acura Rdx 2014, my Dad bought it from me, now is 10 years old and still strong and super reliable! I want to buy another Rdx but not a 2024 2.0T, I prefer a 2016-18 j35 V6. 😊

Privet, very nice review :) I wanna ask 2 things. Is it this AWD system more reliable than the SH-AWD and for the transmission issu/ weird shifting, I installed 2 weeks ago a VCM desactivation unit (VCM tuner 2) now it’s shift extremely good and no more shaking at all, what do you think about that?

Yes, the car itself is very nice but the transmission tuning is weird, I think. It could be nice and comfortable car but the transmission settings give you the feeling that you drive some cheap 2L. 4-cylinder SUV :-)

AtomicCar Review i think the opposite actually because it feels like it shifts too early but if you tip into the throttle it either lugs or downshifts and you go zooming forward.

What does transmission nervous mean?

All 3 people in the video described the car driving style as “nervous”. Yeah, we don’t use that word that way in the US. I think they mean erratic, the opposite of smooth.

I'm looking at buying a 2014 Honda Cr-V 5-Speed Auto or a 2014 Acura RDX 6 speed Auto, both with 50k miles. Which one do you recommend for long term reliability?

2014 Acura RDX is older car, but if turbo is in good condition, the old disingn of 2.4 liter engine is better. That's why I like RDX more compered to CRV. Also, RDX is much more fun to drive, but it has bad gas mileage. Usually, CRV is super reliable, but I saw a lot of Hondas as Accord or CRV for this model year which burns oil without a reason. At the same time, we have some UBER car drivers who put on this CRV 200K with the first spark plugs replacement at 175k (smiley) If it is possible to check the engine condition and you want a simple and reliable car, I would recommend CRV. RDX has more stable engine quality because they use old engine design. But RDX is more complicated to fix but easy to find in better condition.

@@AtomicCarReview If I decide to buy a CRV I would definitely do a compression test on the 2.4 engine. Some people think Honda's are so great that they don't change the oil regularly!
