2016 BMW 528i | an average guy's review

Here's my honest review of the 2016 BMW 528i with BMW's 4 wheel drive technology- XDrive. The smooth ride, elegant interior and twin turbo performance made me a believer. I also approve of its AWD capability- driving effortlessly through a late winter snow storm in Michigan.

Not a car I would say you would buy for fun, but thats coming from a guy that drives a tuned 5.0 Mustang. But my wife has this car, and far as comfort and drive ,I finally found out why they say BMW is the ultimate driving machine.

Thanks so much for the awesome review! I absolutely love my 528i.....and it truly is the Ultimate Driving Machine! I test drove a Mercedes Benz right before I test drove my 528i. While driving the Mercedes, it was like no big deal. But when I drove my BMW, I was all smiles! So, I slapped my money down on the counter, and Boom! Well, to be perfectly honest, there was no money out down, but my notes are worth every penny! Lol

great video bro! I currently drive a 2016 528i xDrive with the limited edition package that includes a black kidney grill and trim and 19inch rims, my 528xi comes fully optioned and is hands down the best car I've ever owned especially in the winter here in New England (Connecticut) it moves effortlessly through the snow and is a ton of fun to drift around in once you turn off the traction control. I love the content keep it up bro!

What you are saying is partly incorrect. The wood is real (veneers) and you CAN get BMWs with real leather or faux leather (formerly "leatherette" now rebranded as " SensaTec"). Great review!

I love my 528i. Fun to drive, great gas mileage in eco-pro mode, and plenty of get-up. If I didn't have a long commute, I would have the 535i.

I'm comparing 2016 528i to my 2008 535xi that I had. On the 2008 13years later the interior was 100%, when touching the plastics it did not make any crackling sound. The 2016 as of today the plastic feels cheaper and when I touch it does make crackling sound. On the 535 the turbo pull feels great, I don't feel the turbo pull on the 528i it does seem a bit weak. The F10 is definitely more spacious while in the driver seat than E60. I do miss my 1990 520 :D

@@averageguytested I almost bought a great Beemer yesterday until I test drove it and had the exact same problem. the seat adjustments should allow shorter people to move the seat up to a more comfortable and safer position but it does not. Even with my seat cushion that I use in my Audi I still wasnt high enough to see clearly over the dash. You perhaps answered an important question for me and that is, does the 338i and the 5 series give you more options to adjust the seat? Seems like the answer is NO. I will have to buy a thicker cushion if I buy this car. I do wish you discussed other features but maybe thats not what you like to do in your reviews. idk.

Ja M correct but it is a single twin-scroll turbocharger, a lot of people hear "twin" and think it means 2. A twin-scroll turbo gathers exhaust from pairs of cylinders in alternating sequence instead of 1 at a time. The reason for the twin-scroll is to eliminate turbo lag and as a proud owner of a 2016 528i xDrive I can say there is minimal turbo lag but the 256lb ft of torque you receive at only 1100 rpms really puts this car ahead of the previous 6cyl naturally aspirated 528i models in terms of power, speed. It is an awesome car and a great daily driver, I think if you are in the market for a bmw the new 4cyl twin scroll engines are a great option that captures that true bmw feel without costing you an arm and a leg!

BMWs are pricey to repair and aren’t know for being the most reliable vehicles. I’d have it checked out by a mechanic before you buy.

Alan Rohadi by far. Don’t get me wrong, the 535 is a blast with the N54 motor that comes with it is a blast to drive (same motor in the 335), great power from factory. My suggestion for you is to visit the forums online like “Bimmer world” among others where you’ll be able to find various testimonies in reference on this topic. Very helpful info. Just think of the 535 as a “diy wrencher” in order to save a lot of money. Is almost and endless money pit of a car; too much power it everything plastic along w a bunch of electrical gremlins.
