Cars like the M4 are Sedans, not well suited for the racetrack. The M2 is more agile and better in the corners, the small deficit at high speed doesn't matter a lot on racetracks.

Much better than the current generation M4. Still I'd take the GT350 over this and this is coming from a 2011 M3 owner. Also how did you like the crooked seat? BMW cheaped out and angled the seat so its not directly behind the wheel.

Totally different cars. Both are good but this is a lot smaller and more agile. The SS has one hell of an engine but it is heavier and much bigger in size.. They're just two different flavored candies both taste good but in different ways

Nice car, but in that price range, I'd get a Camaro SS Convertible. 455 HP, manual transmission, the adjustable suspension this lacks, is flat-out faster (4.1) and loaded is about $53k, so you have money for extra rear tires that you will light up.

I agree. I owned an M2 and the exhaust was glorious. The M3/M4 exhaust is just plain synthesized and atrocious. It's such a shame because I really wanted the M3, just couldn't afford an $88k car. I love the S55 engine. The M2 had a modded N55 with S55 internals, but at the end of the day, I traded my M2 in with less than a 1000 miles on it. The M2 Competition was a big reason why and also the fact I actually found a dream car of mine and got that instead.

4.4 sec 0-60 mph is not that quick these days. V6 Camry, Accord or Passat can do it around 5.5 sec. Mustang GT or Camaro SS can do it at 4.4 sec also. Sure, 0-60 time is not everything. I was just pointing out 4.4 sec is not that quick these days....

Performance per say, I agree with you. But M2 has MUCH nicer interior, BEST infotainment system, bigger back seats space and way better built quality. Even GT350 has great magnetic suspension, I'd say M2 is still a better choice over GT350 if you only have one car. Love GT350, but I can only(barely) afford one car, that's M2.

+BeefPlays Because of the way of induction, there are turbo lag present which cause a curve like output. In contrast, almost all normally aspirated V8 gives you near straight power output immediately after you step on the paddle, unlike the turbo cars needs to wait for couple of thousands of RPM. Besides, the musical effect of a V8 is undoubtedly better than the high pitch 6 banger.

+Brian Cheung Firstly think TVR Sagaris, no turbos, and yes the power delivery curves of turbocharged engines aren't linear, which really doesn't matter too much. Realistically, city/freeway driving is almost always at low RPM (although sudden overtaking is inhibited) and if you track your car, you're normally in the top half of the tachometer, driving properly. Sound is very much personal preference, that's honestly a blanket statement that doesn't hold true, e.g. America is the world's best country - that's going to be someone's opinion. And also, sound very much depends on how good the engine is and car

56k for a BMW M car is cheap. Muscle cars are all cheap, and it shows in the interior, the way they drive, and the design of key components. The M2 has a very high quality interior that Ford and GM haven't matched yet with their competitors.

No, we only have NA V8 and manual transmission. If you really want a M, go get a E92 M3, just like what my roommates did. why do you care about interior so much? I know Ford's and GM's interiors are not the best, but they are not bad now days. And when I am driving them, I just don't care. Btw, my car doesn't cost thousands of $$$ to maintain. If some thing break on the BMW, it's $1000+. And they do break quiet often.

Qezt Nest In all honesty the M2 is actually a great bargain for its performance. I actually drove one and was very impressed. That's why there is a year waiting list to get one. I do wish the interior was better though. Also a Civic has nothing on the M2. It won't come close. Front wheel drive and rear wheel drive are two different worlds of driving fun. Kicking the rear out with full control is the most fun you can have driving. Front drive torque steer is a killjoy.
