If Buick's gotta build a car in China to bring us affordable but exciting products like this, it shouldn't matter as long as the cars actually hold up over time. GM already does a decent job of building cars in the US, but if people want to see GM afford to create more US jobs with their other brands, they need to have a solid bottom line with Buick - and it just makes sense logistically to build this particular vehicle in China since it is already a well established car in China, and having the production streamlined like that will save lots of money that can be reinvested into making the cars better. But I agree, it would be nice to see more US/ Canadian manufacturing jobs in the future. In the meantime, I can't wait to test drive this car, especially with that AWD system in the snow.

I have a 2016 Envision Premium II Turbo AWD and really love it. Bought it slightly used and had no issues so far. Only thing that bothers me that for 2016 they didn't offer Apple CarPlay and they added that in 2017 but besides that car is awesome.

I liked the idea of something between the Encore and Enclave, but this is still too small. Maybe it's perfect for it's primary Chinese market, but this thing is too small. I visited a dealer last night to take a look at an Envision as the milage and cost is roughly the same as the '17 Lacrosse when comparing trims. I got out of my lowered truck and the Envision is small. I'm 6'4" and I was at or around a foot taller than this vehicle. If I were to compare it in size I'd say it's roughly the size of a Ford Escape. The Encore is a Trax which is smaller than a Escape, but I can't see paying $35k+ on a fancy escape. Sorry, I'm sticking on my '17 Lacrosse plans.

I really don't get all the hate here... it's a great looking car, and hopefully it sells, as far as the made in China business, it doesn't matter any more where you car is put together. robots do most of the work. with any global platform parts sorta come from everywhere and they're usually shared across various makes and models. and this its Chinese so its not safe nonsense; where is your 2yr olds car seat made?... it's probably China lol. so I wish Buick the absolute best success on this one. lest they go the way of the Oldsmobile.

I can't wait for Buick to lose popularity so GM would finally consider killing the brand, if they had kept Pontiac they would have a full portfolio. Cadillac for Luxury, Chevy for mainstream use, Pontiac for performance, and GMC for work and cargo vehicles. There's no need for Buick, simply because even though GM shows Buick as a luxury brand, I never see comparisons to Lexus or Acura like Buick is claimed to compete with. There's no reason to keep it besides its popularity, and when that day happens GM will hopefully bring back Pontiac and finally reach balance with all brands.

Of course, if we were to hear the spin on it from their end, we would be told it makes very little difference. The funny thing is that, as with all crossovers/SUV's, if you took out the ride height difference, you would have a small hatchback that no one wanted, but prop it up and suddenly they sell like hotcakes. @Nestle245
@Nestle245 8 жыл бұрын
This is still tiny, only 4 inches longer than the Encore. For example a VW tiguan is 174 inches in length and that jeep is small They should have atleast made this 180 inches in length to make a bigger difference with the 3 jeeps. Buick went from tiny, to small, to huge. They should've made this a medium sized jeep instead of small like the encore.

@clovisthefirst492
@clovisthefirst492 8 жыл бұрын
headcas620 sigh, once again, a cross over is a car based SUV, SUV does not refer to body on frame vehicles, it stands for SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE. you can read about it here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport_utility_vehicle and from autotrader . *When Is It an SUV? If you're unsure whether your vehicle of choice uses a car-based unibody design or body-on-frame construction, the safest bet is to use the term "SUV." That acronym is still used to describe nearly anything with available all-wheel drive and raised ground clearance, so you'll probably be safe*
@AllNatural7
@AllNatural7 8 жыл бұрын
+clovis myers ~ So would you say a Cross Over handles better than an SUV? Would it hug the road better and be more comfortable to drive during long distance trips? This or either the Encore (I'm only 5'2 with no children) would be my 1st Domestic vehicle and I'm a bit concerned b/c I always said I would never buy an American made vehicle (well, now it looks as these aren't 100% made in the good ole US of A). I was looking at a VW Jetta or a 3 Series BMW, but my mechanic of 12+ years encouraged me not to because they weren't making them like they use to. I've had a Toyota (Cressida - very 1st car) , Honda and now my Nissan for 17 years with almost 243K miles on it. I'm sure I could manage the price tag of a Buick vs. a BMW or Audi. Plus I get to sit higher and see better.
