It should not be this convoluted to add a back up camera. This is now a safety feature on all cars sold in the US. They should make it so once a camera is detected when plugged into the OEM pigtail it should function normally. But instead they design it so you're left with having to go to the dealership at the very least to program the thing at a cost I'm sure will be worthy of their aka alias "The Stealership."

hey i just recently got a charger 2016 sxt, can i add a camera if i got the default infotainment system or would i need to upgrade the infotainment system first? and is it prewired?

Good question. If you do not have uconnect, there is a chance it’s pre wired. I would check with your local Dodge dealer’s parts dept
