I don't know where you so called experts get off telling us which is the best SUV. I tested all these vehicles and found the following best price Pajero sport GLS or exceed. Towing Pajero 3.1 tonnes. The other vehicles under price range has things left off such as sat Nav etc. On testing these vehicles it was found that nearly all gave the same ride. Everest $77000 top range Fortuna middle range $65000 no sat Nav. sorry guys I'll do my own testing.

I had a look just yesterday to Fortuner.... cabin is good looking but so cramped and high... than I checked Land Cruiser Prado GXL, absolutely loved it straightway..... also checked Kluger top of the range ($75,000) loved interior design, fit n finish but third row is so tight that 12 years old kid wont sit in for more thn half an hour..... I'm seriously thinking about Prado at the moment... will have a look at Everest this weekend, Nissan Pathfinder and Land Rover Discovery too....

Been using a Pajero for the past one year - it's a 2016 3.5 liter Platinum Petrol model. I live in the UAE. You can't get a better judging of the off road capabilities of a car than in the middle of the desert. The Pajero wins by far in many tests I have put it through. Even elevated roads - it wins quite smoothly where many "4WDs" struggle. And for the price you pay you get more car!!

Sort of interesting I suppose. Toyota won because it didn't do anything especially well or specially poorly? Also worth noting that for someone like me, who lives not only in a rural area but actually right in the bush, something like the Nissan Patrol may have been more my choice. I have gravel roads, steep decents and climbs, creek crossings and floods to think about, and a real 4x4 like the Patrol can be relied upon for that real off road stuff. Personally liked the sound, but not the look, of the Pajero. Frankly, they all seem pretty good, capable vehicles for your average Joe who occasionally ventures down a bush track.

If you want to buy an entry or base level SUV. Go for Mitsubishi Montero.. In Fortuner most of the features are not installed and the bad color combination of seat and panel. I did my research in Montero and Fortuner, because last week i was planning to buy a SUV. My comment was based on my observation and dealers testimony. And I'm comparing their (basic) base or entry level not the 4x4. FYI. There is no panoramic sun roof on both entry level or basic level of Fortuner and Montero.

My heart is set on pajero sport. The interiors are class above all of them and the safety features are incredible in the top model. I was a bit surprised when you guys chose fortuner when you yourself said that 95% time is spent on on-road by the families. In that case, interiors, driviability and safety should be the top priorities and I think pajero wins in 2 of those categories. Anyways, it was interesting watching it.

The PJ was reviewed in a later vid - once the 7seater was released - and it beat the Toyota. I have had my PJ sport for 2 months - great car on road and off.. Far greater value for money than anything else on the market

Yes - but the point of including it, as noted in the written comparison, is that the Y61 Patrol is potentially owned by a lot of viewers/readers looking to upgrade to a new car. So this way it highlights where improvements have been made - and since the car is still available new, where it may still suit some buyers. Plus Nissan don't offer a pickup-based SUV at the moment.

At the end of the day it’s all about reputation of many years. The Pajero sport may have all the fancy toys and all but it’s about what will last you longer. In my opinion after driving some of the SUVs in the video I would go for the fortuner because it has the best compromise. Instead of being outstanding in just one aspect it’s better to be consistent in all aspects so as to get the best value for money. Yes of course if you get the top of the range Everest you may say it’s better but you have to make sacrifices. Where as to with the Toyota there is less sacrifice to be made.

I was going to carry on a bit but I knew any Toyota product was going to win , they could show up with a 20 year old Camry and still win , obviously getting some kick back boys ! The rest of us know the Mitsubishi is the best mid size wagon going for touring and the mighty Isuzu the most reliable and toughest tow vehicle here . Most of us know it , considering the small amount of Isuzu dealerships , their sales figures are exceptional and had the Sport have a big T badge on the bonnet , it won by miles .

I live here in the Philippines. I checked and watched some of the reviews of this SUVs. Base on what I saw and realized, all of these SUVs has pros and cons. Its just the matter of what you need and contentment. All of them are 7 seater. All of them are capable off road. But if you look closely to their fuel consumption, reliability with the engines, owning them in the long run, you must be very careful in choosing one because there's no perfect car or SUV in the world. Anyway, when I chose and bought our SUV, I chose the Isuzu MUX because of pricing, practicality and reliability in the long run.

From a Dad with a family the Fortuner is not a winner. The back row seats limit boot space and the interior is bland, and the car over priced. Why would you compare the base model Everest with a higher spec more costly Toyota? The Base model Everest is rubbish, however the comparisons here have not been made in price.

You Aussies are very fortunate. The choices here in the U.S. are nowhere near as interesting. Everything is a crossover, virtually incapable of driving through a puddle. The ones which ARE capable are north of $80k, or they don't have amenities and urban chops. Even the Jeep Grand Cherokee is unibody! I'm almost ready to give up. Yeah, I'm aware of the 4Runner. Never in my life have I pictured myself in anything made by Toyota, but it's starting to look like the only possibility.

+Ivan Delos Santos You are right, I would get the MU-X, but not for the interior lol. I don't think buyers in this segment pick the car for its interior, i pick it for reliability, fuel economy and off-road performance.
