My wife doesn’t know it yet but I purchased the G2622T in Torino Green. 😜 I don’t get some of the negative comments about the pickups. For the money, I.M.O., I think they sound great. Clear high and bottoms ends; full, rich, punchy mid-range. In other words, it sounds like a Gretsch! I may, in the future, consider swapping out/ upgrading the pickups to a set of TV Jones Classics or something but for now, in my mind, this is *hands down* the best valued center block hollow-bodied electric guitar on the market. Fight me.

forget about your wife complainin'.....the most important thing to care about is that you have your gretsch....that's the point...to have or not to have your gretsch....i got three telecaster's, one strato and 2 gretsch's, the g2420 and the electromatic jet....and one acoustic fender concord and a spanish guitar.....people would say i've gone mad, believe...they do....but i don't care about what people say....it is my life and my collection makes my life better.....that's the point.....enjoy your gretsch....by the way, after one year....how does your gretsch work???....is it worth it?????

I own and love a G2420. Absolutely amazed by the values It even sounds great acoustically. AndI get compliments on the looks of the gutar. Only thing I've changed is to put dark amber knobs on the controls to make it look even more like a 60 year old jazz box.

I have the 6277 T/WD Jr. Model exactly the one you played in this video. Truly, I can't stop playing and can't stop looking how gorgeous this guitar is. Normally I put my guitars in their cases when not playing, but this guitar is like playable furniture to me, it is set up in the corner of the living room looking gorgeous and all I have to do is plug her in and flip the switch and after work I enjoy my pint and an hour of playing. I highly recommend these guitars....

I own a Streamliner and it is one of the nicest guitars I’ve owned. It is very versatile and I love the tone. I did have tuning issues in the beginning so to remedy that I used guivrafite in the nut slots to help the strings slide freely. Also I worked in my Bigsby by depressing and releasing the bar vigorously until it worked itself in. After that I’ve had no tuning issues. Also I sting my guitar using only two or three raps around the peg no more which allows less slacking and string displacement on the peg. I love my Streamliner and couldn’t ask for a nicer instrument.

I wanted a hollow body and bought an Ibanez artcore online. It was a total POS. Took it into guitar center and traded it for a G2420 and never looked back. The best quality instrument you can get for the price for sure.

I'm looking for a semi hollow below 500, already own a Tele ('79-Usa) and a Les Paul copy, mainly into grunge and post rock and indie rock. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Was just wondering if there's any difference in the action "straight out of the box" between the single cut g2420 and double cut g2622t. Did either of the guitars require any additional set up? Thanks.
@samclark46177 жыл бұрын
Am not sure if there's any setup but I do know something the single cut in this video is a completely hallow guitar and the others are semi hallow bodys.
@ricktherrien82356 жыл бұрын
Matt Mod I own a G2622t Streamliner and no it requires no additional setup after purchase, my Streamliner needed some working in, at first it went out of tune but after I worked in the trem it began to hold tune really well. The Streamliner has nice action and it is great for all kinds of styles of playing. The pickups create a perfect intonation and have great power and crunch. I would recommend a Streamliner to anyone who desires more out of their guitars and who wants classic tone and deep diversity.

Toss up between the G2655 or Epiphone 339 Pro.... I live in northern Thailand so I can order a Gretsch but no stockists so can't try the neck out... Is it fairly flat and thin or fat with bit of radius..? My current line up is a '71 Rickenbacker 360, '57 Paul reissue and late 70's Telecaster, I play sort of 70's rock blues based original stuff and hoping tone wise, the Gretsch would slot in with my current collection and give me a set or unique tones, more than the 339 would.. Thoughts? Thanks and great video, very smooth and nice clean tones

James Somogyi some of the best sounding amps use Celestion speakers such as Crates and Marshall’s, a good practice amp which is affordable is a mini stack by Marshall. I think they come in various wattage but thirty watts is rather good. It is a mini Marshall Stack and is a tiny version of there regular Marshall Stacks, I also think you can add duo cabinets for greater sound. Also Orange amps are good and Peavy to a lesser degree. I hope this helped you.

R.L. Schuurman in my opinion the Gretsch Streamliner is a wonderful guitar and I would chose a Grestch over a Epiphone, not that Epiphones are not good it’s just a Gretsch is a high quality instrument and an Epiphone is more a low end. Although I have owned Epiphones and loved them but my Streamliner is just such a satisfying guitar and has such a great sound. But it all depends on your preference. Hope you find what you are looking for.

hi Bro do you think this guitar could do some Metal stuff as a epi es dot and how you compare this to an American es335 because sounds great to me ? thnx
@ricktherrien82356 жыл бұрын
Alex Ansaldi the Streamliner is very versatile and can match many sound quality’s, the overall action may have a bit to much resistance for good metal licks though. You may prefer a LTD ESP or a Ibanez as they have great metal capabilities. Also the Bigsby Tailpiece is much less dramatic then the tremolo of LTD ESPs or Ibanez guitars and only sways about a step to a step and s half, although it is a floating bridge it would not hold up to the other two guitars I mentioned. And also the tone is less bright on a Streamliner which is a good thing but lacks the high tones of the guitars I mentioned, you may have a harder time performing high pitched sequels and pitch harmonics.

You refer to three knobs by the lower f-hole as three EQ knobs? That's kind of misleading. These are a volume for the neck pickup, a volume for the bridge pickup and a master tone .... the master volume is way up front below the neck pickup (which is a great idea). This is a common standard Gretsch layout. Good demo of these guitars but that little thing kind of annoyed me LOL

@GakCoUk8 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, I think you would struggle with playing metal on this guitar. Only for the reason that the Epiphone is a semi hollow guitar so it can fight against the feedback a little better than say the Gretsch that is a full on hollow guitar. And the pickups are really not voiced towards playing anything super heavy, i think you can get away with a light crunch but not a full on high gain. I HOPE THAT HELPS, Joss
@detectivesargeantbrucerobe60468 жыл бұрын
Both G2622 and G2655 are semi-hollow guitars with center block to help with the feedback. They are not fully hollow. I use a G2622 and use quite heavy distortion and it sounds amazing.
