Great review! I just bought the sedan version, i touring trim level, and I LOVE this car! Even 8 years later, this car is great. The cloth seats held up to the test of time very well. It drives & shifts smooth as silk with 93k miles on it. I've been averaging 34 mpg. Such a fun car. I have the Bose stereo system, and it sounds so good. I bought this car as a temporary until i buy a new CX-50, but I think I will just leep driving this one for a few years.

Good choice! Wait and save up until the car industry prices get back to normal.

I have this car and bought it new. It's a late 2016, built in Mexico (I wish I'd gotten a Japanese one). I should note, aside from the hatchback, I got the basic model. Although I haven't checked the actual mileage per gallon in any technical sense, I seem to be filling up more than expected, although I'm happy it takes regular gas because California gas prices SUCK. Its engine torque is just adequate. Definitely not punchy nor wholly lacking. You just have to compensate a little by really hitting the accelerator when you need it. What you gain in cosmetic style, you lose in bumper protection, especially in the front-end. The car sells itself in exterior design but its vulnerable in a traffic-y town and that's something that scared me from the start. Lots of composite pieces "protecting" the outer car --keeps the car light and performing to spec. You can't win. Always trade-offs and they did a good job of reigning in the ego with the looks of this car. The control center on the dash is OK. I don't hate it. But what does irritate me is that they don't have a navigation system. You have to buy it and spend more just to have it. That omission just seems like stingy, bad-customer relations. Lastly, the warranty, while attractive on the surface, is cool until you realize that the cost of simple maintenance items, like air filters are over-inflated on the order of about 3x. They wanted 70.00 to install an air filter for the engine, for example. ...and they call installing your own from a third party a "gray area of possible warranty voiding consequence"... Makes you nervous enough, right there. That's a gouge heavily and that's partly why I'm writing this review.

How’s it going? I recently got one too (made in mexico as well lol) and I like it. It’s true that you need to floor or press a little bit more on the gas pedal to actually gain more acceleration, idk why but it is what it is lol. But overall is a good car, i got it form carmax with 57k miles on it.

I take it you liked your car but with minor conveniences? Would you buy another Mazda because the new Mazda 3 hatchbacks are super slick.

@@Jay_Rule Looking back, I think it was and is better-than-average car. I'm not a big fan of the dealer service, because of some jacked-up prices on maintenance!. But that's the deal you make with a new car.

The GT models are sooo cool. Got a 2006 GT manual and 2008 GT manual in Montréal's winters. Best car ever. You'll never get stuck in snow, ice or whatever. Very responsive and decent power. You can smoke a lot more expensive sport cars...With a hatchback... Lollll. Problem is that it isn't for tall people and the driving/passenger seats are very low, so you kind of struggle to get-in/out.

It's a cool car for sure. I'm in the market for a luxury SUV.

Great reviews 👍 keep it up I used to had 2003 Mazda Protege 5 also a hatchback which I love had besides having suspension issue I'm looking for one 2016 Mazda 3 hatchback it would be huge upgrade. I'm deciding between 2007 Lexus IS250 excellent condition sports style with AWD heated and cool seats navigation or 2016 Mazda 3 hatchback . I can't make my mind 🤔both are awesome cars.

Hard to choose between a luxury and a newer model. Lexus is probably more reliable but the newer Mazda will prob have less chance of issues considering it has lower miles. Good luck on what you decide.

This is a good question that i got...are u able to switch the radio and put a new radio??? Like lets say i dont want that mazda stereo that it got n i want to put a pioneer one from best buy...can i switch it??

I don't own that car but I can't imagine why not. Car Toys might know more.
@Geritopia6 жыл бұрын
You can probably figure out a way to do it but it's not going to be easy. The radio is integrated with the screen navigation system... it's like a central control for everything. Put an 8-track in and get the double-takes you crave.
