A few facts for new 2016 CX-5 owners (If you are buying a used one) A. You have to pay $80 to upgrade your GPS Maps every 3 years though Mazda or just use your phone for gps. B. Keep your cup holders clean and don't store coins in the compartment hole next to the cup holders. Grease builds up in time. C. Make sure you close the back hatch, sometimes it does not close properly D. Replace all motor and fan belts after 50k E. Make sure you change your oil transmission fluid, If you never did Mazda will tell you leave it alone then. Then get a 3rd party specialist to do a workaround. Not Jiffy Lube. Invest in the $$$ F. After 100k replace the suspension. Order Mazda Genuine parts. If you order Monroe the ride will feel different. G. To replace the rear brake pads get a specialist. This requires a special task in replacing them. Reseting the computer, Etc. H. Change your battery every 2.5 Years I. After 100k get your oil change every 4000 miles K. If you have women in the car they tend to scratch the Glove Compartment with their sharp heels on the passenger side. You can buy one on Ebay for $100..The Glove Compartment L. Never let the front passenger put their feet up on the dash, the CX-5 has a beautiful interior, show some respect plus its dangerous if you get into an accident, M. Pay loading: When you open the back, fold down your seats and start loading up your car with camping, beach or furniture sharp objects, be careful not to scratch up your interior back doors and handles. O. If your Key-Fob says low battery get it replaced right away or you will run into problems. The battery is only $4 P. Get yourself a drill lug nut remover cost $85 on Amazon. Keep it handy in your trunk to replace that flat tire on the road. That crowbar ain't gonna help removing the lug nuts. And last....Thieves can see your belongings through the back window of your trunk. I suggest you cover all your belongings with a bed cover.

As a recent owner of the 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring, I couldn't be happier. Worth every penny, luxurious and affordable. I test drove the Jeep Cherokee, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Toyota Rav-4. All competitors fell short in performance and bang for buck, albeit I did lose a couple MPGs by going with the higher power engine. Still, the technology and patchwork luxury makes this my favorite car in the class for 2016, and I don't mind that it's a mid-cycle refresh. The Grand Touring looks and drives far beyond it's class and price-range.

Lets not kid ourselves, you didn't drive all the cars you mentioned lol please!! Hyundai tucson is a far better compact suv. Reasons why mazda cx5 is behind the hyundai tucson. Lists include: - no automatic tailgate?? - no rear air vents?? - no cooling seats?? - small boot space?? - you can't pull back the rear seats?? - no auto wipers?? - you have go manually pull the roof cover for the sunroof?? Ect Ect....you can't beat the full panoramic roof, 8inch touch screen and the exterior in the Hyundai tucson is far better.
@akipadre9752
@akipadre9752 9 жыл бұрын
Is that what you say to all the people who talks the truth that Hyundai tucson has gotten the mazda cx5 beaten? Unfortunately I'm Australian, and here I have to fork out $57k for a mazda cx5 akera, with no power tailgate, no rear air vents, no cooling seats, no lane assist, no automatic windscreen wiper, small boot space, you have to slide open the cover for the sunroof manually? You can't adjust backwards the rear seats, no panoramic roof, the list goes on. Sorry mate, you lose, haha!!

+Alex Eu oh ok, my bad I must be lying and Mazda CX-5 does have a rear air vent, it does have a power tailgate, it does have a cooling seats, it does have a automatic wiper, it's got a big boot space. Haha, now tell me again that I'm lying and Mazda CX-5 has all that features and much more? Fail much.

+Alex Eu How is it unreliable!? And what do I do with the HUNDREDS of CDs that I own that I wouldn't be able to listen to in my new car? Not only do a lot of newer cars not have CD players, they don't even provide a place to have one installed! I just passed on one of the top cars on my search list, the Chevrolet Equinox, for just that reason. So Chevrolet just lost a potential sale because they don't offer, or even offer an option for a CD player. I think that is INCREDIBLY stupid on their part. Let the customers make their own choices on an option like this.

Bought the 2016.5 CX-5 on November 25, 2016. Extremely happy with it too. Great looking car and the gas mileage from the 2.5l engine is superior! Mine is jet black and I get a lot of compliments on it! Very little interior noise and as smooth on the highway as you can get. I am planning on keeping it for over 100 k. I’ve had this used model since July 2020 and I’m still in love with many things this vehicle has to offer. I love the blind spot monitoring and the back up camera. For a larger vehicle, it’s actually pretty fun to drive Something that bothers me greatly is the AC vents. The middle blows three times as hard as the sides and it is unbelievably difficult to feel the air from the sides as opposed to the middle. I’m in Texas so it’s an important feature for me Upgrading from a 2006 Corolla S to this was easy besides the fact that financially I had to forego a sun roof lol definitely missing that aspect of the Corolla but it’s nice to try different things

We leasing '16 grand touring, so far so good! we also looked at Rav4, Escape and Equinox. Other than Escape having more power w/ ecoboost, CX-5 came out the winner in our opinion. The other 3 had noticeable quality issues, which was the biggest factor. Besides quality, CX-5 also had the best handling.

+XxMetalGorxX Driving in North America is unlike Germany. Few cars have tires rated for sustained high speeds. Max. posted limits average 110kph. From Vancouver,B.C. to New York takes Four days of driving well over the speed limits [ 3,300 MILES]. Cruising at 200kph would result in arrest AND JAIL.

2016 CX-5 GPS PROBLEM Does any body know when Mazda will resolve the real-time "traffic update" feature on its new (2016) NAVTEC GPS for the CX-5? The option doesn't work (it is gray), so alternate route(s) are not displayed when traffic delays, congestion, accidents, detours, road construction, etc. are encountered on a planned route.On the previous CX-5 models (2014; 2015), the TomTom feature was called "traffic alert" and it worked (most of the time).

After using Cx-5 for two months these are my review :D Pros: Mileage : Short distance 25.5 Highway : 29 Blind spot monitor is very helpful Space cons : Due to mileage concentration on cx-5 some times you will feel it needs more power mostly uphill roads, you need to press that sports button to get back power.( you can do manual shifting need to do more research on it ) they need to work more on sound isolation Over all its a great car , for the price i payed its worth .

I have done routine things as they wear out but everything has lasted what the auto industry said it would. eg. brake pads, shocks, tires, spark plugs Mine is one of the “Ford” models but was made and built in Japan which i think made the difference.

Not quite sold on this yet. I could almost forgive that "too long" looking hood area if this car came with a manual transmission in AWD and the 2.5 liter engine. I might be able to forgive the manual transmission ONLY being available with the smaller engine but then I'm stuck with that long front end snout which is two strikes in a row. I think Mazda should work on "Cab-Forward Design" with some of their newer models like the CX-3 and CX-5 so that the front end doesn't take up so much of the total length of the car. A shorter front end would not only add to interior cabin room but also give the car a more balanced appearance.
@tousshong9438

When I checked all the other 2016 Cx-5 seat heater button, they are mounted on the dash above the climate control system. I was looking into the all new Motor Trend Truck of the year aka CR-V touring but the reviews push me wide away from it ao instead got a brand new GT model of this almost 1,000 miles later = fun fun fun in it's own way

Samuel Campana Never used sport mode. I use 87 Octane either shell or Arco. I also drive very smooth. come from 2012 Mazda which had amazing MPG so this is frustrating.

irandoosty ah I've never like Shell but never heard of Arco where I'm at, which model do you have? Was it brand new?, bc it matters a lot the first 500 miles for break in and how the system will perform MPG wise.

Samuel Campana I have 2016 GT FWD Tech Package sonic silver. I bought it brand new . I have around 600 miles on it and I do mostly city driving. What MPG do you get?

Unfair MAZDA, you have stepped in in the exterior LED lighting ESPECIALLY the fog lamps being LED what a LIGHT! WIth he exception of the rear seating non USB/AC ports or adjustable seats in rear its definitely getting there. Now just bring that front nav size to BMW size or BIGGER (theres a lot of room for a 12" like mercedes:) but great on the 3d nav maps:)

Can anyone tell me how the air conditioning is on the 2016 CX-5? It's very hot in the summer where I live, and if I understand correctly, there are no a/c vents for the rear as in many other vehicles.

+chewsir Thanks for your reply. I have bought a different make car which does have vents in the rear, but I'm not sure how much it helps, because the front vents blow very forcefully and the rear vents only get "leftover" force. I'll keep your information in mind for next year, though! I bought an entry level, front wheel drive other make wagon because I was desperate with my old car failing while I vacillated. :o) Maybe next year the CUV!

@ilmjcxj8064 3 жыл бұрын
@@karle0822 The OEM one costs around $170. You can order a good quality aftermarket one for about $50 to $80 from RockAuto. And you can install it yourself, just watch a KZbin video on how to do it. As I said earlier, the car is great and I would buy it again. You can buy 2017+ model years as the blower on those is not the same as the 2016 and earlier years.
