honestly i have thought about your older video about the best overall vehicle and my vote has to go to econoline now, everything about it is 5/5 except comfort and gas mileage, every single model is indestructible, they are dirt cheap to buy and the parts and repair cost is just outrageously cheap on them, you can change an entire transmission in an hour or two, any E350 and hell mots E150's can carry 2 guys, tons of materials and equipment and tow a trailer at the same time if you need

Wanted a metris but got a transit. All I can say is find what you can. $34k is the new $24k.

Still drive my long wheel base 2018 Metris. Hard to believe it’s only a 4 cylinder. This engine and transmission is a workhorse. 120,000 km,s so far.

I've got a 2020 short wheel base and I have no real complains other than the premium gas, bad radio antenna and that the stock speakers are very weak. Best work van for a single person contractor.

We use a '98 ram 2500 magnum with system one racks.. going to add on an '88 gmc StarCraft vanagon 2500.... Not enough money for newer vehicles yet! Is the 2 liter turbo really capable of hauling stages, ladders, and tools?

I drove one from 0-99k miles first few months of ownership the Mercedes metris had a fuel line problems they finally fixed through warranty at about 2k miles and it's been.good. the door latches stopped holding doors at about 85k miles then started working again the door latch would not let the door shut.other then that loved it cargo space was the best.the guy is spot on

Same thing with my company the passenger door was replaced because of an accident and then one day the latch didn’t latch I had to hold on to it until we got to our next stop then I think we sprayed it with WD40 and it’s all good now.

But It’s 4 cylinder car! Still will be better gas mileage and cheaper than almost anything competition drives and almost anything 6 cylinder

@@RoofingInsights3.0 money savings from gas mileage is a ghost, old reliable vehicles that are dirt cheap and keep going almost always outperform newer fuel efficient vehicles dollar per dollar especially once you figure in the cost to buy, repair, maintain and depreciation

Premium is highly recommended, but you can do regular. Me personally I always done Premium from new, just better pickup.

@@christopher6161 I went that route and regretted it dearly. I about an 2003 ford Econoline with 123k miles thinking it was a bargain at $4k. I ended up putting 5k in repairs and then still had to repair two new engine leaks, which my mechanic said a new or rebuilt engine was the better decision - no way on a 20 year old vehicle. I sold that money pit and got myself a newer 2014 model with 23k miles. This one coste 26k, but I don't worry about being left stranded anymore. I will never buy an old used vehicle again.

I've owned a 2016 Metris like this one but a little more 'loaded'. I agree with the guy about the OEM backup camera (which comes standard now). Also Blind Spot sensors has been the best option I've paid for. Many Metris owners have complained about the lack of wide angle mirrors and the BSS has saved my ass a few times over the years. If you are going to tow or ever think you will, get one with OEM trailer hitch. It includes some features you can't get with aftermarket tow hitch, such as Trailer Stability Assist programing with the computer ESP and tow hitch ball aligning with the backup camera/monitor. Plus anything aftermarket gives the van lower rear ground clearance. Maintenance cost have been surprisingly low. Still love this van and no plans to get rid of it.
