2016 Polaris RZR 1000 XP Starter Sprag Clutch Change!! mini Mountain Dew skit in the video!!!!
The starter clutch sprag was starting to slip, so i decided to shoot a video on changing one out incase any of ya'll are doing the same. This video is to help along with the process to see what needs to be done.

Did mine and now it turns over and starts fine but its got a hell of a racket when turning over but goes away when it starts.

Changed my one way because I could hear the started just spinning. After changing it it would not start and I now got a code 636 2. So I bought a new cps. Still wont start and the code is still there. I've cleaned the ground plugs checked fuel pump presure which is good. Still won't start.

Little Allen bolts holding the 1way bearing the the flywheel broke. Thats what mine did. New bearing new bolts

No gasket when reinstalling the cover?

No need for it. Certain cases you'll have to use a gasket. But with gasket, it has just that much more clearance to create a leak. If the surfaces are real clean and your able to just silicone, you better off with silicone. Majority of honda come now siliconed. It hold better from leaks.

Also I’ve heard if these go bad it will effect the injectors not receiving power for it to fire? Only asking because I’m having issues with my 16 xp 1000

Hmm not im not sure on. If it dont rotate fast enough maybe the stator cant create enough voltage to supply to the injectors

My starter is spinning but only turns the motor for about a second then just sounds like it spins but stops turning the motor over. Do you thing I need to change the one way? It’s throwing a code for crank position sensor.

Sorry about the late reply. Yes, most likely the one way bearing. If the starter continues to rotate strong but the sounds like its slipping while turning the motor over. It should be the one way.

Hello so I have a 2018 xp 1000 turbo and I’m having a problem my starter when out on me the power cable that’s connected to the starter got hot and melted the cover now it will not turn on. What could it be and I just replace the starter 4 months ago

Either something in the motor is binding. Check to make it roatates freely. Rotate a few roatation while feeling it through. That ok, then make sure connection, the wire, and battery. Something is causing high amperage. The wire is only rated for so much amps

Hard starts and can damage the gear.

U can do this without draining the oil.. just lift that side of the bike up a little

His oil was time to change it, so I ended knocking out 2 birds with one stone!

That part I have no clue. That bike was for someone. I have that Turbo S but the XP did ride like shit
