BUYER BEWARE ! Toyota Frames RUST through ! I have a 2007 Tacoma and the frame is a rusty piece of shit. Toyota refuses to do anything to make it right. Look up Rusty Frames Tacoma ! You find thousands of Tacoma owners with the same problem. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA AGAIN ! If you have frame rot on your Tacoma post every place

I bought the TRD Sport. Here's a brief feedback: Looks Aggressive and it really caught the eye of people when you drive around that is a fact. If it is more aerodynamic or not, I really can't say but it is quite quiet inside the cabin and it is nice on the highway. It is very comfortable for average size/height people, if you're a big guy I'm not so sure 'bout it. Nice interior perks for a truck (Touchscreen Panel, Navigation, etc.) Now what about the engine ? Well it is quite early to declare a verdict on this Atkinson Cycle Engine, but I can tell it is noisy, not so sure if it is because the valve system on this one, but you'll hear this peculiar ticking noise and it can get e little bit annoying if its get too much of your attention. You can hear it clearly in this video when the guy opened the hood. If you search for "Tacoma 2016 engine noise" at youtube you'll definitely hear what I'm talking about. Other than that it feels quite good, don't expect an impressive acceleration; but it can go up a hill quite strong. I'm still testing the MPG, but so far I've achieved 28-29MPG on highway with premium gas (91oct), with regular not more than 22MPG. I'm a patient driver though, haven't "pedal it to the metal" yet. Anyway my driving experience with this one had been enjoyable. Transmission responded as I expected, semi-auto shifting works great. I don't know what else to say, but feel free to ask questions.

+c1sc0m I'm looking to buy a tacoma. I am single and don't have a family but I'm torn between the access cab and the double cab. I prefer the V6, but if im going to spend 30k on a truck; the double cab is only like a grand more.

looks like Toyota got their brains semi back in tune by getting rid of the radical looking fender wells that started back in 2005 through 2015...bout time Toyota...maybe now I will think bout buying a new one this year...

The 2016 Tacoma still has drum brakes in the rear, compared to the Nissan Frontier which has 4 wheel disc brakes. Toyota, I’m not impressed.

Drum brakes are better for off roading, they're less susceptible to damage from mud/sand/rocks than disc brakes. Tacomas are known for their off road capability, and I'm glad Toyota sticks to that.

Stephen Bickmeyer who gives a rats ass about offroading which most people prob do Less than 5% of the time. Its cheap, toyota knows it's cheap and that's why they did it. Wake the F'up man. I'd buy the Nissan, whoops already did. Woot woot.

+ebuff57 Drum brakes must be less maintenances and more profitable than disc brakes that why Toyota engineers put on the Tacoma rear's brakes for drums.

Access Cab would be Ok if you will use it for work. But if you just like trucks and lets say you occasionaly go out with friends, double cab would be your best choice. Believe me.
