That fitment is freaking perfect! I honestly wasnt thrilled about the 5 spoke before you mounted them, but seeing all that caliper; definitely looks better than stock. Good choice

These actually look really good in black on your silver car. I've seen these in gold on WRB cars and wasn't a fan, but your combo works super well. The one thing I like about your vids is how you lay out details really well. Take the tire sizes for example...you list both the old and new wheel and tire sizes multiple times which is super good. Keep on truckin' man!

Looks great! The five spoke look is a lot better on the newer wrx's and sti's than the previous models. Some drilled/slotted rotors would look dope behind those wheels.

very nice set up , I'm thinking of a set of the Enkei VR5 18x8, 40 Offset I like the way those tires fill your wheel wells, I prolly use my stock tires

Nice! Just a note, 8" wide is a half inch smaller than stock, your stock tires will work, but they'll actually be smaller wheels over all and with the +40 offset but lower width, you may actually have them sitting around the same place they were before.

It looks great! Driving your STI hard and fast and those wider tires will shine the most. Scrub radius may have increased some with that offset that's affecting your steering feedback.

Looks good! I've been trying to find wheels that'll clear the STI brembo brakes, allow running 265/35/18 tires, no spacers and all on stock suspension. Anyone have any suggestions or better yet pictures?

Great video, man. Love the wheels! Just an FYI but the first number in the tire rating (265/35) ... 265 is 265 millimeters in tire width. The 2nd means 35% sidewall (=35% of 265 = 92.75mm = 3.65"). Same with offset - it's in millimeters (55mm vs 42mm).

Michael Broski those will add diameter of the socket and for some tight holes inserts it will srill rub and create heat on the sides of the hole and will scratch the paint.i've been using my socket wraped with electrical tape and does the same job as to protect and prevent scratches.so why bjy that piece of plastic if u can just buy a piece of ELECTRICAL TAPE that does the same and cheaper

Excellent wheel choice. So mot not using tpms sensors won't have any negative effects? With the tpms light on in my car, stability control won't turn off, but it's also a Honda Fit.

No, only the annoying light and the fact you now have to check your own tire pressure! I am keeping the stock wheels and tires though to run periodically. Subaru's can only remember 4 sensors so I'd have to pay to get them reset every time I swap them. My winter set doesn't have any tpms sensors either!

+T-WRX I hear ya. I've swapped my sensors in between winter & summer tires and didnt have to reset them, they just start working again. That's my dealing with the pesky things anyway. Again, love the wheels. They look amazing!

UPDATE: Remember how I told that I'll still be searching for a e36 m3? I literally spent the last month or saw searching for one but I never found one Which is in a good condition, most the ones that I found were very high mileages and Automatics...Surprisingly, I found a 2001 bmw 540i e39 6 speed with a sport package it had about a 120k miles and it was in great condition so I did settle for it after all 😄

Playback was fine. They look good and I like the wider stance tires but I like the stock rims better, but it's your car. ;) I think I will try to go slightly larger on the stock rims. If you track it you need to do a comparo on the old vs new, though I think that better rubber will make more of a difference more than the width. There are a few vids out there comparing rubber tire compounds and suspension vs stock, but I don't think that there are any that go into if there is a benefit of having marginally wider tires. Hopefully you don't have many potholes in your area as the lower sidewalls could cause some issues. I dinged one of my rims"apexing" the curbs around here... ID10T error. I love the "weight savings' part. If I pee before I go to the track I can get that weight savings. LOL! :) Being 6'5" 270 lbs, weight saving starts inside the car for me. I don't worry about 1 or 2 lbs on the wheels, or anyplace else. Good info on the width. The cars is looking good!

A couple pounds of wheel weight can make a fairly large difference actually. Much more so than not eating lunch the day before etc. It's rotational mass, the car has to rotate and stop those objects. That is why I provided that sort of feedback, saving a few pounds on your wheel setup is actually a big deal for some people! But yeah street driving you'll never really see huge benefits I guess. I certainly understand the rotational mass effect of wheels, I ride a motorcycle on the track as well. No doubt, it's good info for the track guys, but I know a lot of people (esp in the bike world) that get caught chasing 1 or 2 lbs at very high costs when a much greater difference can be made by fine tuning yourself. Even with one or two pounds removed from the wheels helping me slow down, accelerate or turn in, I think I'd get better performance value out of dropping 20 pounds on me.

Actually ended up going with an 18x8.5 +40 with a 255/40. The wheels are just barely sunken in but the tires give it a flush look. Thanks for the response!!

I think this is about as big as you can go 18x9.5. Depending on the offset you may be able to get 18x10. I've seen 19's as well but they are massive.

Would you need to flash the ECU for it?? Since you went from 40/R18 to 35/R18, the circumference technically got shorter. So would the computer mistake the mileage ?

The 2nd number is actually a percentage of the tire width. So the wider tire but smaller percentage makes the over all circumference very close. Close enough to be off less than a half mile per hour at 60 mph. No ecu tune required!

Yes you can! You still need to make sure it'll clear the brakes though! The main issue with the brakes is the spoke clearance.
