Those look amazing! I went with 4" muffler nameless axlebacks (local in the Pacific Northwest)so I went with them, and nothing beats downshifting and hearing that pop! Hope you are enjoying them so far and glad you are back to posting.

Thank you so much for this video. I remember when I bought my 2014 STi and I was thinking about getting the SPT exhaust system. Thanks to your video I'm glad that I never did. I had no idea that the exhaust flanges and tubing were different on the SPT system. I would have loved to also get a Delta Motorworks axle back muffler delete for my car but unfortunately, they only make kits for 2015+ STis. So, I had to get a Nameless Performance kit instead. My car now sounds exactly the same as your car though so I'm very happy with my purchase. I went with the double wall 3.5 inch tips since I didn't want to change the look of my car too much from stock. At last the Subie rumble has been unleashed! As others have said, it's loud but not to the point of attracting unwanted attention from the police. As long as I keep the RPMs below 5000, it's not too loud. It's certainly nowhere near as loud as the guys with the modified Harley Davidsons. Thanks again!

awesome pipes man i just replaced my SPT with a nameless cat back muffler delete 3.5" non staggered tips single wall (sounds the same as yours) i love that its less deep drone in the car and more noise directed at the back of the car....best mod ever lol!

Nice! I went with Nameless for the delete catback. I purposely leave the tips dirty as to try and not catch attention though. The only thing was the fitment sag...but you helped me address that with the yellow hangers: )

I've got the SPT exhaust on my 2012 WRX. I love it for driving around town, but it definitely drones on the highway. It seems like your muffler delete setup might be an interesting alternative. Looking forward to your driving impressions. Thanks, Chuck!

I have the Nameless catback with the 5" mufflers and it was good until I put the downpipe on, now it's too loud (imo). It sounds great and howls at wot, but it's almost too much as a daily and definitely does not pass the wife test! Good luck and I hope you enjoy them!

The DMW exhaust is by far the meanest note that i've heard yet, it's awesome! My only concern is it being too loud.... In your talks with them do you think they would custom make a set with a small muffler? It might not be as bad on my FA20, but still.... The only other set that comes close to this are the Nameless axle backs, most of the rest sound too tin can under acceleration. Can't wait to see the full review!

I'm think of changing my exhaust for something louder. I currently have the Invidia N1 cat back as well as a aftermarket down pipe. I feel the exhaust needs to be louder and I would assume the easiest way would be to get an entirely different cat back? Just was curious on thoughts and options.

Real good seeing you uploading again, Chuck! Sounds so badass, but wonder what it sounds like with the FA20! I've always been hesitant getting muff delete for inspection reasons. I hear it's ok from some ppl and then not okay from others. Any thoughts for someone like me who might wanna pull the trigger on these despite the VA inspection laws on no muffs on exhausts?

I've heard that you mess with the cat's you have a big problem but state inspections/emissions don't care about the mufflers. Technically you can get a ticket for the noise, but I'm hoping that they leave me alone. I mean the SPT setup was "stock" and was pretty loud.

Yeah, CBE/TBEs for sure, but ABEs should be good, just wasn't too sure about having deletes. Thanks for your input! I'm definitely going to pull the trigger on an exhaust soon :D

Had a '13 STi hatch with an Invidia Q300 that I unfortunately had to get rid of in '15... But fortunately I was able to lease a '17 STi and HAD TO put a Nameless muffler delete on it. I honestly don't know how you can not put an exhaust on the 2.5 Hoping Subaru comes out with something good for '20.

I kinda/sometimes regret getting the SPT exhaust option form the dealer and could have saved $450 dollars. But at least if I get pulled over for loud exhaust, I can say its stock : ) Loudest exhaust you can get for your car from factory. You never know with these Virginia Cops they can be pretty aggressive with things on your car. But don't get me wrong I would swap my exhaust for a muffler delete in a heart beat. Good Luck my Friend.

In June i bought a '17 sti limited with the factory performance exhaust and the drone is sometimes unbearable. I had a '11 sti limited that i put on straight through mufflers and dont remember the drone being bad. So i think with this new sti i will get this package "R1R exhaust for Subaru Impreza WRX / STi 2015-ON" if anyone has this set up let me know. I like it to be a little loud outside but i also like to be able to talk to my passenger.

As long as you keep your stock cat the sound levels are tolerable. I went catless 3 inch invidia downpipe with muffler deletes, biggest mistake ever. Once you remove the cat this high pitch vtech like noise starts to happen around 3k rpm, fucking LOUD. Legit lost hearing until I bought some cheap ebay mufflers to tone it down.
