Nice !! I am so happy that you filmed this Autoroute my friend. It was also in my plans, but it's so easy for me to get there, that I wasn't in a hurry to make it lol Anyway, it looks very nice in a road video. What is rather surprising for someone who never visited this area, is that most of it looks as developped as southern Quebec even if it's a remote region. I think it's an exception in this province for remote areas like that. This place also has a micro-climate that may explain a couple of things about how agriculture is well developped up there too. Great stuff Scott !

I was surprised how developed the area was too. I'd never been up that far in Quebec before. This was the last autoroute I needed to drive to finish the system, which was a nice personal milestone for myself. I drove R-381 back south after I filmed this video. Route 381 is epic. I was super impressed by it.

I agree it is Epic ! My province is full of surprises :) Did you filmed other videos during this trip ? I also like how you can see the Québec City Skyline from Route 138 when you're going Westbound back from Charlevoix.

yeah, i filmed a bit around Montreal, and a bit in eastern Quebec as well.

0:42 the discontinuous section of A-20 from west of Rimouski east to Mont-Joli is actually the northernmost section of autoroute in Québec; it is _slightly_ further north latitude-wise. But that's an undivided "super-two" which should ultimately connect with the main section of A-20 that starts west of Trois-Pistoles and northeast of Rivière-du-Loup. I'm not sure if all of this existed back in 2017, but I'm pretty sure the Rimouski bypass is a lot older than that. It is correct that A-70 is the furthest-north Québec autoroute with its own number, and is also the furthest north four-lane divided autoroute... at least until A-20 near Rimouski gets twinned.

Beautiful drive! I was very surprised to see an autoroute in northern Quebec. I was always under the impression that the autoroutes are in southern/central Quebec. Seems to be a very modern and smooth freeway, especially considering the harsh winter weather I'm sure it receives.

thanks for watching. I was impressed by Autoroute 70 -- it was a better quality road than I was expecting. What surprised me the most was just how much of it is continuously lit.

I agree. Having nearly continuous high-mast lighting (from the QC-170/Laterrière exit to Rue Saint-Hubert) is quite unexpected for a freeway in such a remote location. Though as a medium-sized city, Saguenay is only "remote" in the respect that wilderness separates it from Québec's major cities in the Saint Lawrence Valley. Essentially the whole Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean area is an "oasis" in the middle of the Canadian Shield.

2:05 I live 15 minutes south of here. Btw, I think that a 3rd lane between Boul. Talbot & Boul. du Royaume would be great

Definitely one of my favorite, I'm living in Saguenay. Thanks for the video. By the way, can you do the Route 175 - Saguenay to Quebec City?

Nice ride. I've been to Chicoutimi a couple of times but only passed underneath 70.

Thanks for watching and the kind words. This was my first time to the Chicoutimi Region.
