This is a problem I have as well. It's $5000 to replace my worn out DPF system which WILL fail again. Or, I can delete the truck and quadruple my reliability for $2000 and never have to worry about the DPF system again. Tough choice.

So, I just bought a 2017 F250 with 140k miles on it. It's got lots of power and is loaded with every option. I was talking to a friend about deleting it because he did his. Said it took half a day doing it in the driveway. It looks to me like I can do it myself with no help in about 2-3 hours. I about absolutely LOVE this video!!! It was exactly what I needed to see. @hellbilly1556 I did a delete the simple way. There's a KZbin channel named Colt's Way. I used his method of unplugging three plugs connections under the hood and removing the massive section of the exhaust, the center, missile looking thing that I guess is where the DEF is injected. Anyway, I removed that and straight piped in 4" pipe. Put a tune on the engine for 120 HP and left the transmission alone. Been driving it for over a year like this, and I like the results. I drive a lot, so I kept the original factory tires on it.

I just did this project. The way you described the process was spot on. The straps under the body worked great for a single person removing the muffler. It only took an hour. No matter how many plugs you disconnect, you will miss one, I promise. I had issues getting the downpipe unbolted. Stupid me was stripping our the 15mm that is part of the flange. PSA, don't ask a muffler shop.

@@roberttowne2871 keep your old muffler and put it back on then tell your EZlync to run OEM tune. It sucks, but it only take around an hour then an hour to take it back off again.

Just like all the other government overreach bullshit, it's all for money, They make money regardless, A shop deletes a truck? Sued, everyone keeps their trucks stock? They make money on the taxes for the now more expensive trucks, they make money on taxes from the very common repairs due to unreliable egr systems, they make money on tax from def, they make money on emissions testing and charging people for that. Delete it yourself? Good on you, One of the few willing or capable to do so if you can even get the shit to do it which is becoming a fortune as well because EPA is suing people that sell the shit too but don't live in cali or another commie state or you won't be keeping it long. PLUS tickets for even more government money if you manage to delete it but get caught.

I used this video to delete my 2018 F250 power stroke. I used an SCT X4 tuner. It has the tow, daily, race and hot tune. I like these for my fords (F150's and F250's) because you have to plug it in to your OBD and change the tune that way. Takes about 10 minutes. It changes all your points and pressures for the specific HP you want. I never trusted the "on the fly" switches. I feel those you just turn up the HP and go. Transmission stays the same. That's why you blow your transmission. Diesel mechanic told me that over 15 years ago and I never had any issues. Im here watching this video to put my truck stock. Thanks for the video

Thanks for this....I learned a few things in the video that would be useful on my 2017 F350. One thing that concerned me: Unless you pull and completely clean out the DEF tank you'll end up with the problems that come with seriously stale DEF when you try to reinstall everything come trade-in time.

You are a wise man for not removing the EGR system. I did It on a 2008 6.4 about 7 or 8 years ago and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, mechanically. And, once you start you have to finish before you can go anywhere.

Love the way you can return it to stock somewhat easily. These trucks aren't cheap so it's nice to know you can benefit from a delete, but also continue to revert in case you need to get warranty work done. When you were driving you talked about the difference in the speedo because of the bigger tire. I thought tuners could recalibrate that for you, no?

Just a heads up. Anyone who orders the kit with the muffler through the link; it only comes with one clamp. Nothing included for the muffler. So you will need to either order 2 more clamps or weld it solid. Also,be ready to cut the rear section of pipe to fit the muffler.

Good video, where you at in Louisiana? Just keep in mind that most dealers will take deleted trucks in, and if they really want to know - you can’t ever go back to stock on the truck. The deletes will always show up on ECU.

North Louisiana. Yea it really depends on dealer. I’ve already had warranty work done on mine since the delete. They covered it. Had a upper oil pan leak, they fixed it and the truck was deleted. Thanks for the feedback brother! A lot of people wait I till warranty is up. And on the 2020 I prob would as well. Being that is all new transmission and the motor is a little different as well. I’d deff make sure everything is solid before I did anything. As far as the problems, when you delete the truck you get rid of all the “problems”. 95 % of all warranty work is emissions related. Did the same thing. Factory tip too lol. Ez lynk with a switch on the fly. Kept the resonator. Did the egr block offs. Race pipe. Gonna add a cold air intake soon.

My only problem is that when I bought my truck it come with a Lifetime Powertrain warranty so I have to do something that leaves no traces for warranty purposes. I really dont want to void the warranty on a 95,000 dollar truck. I get 19 and better mpg on highway when I go to Kentucky on weekends but all week I pull a rig around here in S.C. I own a landscaping company and my truck started dropping mpg around here pulling my rig so was looking into this because the regen knocks it down to 12 to 13 here lately. It use to get 15 to 16 around here with my rig. Thanks buddy for the reply and your video made since and was gone over good so a unmechanical inclined person could do it I think. I am mechanically inclined so I got it.

Man if you plan on keeping that lifetime power train I wouldn’t delete it. Unless you talk to your dealer and they will work with you. But I mean it would be hard as hell to give that lifetime warranty up. That’s a damn good thing! 🇺🇸
