Hi, I installed a Joying unit in my 2018 Honda Ridgeline, everything works fine. Except I cannot get the steering wheel controls to work. I've tried moving cables and plugs around, still cannot get the steering wheel controls to function. Any ideas, thank you.

Hey! So awesome to see you reviewing the latest model! I don't remember if you covered it in your review of the other models, but are the reverse guide lines dynamic? That is, do the guidelines bend as the steering wheel is turned to project the arc the vehicle will take when backing up? The changes that Joying made really makes me want this model. Comparing your review of this model to the prior ones, I totally agree with you that they did a great job of listening to customer suggestions and critiques.

It depends on the model year. On my 2017 the guidelines were dynamic but on my 2019 they were not. Not sure why. Its something to do with the vehicle canbus.

Im not sure. It does have a auxiliary video input as well as a backup camera input. As long as the aftermarket 360 system uses a RCA composite video out and a +12v trigger, you could make it work.

Nice! I just got this model last month and it’s definitely the best one to get for the CRV in my opinion. It’s close to factory with the volume knob but has a premium larger 10.1 in screen. Again, I appreciate your vids on these as it can be overwhelming! The only drawback I found so far is that I’m not able to access my maintenance minder screen as it’s apparently not compatible per Joying support.

Hey man, this is really interesting. My factory 2017 CR-V touch screen is becoming unreliable and I'm only leaning today that there are options! Question - is there any functionality loss regarding the vehicle's settings with these? For example - about once a year I do a TPMS Calibration in the vehicle settings. Is that still in there?

I Thank you for the videos and how in depth they are. I finally bought one and decided on this one 10.1 inch with the on/off button. I’m having a lot of problems with it. It’s new as of 12/22. Apple car play doesn’t work and the radio keeps rebooting itself when the car is turned on. I’m awaiting a response from the company.

I really like this stereo. I have a 2019 CRV EXL, the three pics on their website show 2 different stereos with 3 different screens displayed. I'm assuming I would need option B?? I have the mid level stereo, no factory sub, which I think is what the extra amp power connecter is for?? I suppose I could get a hold of them and speak to them about it. I did see on you link it doesn't support Sirius sat radio?? But I suppose it would work through the app on your phone??

Hi, can you tell me the best position for the GPS antenna? I remember your first installation video you put it inside on top of the ventilation. Then when you upgraded, you put it inside on top of the instrument cluster. Which is the better position you think? Thanks!

Don't have th issue with time. My buttons light up when the headlights are on. Not sure why the time would do that.

Vehicle has indirect tpms system. No way to view it. You can add Joying tpms sensors if you want to see the actual pressure, but it's not necessary.

It depends on what model of CRV you have. If you have some of the highest trim levels they sometimes have a separate factory amplifier that requires a different harness. I would reach out to joying directly for assistance

Yes it works well compared to cheaper head units. It does not "fast" charge your phone but it does output a full amp just like a Apple wall charger.

How is the microphone volume on the unit? I have an aftermarket unit but the microphone volume is los so it's hard for others to hear me.

Not great, but not horrible. On the newer units (Android 12) they added the ability to change the mic gain settings to fix that issue

Not sure. Honda TPMS for this generation is "indirect" so it does not directly measure the PSI. Id contact Joying directly. I have only used this system on a LX model.

I got this exact unit and everything works fine except, I can't get the steering wheel controls to work. I tried setting them up in steering wheel controls but the option never changes from null. Any idea on what could be wrong?

You don't use the steering wheel control app for canbus controlled controls such as this. They just work. So either a wire isn't connected correctly or more likely you canbus settings may be wrong. Does the backup camera work when you put it in reverse? Does it show that a door is open when you open one of the doors in the car? If these things don't work, it may be an issue with the canbus settings. I'd reach out to Joying customer service directly to help troubleshoot

Just picked up this model and planning to install this weekend. I am noticing a gap between the two pieces that make up the bezel around the LCD module, at the top right edge. Almost as though the pieces weren't pushed together all the way. Anyone else have this issue?

The screen is screwed to the bezel. You can take it out and make sure it is seated properly. There could be a screw loose or the plastic could need trimmed slightly. I bet you can fix it.

Need to change the canbus settings most likely. You should have the option on the screen to pick the zoom level, just like factory. Check the canbus settings in the factory settings menu. Password is 3368. It should say XP / Honda / 17 CRV
