I have always loved this car...My buddies and I were in Silverton Co., summer of 06 or 07, driving down the road and parked at a small store, Circle K type store, there was a model in a white body suite and a Silver car with no badging. We pulled over out of curiosity and the car was full of computers, wires etc and engineers all around. Turned out to be an original A8 doing altitude testing and taking video with the lovely lady. The Audi guys were super cool and happy to talk about the car..

One of my favorite cars out there. When I first saw photos of this new model, I was happy that the slide blade was split - it was one thing that annoyed me on the old one. Also, with the face-lift and other exterior changes to the air vents etc front and rear, it looks more handsome. Of course, I'd take any R8 if I could. Always exciting to see one on the road. That color is something else!

Yeah, I test drove both the v8 and 2014 Super 6. Actually, I really loved them both! Totally different beasts. But the v8 rumble won me over. I do like some features of the newer model more though. Like the wheels.

Love how Jay drives at the Audi rep with the manual's qualities. I think, though, that brands keep misinterpreting why the markets are choosing PDK/DCTs. It's most likely because it's just easier to daily, easier to drive at the limit, easier overall in almost any area. I hope the next advance of tech, in terms of whether or not to add turbos, is to stick with natural aspiration, and add plug-in tech to factor in "MPGe" numbers.

I think it's the best looking exotic on the road today. It's certainly the best looking of all the R8's. I don't like awd, but one drive in this nearly converted me. It feels rwd, even in launch mode. The performance is breathtaking. The interior is very comfortable as well.

For those that complain that it looks like a stretched TT, it doesn't. Looks like an R8. For those that bemoan the loss of a manual (in a $180000 car no less), too bad. Manuals can be had in lesser performance variants (Camaro, Mustang, Corvette M3/M4 etc) but for cars well out of the financial reach of most us, a dual clutch/automatic tranny works fine. This car looks and sounds fantastic. If given the chance, I'd take one in a heartbeat. Naturally aspirated V-10, great interior and insane speed. What's not to like?

I think it sounds fine, and pre-driving one I can only say from jays normal, commentary to this one, its checked all the boxes, and in doing so has become kind of numb. take the new 510/idx: he said its was fanstastic and its not even drivable car. in the video jays smiles and talks...hes excited. I think he is impressed with how audi have solved the problems but somehow only comes away with n/a engines and does not specifically mention the one his in. jay does not care about disengaged cylinders by the look on his face. ADD: I feel like, its two guys: one just got married and the other one is being nice and saying halfheartedly she's pretty and how great she is.

Sss All R8 are nautural aspiriated. I dont know where you get the numbers but the E39 M5 you mentioned is significantly slower. In every year the M5 got more performance, so how should this work when already the newest M5 cant keep up? And yes the R8 with 420hp V8 engine was a little disappointment in performance, it was not the fastest but against E39 M5 it is still enough to win . The R8 with the V10 are much better.

Only supercar I have ever driven was a MT V10 Audi R8. I am 6ft8in and was very happy I could actually fit inside. I hope to one day achieve a level of wealth to afford one. Prefer the look of the older one though.
