Hey so I have a 2016 Chevy Malibu and I do it on the front driver and passenger good and the back passenger is good but when I get to the back driver one it does not seem to honk does that mean the tire sensor is bad?when my tire pressure came on and it was blank on the tire pressure it was the front driver one but that one is finding the signal fine. Do you think the tire sensor bad ?

It could be a bad sensor or the battery in the sensor is going dead. Are you using the small tpms sensor tool or do you have access to a tpms tool that checks battery, programming ect?

It worked on three tires, but the one tire that I NEEDED it to work on NOTHING. Now all four tires have -- has the PSI. Hopefully you or someone that sees this can help. Thank you

@bradthesnackman1491 so by the sound it put them all at -- because it didn't complete the relearn, if your having problems with 1 tire I would check the tire pressure sensor battery. Some tpms tools will have a battery light. Or I would buy a new tpms sensor and replace it and then you have to pair it to the car then u should be able to do the relearn.

So I want to buy different stock 2017 Chevy Malibu I currently have 16” stock rims on my 2017 Malibu and I want to buy 17” stock rims off someone and they still have tires on the 17s do I need this scan tool in order to reset the TPMS sensor thanks

Yes you would need a tpms tool Inorder to learn the tire location.

Question??? I have the same exact Malibu you have in the video…. Year and all. I just got a new used tire. But I didn’t use any relearn tool…. Now the video lags as I hit the gas. Do you think it has something to do with the tire or something else?

So when you go to the screen that shows all 4 tires does it show any numbers or just line? Are the tires on the car oem and do they have the sensors in the rim?

@@joshedgar2209 Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have this issue after I had the dealership unmount my winter tires and mount the all season. I have no numbers, just lines. I was having an issue with one of the sensors not reading after they did the tire change last year before winter. Now none are reading. I saw you suggest batteries for the sensor, seems simple enough. The hard part would be getting the tired off the rim to get access to the sensor, then remount the tire. Those are tools I do not have. Stealership is quoting $200 for a new sensor and states since the one isnt working, they all arent working, which seems like BS considering Ive just been driving with one out for 4 months now, yet the other 3 worked fine until they changed the tires back.

@@Handsx …..just have the same problem today. It said “Service Tire Monitoring System”. I checked my tire pressure for all. All are at correct levels. I think I’m just going to eyeball them for awhile. The other 3 do work. When I added air the pressure numbers did change. I have a 2016 Malibu

I bought one of those cheap tools from eBay to mine. It will only do the first tire. Can't get the second one to trigger. I have tried and tried. I guess I'll have to keep dumping cash into this American car...🙄

This might sound like a stupid question, but have you tried putting a new battery in the tool? The one I bought I have to replace the battery when it doesn't read the tire after using it a couple times and it sitting waiting for the next time I need it

@@joshedgar2209 it's a new tool and a new battery. The first battery was a heavy duty, so I swapped it with an alkaline to see if it would give more power. After several more tries, I finally got things to work. The left front worked the first time, as did the right rear, but the right front and left rear took 7-8 applications of the tool before it would finally trigger. I'm wondering if the tool was just putting out a really weak signal that the sensors were having a hard time picking up.

I agree but its nice to know what tire is actually soft with out checking them all. The tool was under $20 on amazon
