Mazda 3 : looks really stylish and simple at the same time, it's going to age really well. Mazda definitely knows how to make an upscale looking interior! Honda civic: They were trying too hard, because of the criticism the 2015 year model faced, they really went try hard mode lol. It looks hideous. Looks like some 18 year old high school kid designed it. But the interior does look good. Chevy cruze: They really dont give af and didn't want to try because of the success of the older gen chevy cruze. Subaru: I'm really outta words lol, it actually looks nice inside and outside compared to older ones, especially the interior!! I would buy a mazda 3 hands down because it has the best looking interior and exterior. But that is just my opinion. Now before the honda dickriders start trashing me with the reliability shit, stating that honda is more reliable and what not. A couple of things almost no one talks about with hatchbacks is their length and gas tank size. A hatchback would suit me for tight parking along with practicality. The relatively short Golf seems strong on that combination. Turning radius, too, is important to me for streets that are narrow and cut off without having the appropriate roundabout of a cul-de-sac. Besides mpg, how about tank size, too? Would like to know how far I can go on a tank.

@@Hallowsaw Hell no. It costs way more if you go to any Subaru dealership. Honda is probably the best pick because of it's cargo space and fuel economy. Unless you are going on adventures or live in rough terrains, there is no point in buying an Impreza. Did you know you have to replace all 4 tires on AWD cars when they wear out? talk about additional cost
@Hallowsaw4 жыл бұрын
@@jamesgand828 if you are rotating properly you will end up replacing them all at the same time anyways. You are supposed to buy new tires every 6 years or so because of dry rot. My yokohama avid ascend gt have lasted me that long and could probably go much longer buy like I said dry rot over time kicks in with All tires. So if I was to buy the same tires and still have to change them every 6 years, what extra cost are we talking about. Yes it's an extra post if a tire blows from a road hazard but honestly tire tread last so long now that really it's not an extra cost. You know what does cost more? Having a 19 in tire vs a 17 or 18in tire. Subarus usually have smaller tires than hondas. It averages about an extra $20 per tire for every inch bigger you go and sometimes even more. Btw $700 over 6 years... really? That's not really that much money
@chrishotham28544 жыл бұрын
@@Hallowsaw Everything you said is true. But what if you blow out a tire at 20,000 mile into the life of the tires? Do you really think you have time to find a used one? If you blow a tire out on a Civic or any of the other cars you can put the donut on the rear nothing will happen. With the Subaru my grandfather had to pay $1,600 to get the head gasket replaced because it has a boxer engine. He just baught a toyota lmao.

@ibechane7 жыл бұрын
J.Sakic, Unfortunately, that is not entirely true. The Ohio plant had 1200 layoffs in January with possibly more coming, and it's already been proven that there are Cruzes in American dealerships (even in Lordstown!) that were made in Mexico. The whole notion of buying American is to support the workers. There are plenty of US corporations that profit big from outsourcing, so sales profits don't really factor into the argument.
@randomfoo7777 жыл бұрын
there's alot more factors than just where the assembly line is located. if you look at the kogod auto index... the cruze 4dr LT is 72% TDC, the cruze 4dr premier is 41% TDC, the cruze hatchback LT is 41% TDC. the impreza is 40% TDC. TDC = total domestic content

Yeah I like how practical pretty much all subarus except the BRZ are. Also subaru has one of the most environmentally friendly manufacturing plants in the US where they recycle everything. I can appreciate that. Plus as a highway cruiser, the impreza and outback are excellent. Very smooth cars. It's a shame they haven't branched out to compete in luxury like hyundai and kia has. Let's be honest, subaru sells more cars than either of those companies individually. Also Toyota owns a portion of subaru so I think if Lexus had a boxer variant in their gs or ls lineup that would be amazing.

There are so many choices today. I like that KBB simply highlights what each car/model does well, doesn't do well, and who may be best suited to own/drive. I don't like comparison videos that simply says "xyz" is the best car of the bunch because many cars nowadays offer specific features that cater to a specific buyer. One of those examples is the never-ending Golf R v. Focus RS debate. In my opinion, both cars offer attributes/features that cater to a specific group. They're not necessarily an alternative choice to each other. But let's face it, Chevy Cruze is a terrible choice no matter how you look at it :-)

I've tested all of these cars in sedan form. Your best bet is probably the Honda. The Impreza is simply too slow. AWD is great from a stop for the first 3 seconds. Then you press the accelerator further and nothing happens. The Cruze felt pretty slow too and was kinda bland, but didn't feel truly sluggish like the Subaru. I actually liked the previous generation Cruze more than this one. The Mazda3 is nice and handles well but I was able to feel a lot of the bumps in the road. I'm used to a sporty suspension but this was a bit much. Smooth, snappy 6 speed transmission. The Civic was just great in every way. I was skeptical about the CVT at first but then I drove it and was impressed. Great handling dynamics. Great torque if you get the turbocharged model (and you should). Also very roomy inside without feeling too big. The Civic spoiled the rest of these cars for me. And honestly I wasn't expecting to like it at all.

And yes, its awd is so stupid smart that I've got to drive at an insane and suicidal speed just to break the the ear end loose on gravel. I never liked the Mazda interior because it feels like you have to focus way too much on just the info you are looking for. The Corolla is a fantastic car and a lot of fun If you aren't afraid to shove it past its design limits. To have fun in a rolla, you must treat it like a rental car. I'm not even going to start on Chevy cause I absolutely despise gm vehicles with a passion. That said the Chevy 350 is the best engine ever. No doubt haters are still gonna hate....

Overall, I'll go with the Civic. Plus, I'm in love with the color.

What about Lexus CT?

Every time I drive a car with a CVT it reminds me of the moped I used to ride 20 years ago. CVTs are truly horrible IMO. No one seems to wonder why luxury brands don't typically use them...

Forgot to mention one thing though, although it should be well known knowledge by now. American = Horrible Reliability. Japanese = Excellent Reliability.

That's not a great generalization. Chevrolet 4 cylinders are pretty darn reliable.

Did you just wake up from a decade-long cryogenic sleep? American cars don't have horrible reliability anymore. I'm not saying Japanese is worse, but people tend to forget that cars like Toyota Camry are more American than anything GM or Ford makes, while cars with reliability issues like the automatic Ford Fiesta have very little American involvement at all.

Frank The Rabbit really? Tell that to the 1.6 million Honda v6 owners who didn’t even get a recall for excessive oil consumption that can make the motor nearly fail. Instead we got a technical service bulletin, and Honda won’t even fix the problem for free stating that it’s not related to the excessive oil consumption even tho it is.

1982 wants its argument back. Toyota acceleration. Honda transmissions. Subaru head gaskets and ringlands. Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan just low quality. Every one of them have rust problems.

britton coil The fix for that... replace the PCV valve. $10
