I'm a Mopar fan, and even I can tell you how that would end up....the Subie would win. Much lighter, only 5 less horsepower, and the Subie was really made for snow. I loves me some Challenger, but this just looks kinda disappointing....My 2013 Taurus SHO has 60 more hp, and the FWD bias under normal conditions lends itself much more easily to shifting to AWD when the conditions require. I can't imagine how Dodge has their setup wired....it's gotta be heavy and clumsy. The SHO, meanwhile, has one simple power take-off in the trans/diff that sends power to the rear wheels the minute the fronts start slipping. I'd happily have a Hellcat though....as a fair-weather, dry road car only.

I understand why this video exist and such, but this is just silly. Anybody who has a rwd car, and snow, and isn't an idiot will put snow tires on it. I'd much rather have a rwd challenger with good snow tires, than an awd challenger with all seasons, all day any day.
@quentin33307 жыл бұрын
wantsanewvehicle Agreed. However i plow snow with all season but they are big...and good. But snow tires are awesome. I use snow tires on my 2wd pickup and use it for my employees to drive around and shovel sidewalks. Obviously can't plow with my 2wd truck so i use it for salting sidewalks. Put a snow blower, some shovels and bags of salt in the back and it goes through everything. Even with no weight in the back it goes through snow no problem. Totally agree with you on this video. Good video but silly.

1Fast GXP AWD gives people in snow belt climates, the perfect reason to justify the purchase of the Challenger to their significant other. This car should sell very well up north and out west in the U.S. A sporty performance car that doesn't have to be parked in your garage from November to April is a winner for FCA. People buy the V8 Hemi models to smoke the tires at stop lights. This V6 is for practical folks who want a cool sports car to drive to work during the week and drive it on road trips on the weekends.
@baldheadracing8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. This car was a long shot for me to buy this year anyway, but it just left my shopping list. The whole point of these cars performance-wise is acceleration, and 305hp sounds like a lot, but I didn't see it in the review - seemed no faster than my current AWD (Passat w/275hp) and the exhaust note certainly sounded a lot worse than my car's W8 with its flat-plane crankshaft.

Of course the newer models have redesigned suspension and better brakes, but still, I don't understand why the AWD Hemi cars didn't catch on. Maybe it's because of that gutless 5 speed AOD it was coupled to.. Imagine how fun this car would be, how usable it would be yr round, with a 6 speed manual, and AWD and 1 of the Hemi's? When pressed about 8 cyl AWD, I would have rather the spokesman said that this car is the dipping the proverbial toe in the water to test the market of their AWD systems. They gauge the reaction and work out the bugs.. then maybe?? He didn't though. Sounded like the door was closed??? Also, is there a way to override the automatic switching and force AWD on or off? I live in a snowy climate and don't have the resources to garage a Challenger for the winter months, so I may be the target market. The want of power leaves me wanting however. Without the power, the argument can't be made that the AWD is primarily for sport traction ie: hard cornering. Close but no cigar.

Sell to only the people that want to buy a SRT, Hellcat or Demon in an AWD. FCA problem is transferring the power through the converter for anything more then a v6. I have driven this car and it does ok on dry mountain roads. If you take a Camaro, Mustang and Challenger GT and they are all v6, the Challenger out handles all of them. Its not just a snow car. Where I live, the Troopers have Chargers V8 AWD and they are good, about 80hp more. The Grand Jeep Cherokee SRT AWD has many problems with its converter, imagine a Hellcat or Demon.

A perfect car for my wife. Her old 2006 Mustang V-6 ( With winter Bilizzaks). Could not get up our drive way with only 4 inches of snow on it. Her 2017 GT Awd with all season tires. Had problems with over 14" inches of Mn snow. Great fun at stop lights taken off fast. On snow and ice. And the looks on 4x4 SUVs and pick truck owners faces. You can see they are thinking, how the hell. Is that Challenger taken off so fast on ice.

The Fast Lane Car Do you have a filter for intelligent comments and people who "get it" versus some of the silliness and crap commented? The things you put up with (including videos for the sake of keeping sponsors) is amazing.

What sponsors do you mean? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nne6lmaHaK-UmpI

Well, Jeff, seeing that your comment appeared, I'd say it was bloody obvious that TFL don't have an "Intelligence Filter".

I don't understand why we would do a track test and shut off traction control systems? It would vastly improve times on Camaro let's be honest!

Of course their largest market is with the V6, it costs significantly less. Lower the price of your V8 and they would see a big swing in the market.
