Stop lugging the bike at low RPM and you won't get the big vibrations. You've ridden Ducatis before. You should know they don't like going under 3,500 RPM by now.

This bike is exactly the same concept as my bike, a Kawasaki ZZR600. The ZZR has the same engine from a ZX-6R, but tuned for more power down low. The seat height is raised and the handlebars are raised clip-ons, giving a more upright and comfortable riding position. Fairings are almost exactly the same, but insurance classifies the ZZRs as sport touring so insurance is also cheaper. These styles of bikes are truly amazing. You get the long distance comfort of a tourer with the size and style of a super sport, with the power of a naked bike. Absolute perfection. Good on Ducati for trying to bring these beasts back.

I just bought a 2017 Ducati 939 in 99% new condition with 2159km on it. in my opinion its one of the nicest looking bikes I've ever seen in my life. every time I look at it I'm in love. I love the look of the double pipe that you don't seem to like. the one sided swing arm. the red fairings. it just looks so sweet from every angle. and riding it is a joy. I love the stability and the way it holds lines. if I was going to point out any negatives. the engine runs hot. at 1000 and 2000 rpm the bike isn't happy. once it gets to 3000 its a happy camper. and it has to be finessed to get the bike into neutral. if you are stopped it is more difficult. if you are coming to a stop it is allot easier. and the mirrors vibrate. but I don't plan on changing them. when I look at your video it doesn't give the look of this bike justice. I don't know if its your camera, or that your shooting in the bright sun. but it just looks so much nicer in person. and the pictures I have of my bike that I got from the person I bought it from look really sweet. and even though my bike is not the S model it has the back seat fairing. which makes it look nicer. I'm not sure if there were any changes between 2017 and my 2019 or not. but I am really in love with my bike.

Test rode it today. I liked it. I didn't feel like I was going to stall it. Only needed second and third on back roads. It shook quite a bit at higher rpms. But the dealer says it smoothes out again around 7000. Handled nice. Comfy which was the point.
@jirace7 жыл бұрын
Supersport is a racing class below Superbike. Supersports are closer to stock bikes. Superbikes are heavily modified versions of stock bikes. MotoGp are one off, non-production bikes. What this bike is about is giving buyers something less than a race bike, but it has a race look, full fairings. This is like a monster with fairings. The passenger seat is lower than a pangale, the handlebars are higher, the footpegs are lower and further forward. This reminds me of my monster, which has clipons. The power is also like a monster and not like the pangale. This is for someone who wants to enjoy the bike on a the street and be able to do long sporty rides without the fatigue of being stretched out on the pangale.

I probably watched this video ten times before I bought my SuperSport. I love love LOVE this bike! Over 1100 miles and counting over a six week period. One thing to note: insurance for this bike is NOT cheap right now. I'm paying well over double what I was for my '15 Monster 821, even though it's essentially the same bike with fairings and a bored-out engine. 2022 Edit: Insurance is much, much more reasonable now. Don't let insurance prices be a deterrent anymore.
@JS-fb6ww2 жыл бұрын
The insurance for the panigale V2 is double what it is for the Supersport. I'm curious though are you like one of those goofy guys on KZbin trying to turn the Super Sport into some touring Bike by putting the panniers and handlebar risers on it?
@bendriscoll3022 жыл бұрын
@@JS-fb6ww Nope, I rode it more like a sport bike. At the time back in '17 when it was new on the market (and when that comment was posted), insurance was stupid for them. Rates eventually got very affordable. That bike was lovely. All day comfort and not too expensive to run (for a Duc) I've done a few 300+ mile rides on it and it was always super comfortable. It absolutely loved to cruise at 105 MPH all day. However rear tires wore fairly quick, so I ultimately made a trailer so I can haul it around whenever I want to go somewhere fun. Every mile is precious on a Duc, I didn't want to rack up a ton of miles of otherwise boring highway miles before the Desmo service. It just didn't seem worth it. I traded it in a year ago for a Streetfighter V4. While I do not regret the move, I still love and miss my Supersport. I wish I could have kept both.
@pkimberling7 жыл бұрын
The shaking at lower RPMs, power surge in 1st & 2nd, heavy engine braking, etc........that's all Ducati character and being a twin vs an in-line four (and also shows the Supersport is a Monster/Hypermotard cousin and not a Panigale cousin). As a Monster 1100EVO owner, once you realize that's part of the package and learn the bike you really enjoy it. Engages you as a rider not to be lazy on downshifts, energizes you on normal roads, plus makes that L-twin engine sing (especially with upgraded pipes). Probably not for everyone but makes this brand different. This bike in S trim is next on my demo list. PS - recognize that demo route myself ATL brother...
@QuincyPoaches6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It was annoying to hear him constantly complain about 'shaking' when he says he doesn't ride many Ducati bikes. That means he is not qualified to make a review. Lugging the motor is not the same as shaking. Hopefully he learned that for future reviews.

😂 'The late 20th century!' Shee-it I remember them coming out - fav bike of all time the '73 blue/silver with bevel cam gears... you're probably thinking of the '90 red one, also awesome for it's day, though prone to carbs icing up in winter and chain adjuster bolts buckling under the torque!

It's actually great that you cover the regular as other vloggers are wanting to cover the S model with it's automatically included DQS (Ducati Quick Shiffter). I hope it's not too expensive to add a DQS to the regular model which would make it affordable to the masses without getting all of the rest that makes the bike cost out of range for most people.

chase...i purchased a red supersport s in december and have loved it immensely. i am 6’ - 3” with a 34 inseam and i find that the leg position is not cramped a all. in fact i think it is the most comparable of all the bikes i have ever had, three cbr600rr’s and two yamaha fz’s. this has the perfect leg position, at least for me. and it does not like being driven under 3000 rpm but after that it is so smooth. and i disagree with you on the dash. i love it and find it to be a great design. love your reviews but had to disagree on a few things you mentioned since i have had some time to check mine out. keep up the great job.
