Great video! I own a 2016 Ford Focus Trend (base Australian model) with the 1.5L EcoBoost and just bought the Boomba adaptor. My state, South Australia, has heavy fines for driving a vehicle with a blow off valve, but I hope that the subtle nature of a stock Ford Focus will hopefully keep it away from the eyes of the police haha.

Why does your gauge cluster look different? I have the 2017 sport as well and only have the central speedo with the two side screens, yours is way better looking.

I almost wish I had the normal rpm and temp gauge instead of the 2 screens. Or they should have made it with a good center screen instead of the 2 screens.

@ThatCarGuyEddie6 жыл бұрын
trk no not at all.. it uses the stock components it just vents it instead of recirculating it
@nanotoxin555 жыл бұрын
@trk yes it will; you are correct. By blowing off into the atmosphere the car is no longer ingesting that air it is expecting to get, which throws off the fueling maps in the ecu for a second. Is it a big deal? Depends who you talk to. I can tell you for sure it's a waste of fuel and may burn up your cats prematurely, but all in all it's not the end of the world. In a perfect world it should be tuned for it.
@Cobradaddy5 жыл бұрын
@@nanotoxin55 Was looking for this comment, being a Subaru owner, this is heavily laughed at in the community. For Subarus, that air is 100% looked for by the ECU, without it, it'll run fat. Also looked down on, are CAI. They all say you don't need it till a certain power level and you get heat soak, but with one you'll clearly hear the turbo spool as well as the BPV, it's pretty loud for stock. I'm new in researching this car, but a CAI could be the better option here. Remember, cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap.
@rpmevo82 жыл бұрын
@@nanotoxin55 I know this is an old comment but I just wanted to point out that if the car has a mass airflow sensor, like a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, or Subies, it will cause a small rich condition after it blows off. These cars (Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Focus ST) use MAP sensors and don’t rely on the metered air.

JuniorFan08 Is just for fun men.
@zach.avenarius6 жыл бұрын
no its not for fun and it does have a purpose. BOV's make the turbo more efficient. you definitely do not want boost hanging around between shifts and when you let off the throttle. boost stuck in the intake pipe for those precious milliseconds will destroy your turbo faster by reversing the turbo wheel when the trapped air comes the opposite way(underneath the wheel) and causing unwanted friction on the wheel shaft hole and possibly the wheel itself by switching directions so abruptly. so yes its not just for sound. thats why they come from the factory already installed to make the turbo last longer. just no sound like the bomb
@BobbyKuul765 жыл бұрын
The kids love it. Eventually they will put whistles on their electric cars that are silent. I have been street racing in the San Fernando Valley for 30 years. Back in the day, I would put a second set of mufflers on my car to roll up quietly on cash races. As I leave the line I would pull the lever to open a valve under the cabin to open the exhaust and breath
