I like freestyle skateboarding much more than vert or street, because they are basically the nerds of skateboarding. Not the cool kids, the wierdoes and outsiders! They are basically just like me with much, much, much more skill. Awesome tricks and filming btw. :D

I started skating in the nineties when everybody else was wearing fubu and Hilfiger, so I guess this is where I say "back in my day" we didn't skate to be cool. We were the outsiders and misfits. But I won't, because the change in it's popularity exposes kids to it more. I didn't even know what freestyle was back then, but I wish I did. Maybe I would have if it was popular like it is now. I used to be hard core street, absolutely hated long boarders and vert. Now I think any board is a good board, as long as it's being ridden and not carried.

i love both. i have two boards. one has 44mm and the other has 54mm freestyle wheels. the 44s are good for curbs and ledges and flippies and just feeling stable by being lower to the ground, but the 54s are just better for freestyle. i wish they made small freestyle wheels

Skidplate. At least that's what they were called in the 70's and 80's. First major manufacturer was Power Pivot in 70's. They make your board last 2x longer on average. Plus some tricks are advantaged with them.
