I've driven my father-in-law's Genesis for about six months (when it was still Hyundai). It turned heads even of Mercedes drivers (not kidding). It's a fantastic vehicle.

Excellent Review! Also, great soundtrack choice! The Genesis G90 is the bogo in the segment. You get a whole lot of features for your money.... Personally, I believe a lot of the other luxury car automakers mark up the price just because of their brand names. I think this vehicle is a great buy, but I would definitely consider the Cadillac CT6 first... I just love the styling of it! Hopefully, some day I will be able to review luxury vehicles! Keep up the great work, Car Gurus! -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"

Many rich people and those with high social status in Korea drives this car, along with Kia K900. It's highly regarded for its comfortability, silentness, and its luxurious space. Personally, I think it's whole lot better than Lexus LS, Cadillac CT6, or Audi A8.

I like this G90. It is certainly as capable as an LS or Q70. It is a better value than the CT6 or newly introduced Lincoln Continental. And this will be an even better deal in about 3 years when it priced in the low to mid 30k range.

This is a beautiful looking car. However the previous genesis looked even nicer than this one in my opinion. On this G90 version, I think the front and the back look like they are taken from two different class of cars. They just don't match. Otherwise the car seems to be super.

I quite enjoyed the review and I don't understand the negative comments toward George. On another note, I believe that Genesis can compete with Mercedes. However, by design some of the details are not perfected as much as in Mercedes. Maybe it is to keep the cost lower. If you have enough self confidence to drive luxurious Hyundai you will not be dissapointed. I test drove Kia K900 which is based on the Equus and I was very impressed.

I have the Genesis 3.8 Htrac and on a recent trip averaged nearly 29 mpg on the way there and 25 mpg on the way home, mostly due to a rain and windstorm. It was a trip of 1,000+ miles. I have received many compliments and quite a few questions in relation to the car. I really like this car and I think Cadillac has really overpriced their product.
@charlesduran87007 жыл бұрын
I am looking for a G90 5.0 Htrac . to test drive . But the dealers around where I live are pushing the 3.3 twin turbo and said they could get me a V8 to test drive if I put a $5000 deposit which means I am committed to buy no matter the color or options . I don't want a turbo charged nothing because I drive a 2009 Genesis4.6 which is a v8 . I love it and won't settle for nothing less but an upgraded v8 . But a $5000 deposit with a commitment to buy for a test drive is a joke !!! Hyundai/ Genesis you have to do better especially for already Genesis Owners 😒

@charlesduran87007 жыл бұрын
The stress free buying experience they have been advertising is aJoke especially when you can't get the car you want . Hyundai has no idea on what a Premium Car owner needs or wants . The dealer treats you as if you are buying a lesser car and pushes what they want to sell especially what ever is on their lot which is not moving ( 3.3T ) , Consumers in this class want the authority and power of a V8 which a V6 can't deliver no matter what they do it . Not one dealer in my area has a V8 but they are overstocked with V6s . They have to get out of the economy car mindset and step it up to for the premium car buyer , I'm stressed out !!! 😩 😩
@johnnyrocket43577 жыл бұрын
Charles Duran I would suggest looking online for a G90 with your specifications and then calling that dealership as an interested buyer to see how they would be able to facilitate your test drive. You might get a comp'd hotel room at least, or possibly more if you are definitely interested in buying during the visit.

Car and truck pricing in general is utterly ridiculous and out of control. When the middle class can not afford many of the vehicles there is a problem. As to the g90? I want this car. I could care less for Mercedes and BNW and never wanted a Lexus. My audi was a POS. G90 will be my next car.

I grew up in the '60s when "Made in Japan" was synonymous with cheap and shoddy consumer products. The Toyota B210 looked like something a man in a Godzilla suit stepped on in the movies, and the 1st Honda Civic resembled a jelly bean with large donuts for tires. Now Toyota and Honda mean quality. Things change.

Great review. I currently have a 90K mile 2013 S550 that I am trading and was vacillating between the BMW 7 series and the G90. I primarily uses it as a company vehicle and I am chauffeured in the back. So this help me make up my mind because the G90 has so many standard features for rear seat control which becomes more and more expensive for the BMW7. I have had a BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche so now I have made up my mind to purchase the G90. It looks great and its still a luxury vehicle that stands apart from more common vehicles.

I own a 2014 750il BMW. Great car but the maintenance and issues even with extended warranty and maintenance plan with BMW dampens the ownership experience to the point I am considered a preowned G90. BMW is not a customer centric company at all. Reliability is an issue. My car has 51K on it and with all the issues I have had I am hesitant to take out of town as I an concerned I will become stranded.

Hi George Great review by the way. Let me tell all you badge crazy fans that I was a fan of, and actually used an S Class and a 7 series BMW, and I can categorically state that this G90 is so much better than the Germans. Look, nothing beats a naturally aspirated V8 engine. Have you guys ever had a problem with your turbochargers or so called superchargers before? just wait. I had that issue with my 2011 Range Rover Sport. For all that this car possess in terms of safety, interior quality and ride, to hell with the badge. People, open your eyes and stop living in denial...smell the roses and take a deep breath; it seems the Genesis brand is here to compete and they mean business. I test drove the S550, LS460 and BMW 750 Li the same day as the little brother of this G90 (The G80) and boy, I was impressed. The German brands are good no doubt, but their prices don't make sense anymore. I bet you guys, their sales will begin to dwindle soon. They are not that reliable over 100,000Km. Let us give credit to whom credit is due...HYUNDAI's new luxury brand called the GENESIS has done a great job here PERIOD.

German biggies are great cars as new, with a hefty price tags. They depreciate extremely quickly. While they ride like a dream as new cars -reliability goes down quickly and are extremely expensive to repair once out of warranty. But despite all these realities- people buy these - to catch a little fame that comes with buying a Benz or BMW . Once bought one gotta live with this for a long time to justify the expense he made. On the other hand Asian luxury cars whether established ( Lexus) or establishing ( Genesis ) are extremely reliable and a warranty that gives a peace of mind . Lexus IS spoken in the same breath as that of German biggies now after two and half decades after its introduction, I am sure same happens with Genesis as well.
