I just purchased a 2018 G90 Ultimate with the V-8. It was turned in from a 3 year lease, with less that 26K miles on the odometer. All it needed was new tires. When I was young, an uncle owned a 1975 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight, a stunningly beautiful car with all the bells & whistles--including the airbags restraint system--which he later credited with saving his life when he was involved in a bad accident in 1980, which totaled the car. In 1982, I purchased a 1976 Olds Ninety Eight, which was totaled three years later when it was struck by a semi-truck making an illegal turn. From then on, all I could afford were a series of medium to subcompact cards, none of which I cared for very much. So for decades, I had been longing for a car that would rival the Ninety Eight in terms of the isolation from the environment, smooth power delivery and the comfortable seats. The G90 rings all the bells for me, I am hoping to drive it for many years.

How has the 2018 G90 treated you! I’m looking into buying one used
@elyrccaledon66005 ай бұрын
@@TalkingBallCards It just tripped 34K miles; I've not had any issues with it. The battery started acting up, so I had that replaced. I've had the transmission and radiator flushed, just normal maintenance stuff. There are so few of them on the road that no one knows what it is or how old it is. A few weeks ago, a lady pulled up behind me while I was at the car wash and told me "That is one beautiful car!" So, even at six years old, it is still turning heads.

Truly a nice car. Nice review as well. Thanks for no computerized voice-over or irritating music.

I could hear your genuine liking of the car... almost emotional. That tells a lot about the car...more than mundane technical babbles. I have to check this one out myself. Thanks, and a nice job!

I think the Genesis G90 is targeted towards people like me, who are ready to move up but can't stomach the idea of dropping $125k on an S class. FWIW, I'm a firm believer that in order for a vehicle to be even considered a luxury vehicle, it must be V8 or larger and RWD. I drive DC to Chicago and DC to KC pretty frequently, so comfort is first and foremost on my mind. You'd think it'd be fuel economy, but several hours of having your lower back pounded into mush by a harsh ride and uncomfortable seats will quickly teach you the error of your thinking. I've been looking at the G80 closely, but I think the G90 is probably where I'll end up, assuming I go Genesis. One thing he didn't mention that's in Genesis' favor over the competition is the warranty. 5yr/60k full and 10yr/100k powertrain is one of the best warranties I've heard of for a luxury car. Mercedes will only warranty their S class for 4yr/50k.

Given everything you've written I would guess you would be delighted with the G90. I was.

@@WhatdrivesUs I've looked at the G80 and was impressed. The G70 is also impressive. I'd love the G70 in a coupe. Unfortunately, Genesis is going to have to get a few killer SUVs and CUVs on the market to really attack the luxury segment, because those are what people are buying now. The old-school luxury sedan is feels underappreciated. I looked at the Kia K900, and it has a lot of cool features, including cameras that show your blind spots in the dash when you put your signal on, but it comes with the same bog-standard 3.3L V6TT that other Kias and Hyundais have. If Kia wants that car to stand out, it needs the V8 and RWD.

This was a former model year. I'm not sure if they offer it on the newer vehicles.

Nice Review. My Brother got 2017 Genesis G90 with 800 Miles on it for $50,000. That it a serious discount off MSRP. yes it is not the Brand New 2018, but for $20,000 less who cares.

All the music was composed and performed by Michael Manring. You can find him at Manthing.com and his music is widely available. If you tell me the time code I can tell what song and album it was from. Thanks.

Great car, but do you work for Genesis?. Seems you are playing their card
@WhatdrivesUs6 жыл бұрын
"Playing their card"? And no, for the record, I do not work for Genesis nor receive any money from. The only Genesis provides me with is access to vehicles. I just happen to think it's an amazing vehicle.
