+Alvin Pace That's awesome! How many miles have you got on her now? If you don't mind me asking... What made you buy the Rebel 500 over what else is on the market? Also, thanks for checking out the video and for posting up too!

It's still 800km :) , comparing build quality and price from iron, Vulcan and bolt . Looks amazing plus it's a honda , you can never go wrong

Man I'm a sport bike guy but the Rebel is really tempting me to try a cruiser/bobber type even as a leisure bike to run the local errands. The Thailand guys already have begun selling a ton of customization parts for it and its cheap!!!!!!!

OMG i LOVE IT. I have an 03 rebel & love it alot. I do wish it still had exhaust on both side, and not fond of where the key is but, that's outweighed by the new LED light, a fuel gauge and an extra 250 c.c. Honda does it again. Getting one asap.

I just bought my first bike from Honda and I was looking at a 2016 rebel but got a 2006 honda shadow vt600cd and a week later they got the 2017 rebel 500s in the show room. I wish I would have waited

but I do love my shadow
@HondaProKevin7 жыл бұрын
+Southerneagle83 The Honda Shadow 600 VLX Deluxe is a great beginners bike! Sold a ton of those things over the years. The only downfall is that 4-speed transmission as you're always looking for that 5th gear haha. Funny thing is that engine sounds better than almost any other v-twin cruiser Honda makes when you throw a set of aftermarket pipes on them. Honestly, I don't think I'd take a Rebel 500 over your 600 Shadow unless you just love the styling and seating position etc over your Shadow. Your Shadow 600 is actually faster than the 750 Shadow lineup... You're almost 100lbs lighter and make only 1-4 horsepower less depending on the model and on that bike comparison I'd take the Rebel any day of the week but... You're only 30lbs heavier than the Rebel and only make 5 less horsepower so it's not that big a difference when comparing performance specs. Plus you lose that typical "cruiser" sound when you go with the Rebel 500 as it's a parallel-twin engine versus your v-twin engine. Both bikes are great though, just depends on what attributes float your boat more.

I want one so bad now.
@HondaProKevin7 жыл бұрын
+Ken Stok Haha wait till you take one for a test ride, you'll want one even more! Honda hit a homerun on this bike, she's a blast to ride around town and just easy to ride overall!
@kenpstok1517 жыл бұрын
It's weird because this cool looking bike just started showing up on my feed. I am a Ruckus owner now and I love Honda anything and was really sold on getting a Grom for my next purchase and BOOM! the Rebel. I like bobber styled bikes. I am essentially a Harley Sportster guy but with pricing and practicality these days the Rebel is perfect

I am also considering the Ninja 400. I am a new rider. The ninja has LED lights and better instrument cluster that shows the gears and has slip deferential gears. Also will save about $900. What do you guys think?

What's the best way to know if the bike has ABS? I'm trying to buy one and the seller doesn't seem to know if it has one or not...thanks
@gregww1017 жыл бұрын
They really went wonky on the ABS option and colours. In Canada, Black is the only colour without ABS. In the US it's the only colour with it. Bizarre.
@madmax20697 жыл бұрын
Greg Ward ikr, I was wanting grey with ABS, but my only option is black with ABS. I don't understand it myself.
@HondaProKevin7 жыл бұрын
+Greg Ward lol yeah, sometimes it really baffles me on how they choose color options for each country. Typically, we always get the shaft on colors and only get (1) color to choose from here in the states on certain models and then the rest of the world gets 4-5 to choose from etc.
@Exploder116 жыл бұрын
For 2018 in the US the ABS version is silver!

Great video! Can I ask - what type of video camera are you using?
@HondaProKevin7 жыл бұрын
+Eric W Thanks! It was shot with my Samsung Galaxy S7 with a DJI OSMO Mobile to make everything smooth and not so jerky as I walk around. It was actually supposed to be shot in 4K so it was even better but for some reason my settings were reset.

Wow. Crazy good video for a phone!!
@HondaProKevin7 жыл бұрын
+Eric W Oh yeah, for a phone it's incredible! Especially when shot in 4K and paired up with a gimbal to keep everything smooth. It's really amazing how far tech has came when you can get such killer quality out of a phone.

+Mr. McMan If you're unsure based off of their performance specs between the Rebel 500 VS Shadow 750, the writeup I did over at www.hondaprokevin.com/2017-rebel-500-review-specs-cruiser-motorcycle-bobber-bike-cmx500 may be of some help as I break down the nitty gritty horsepower, torque, power-to-weight etc between them. Personally, I'd take the Rebel 500 any day of the week. The only thing the Rebel doesn't have and to some people it'll be a big deal is when it comes to sound... If you want that typical v-twin cruiser sound, you're not going to get it as the Rebel 500 has a parallel-twin engine versus a v-twin engine that's in the Shadow. They have pretty different seating positions too with your overall riders triangle layout so that may help on making the decision too. Hope the info is of some help ;)
