Definitely take the w1 any day and save over 100k. What you all fail to understand is that Holden And hsv come with VERY shit tunes from the factory that restrict power, torque and acceleration. This engine can run on 91 if need be. If you take this vehicle to a professional tuner and he puts it into the same high state of tune as the BMW you will easily make another 100kw at the rear wheels on 98 Ron as well as improve the fuel economy. These engines can run 10 sec quarter miles with a proper tune

Holden fucked up. Big time. Youve got the SS, the SS Series II, the V8 Calais, the V8 Calais Director, the Statesman, the Senator, the Clubsport, the Clubsport R8, the Clubsport LSA R8, the GTS, the GTS LSA, the GTSR and ultimately the W1. And they're just the ones I know about, without including the Motorsport, Black and Craig Lowndes versions. They should have just had 4 versions. The Everyday Knockabout Guys V8(with MRC), the Holden Enthusiast V8 LSA, the SummerNats Devotee V8 Walkinshaw Enhanced GTS LSA, and ultimately the NRL Players and Overpaid Businessmans W1 LSA. Much easier to see which click you fall into, better bang for your buck and maybe they'd still be getting made here in Australia. 🇦🇺. Who knows.....

Those are all different specs The calais was "luxury" The Commodore was the standard car Went. evoke - sv6 - SS - ssv redline - Clubsport - GTS - gtsr and finally the gtsr w1 The calais was a different "model" line.

Buitifull car the w1. But if I was in the market for a super saloon I would buy a vxr8 Bathurst s for half the price. 560 bhp as standard , then take it to munkfish an get it tuned to 700 bhp.,,👍

In life we all have choices. An expensive car or very expensive car. I bought an immaculate 4 year old 50,000 km Holden SS Z UTE with 6ltr & 6 sp manual and with the change from not buying an expensive car I got a 12 year old Beneteau Cyclades 13 meter yacht which i live on in Philippines 4 months a year . My cost $142,000 for the 2. The Ute is great to drive especially in very hilly winding roads and the yacht a great way to live. Yacht came with a gorgeous 23 year old filipino girl . I learned 50 years ago that an expensive car is just an ego thing and life is much less expensive without them . Which one is the best. Who really cares. Its your money and your choice.

Ha!...ha! Wasn't the M6 faster to 100km/h and had a quicker 1/4 mile time?The track time was where the Holden scored a better time namely because it is more track orientated car than the M6 and the GTSR W1's Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tyres played a VERY big part in the track times.

The GTSR W1 had a slightly faster top speed across the 1/4 mile, which probably meant that it was more difficult to launch with the manual transmission, which also can't be shifted as fast as the BMW's auto.

MADD617 any performance car should have a manual nothing beats ripping through gears the BMW is confused is it a sports car or a cruiser.

I agree with you on that one, but they don't offer a manual because no one would actually go out and buy one. Only around 2.7% of M4s sold are manual, and that's more of a driver's car, whereas the M6 is a GT. It doesn't quite suit it's target market. At least an M5 should be offered with a manual, but even then, the amount of people who would buy one would be tiny.
