From seeing the comments the stock headlight is powered by ac power? Men I once putted a led on it and it worked for like 30 minutes till it stooped glowing. I tough it came with defect but now i guess I know why it didn't work.

Hi! Great video! I just installed this kit on my ktm, and noticed that the front and rear light stayed on for a few seconds. Is this a "feature" on the different reg/rec? 🤔 Thanks

Is that still the stock AC headlight?

Fantastic video, I always love your high quality installation videos. I've got this exact same bike. I am also wanting to install the trail tech 100w DC stator setup. I'm confused, isn't the stock headlight powered by AC power? The stock ktm stator splits between AC and DC power I thought? How is the headlight running on DC power only?
@ryanpetersonhardenduro13226 жыл бұрын
It the trail tech rectifier/regulator changes it to dc head light. If Ktm did this stock on the two stroke the headlights would drain the battery.
@brettcoop91496 жыл бұрын
No, not necessarily. The trail tech rectifier/regulator comes with a built in timer that shuts off the headlight in 30 seconds when the bike is powered off. Supposedly, you can also change this timer on the rectifier/regulator. From my understanding, the only thing the rectifier/regulator does is convert the AC power from the stator to DC. Therefore, you're using DC power directly from the battery. It doesn't do anything to the headlight..

Merry Christmas! Question: Is this the same for the 2019 KTM 300 XC upgrade? Thank you. Have a great rest of the year!

It should be the same, or very similar. To confirm I recommend contacting Trail Tech directly.

I hope someone sees this as i am in desperate need of help! I have 100w stator and regulator kit on my bike, but the previous owner cut off the plugs for it so i dont know which of the cables from the regulator that goes to the stator or wiring harness. Could someone please check which of their yellow wires goes to the plug and which of the others that have a push plug!

Unfortunately it's not my bike in the video so I don't have it for reference and can't do any measurements. I recommend that you contact Trail Tech and ask their tech support. I'm sure they'll help you out...

So far in our group we've learned these trail tech stators have a life expectancy of about 2 years before they blow.
@TokyoOffroad5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. That’s not good news. Roughly how many hours of riding is that? On my 2017 KTM 250 I’m still using the original stator (370H) with no problems so far.

@@TokyoOffroad Around here with our humidity and heat mostly all Bikes with the need fans added and most have seen battery drainage hence the upgrade. Bike had maybe caround 150 hours give or take.

my 2018 250 TPI has 3 bolts holding the stator to the case. Perhaps an upgrade they made for all of the 2018 250/300 2 strokes. Do you know the purpose of the two extra wires coming from the stator which get connected to the new regulator? I'm curious why that new regulator splices into the middle in this configuration.
@TokyoOffroad6 жыл бұрын
Interesting regarding the switch to 3 bolts. I'll check my 2019 250 TPI. When fitting the kit th change in wiring is required because the kit converts the stock bike's AC + DC power to a fully DC regulated 100W supply. For example the stock bike has the lights powered from AC and the turn signals, horn and CDI are DC.

No more AC current?
@TokyoOffroad6 жыл бұрын
No, 100% DC now. Originally the headlight ran off AC. Now it's DC you could fit an LED headlight without the need for an AC->DC converter if you wanted to.
