Given these numbers, my guess is head gasket failure between cylinders 1, 2 ( which are actually cylinders 2, 4 in firing order) or possibly a head / block crack between them. You need to do a leak down to see where the failure is, you'd know instantly if it's a failure between as you'd hear air hissing out of the adjacent cylinder.

Yes you are correct i told the customer at the time , he answer was i dont have the financial capacity to fix heads repair/replacement.

2017 GC with the 3.6. Mine only missfired at higher rpm on cylinder #2. It ended up being a defective (stuck open) VVL solenoid. It was literally 15 minutes to swap it out due to the intake being on the right side in the GC. I know it's not the exact same issue as you are having, but I wanted to share this info to help others.

I have the same issue. Cylinder 6 misfire and low compression. I didnt do the repair at the time and now i am burning oil bad.(smoking) Is something else now damaged? Or is it possibly just still fixing the head/a valve?

You will be better off getting a low mile engine en putting it in

I have a 2015 wrangler 4dr I bought new with 180K miles with never a problem. Always changed oil every 5k. I live in the high Rockies and very often pulling a small toy hauler at over 8000+ft. Not every 3.6 is a lemon.

Not all of them are but they do have cam, head cracking , oil cooler housing problem and a oil pump here and there

Unplug all coils you don't the engine to fire up when you doing this test, then you do one cylinder at a time.

Grtting 90psi on cylinder 6. No problems besides vibration. Dont know if its head gasket, piston rings, or valves.

Well what you can try its a blow down test, where you get that cylinder on TDC with spark plug out and the compression test hose on it with air supply to it , this will tell you which way the are its goin , if you hear it on the exhaust manifold it's the valve not closing or broken, if you hear it on the intake manifold same problem, if you take oil cap of and you hear it then its piston rings blowing through, and if radiator cap its off and you see bubbles then the problem its on the head gasket, anyways bads engine its cheaper to replace then fixing heads up.

Customer sold the car , but its more cost effective to replace the engine then to repair the heads , reason been heads may go bad again you will have to do everything all over again.

I bet it was just a bad oxygen censor and spark plugs

Well if you searched how a compression test its done , you have to remove the spark plug and check the different pressures between cylinders when cranking and if the difference between each or 1 cylinder its more the 30psi then you have a bad cylinder , meaning rings or bad valve.

one thing I learned about low compression is don't skip out on recommended radiator fluid flush intervals on time at least every 30k miles and make sure you the correct fluid

Did you solve it? My guess is if it’s not something simple and cheap like a spark plug, it’s a hefty fix. So I had this exact noise changed everything. It was the whol left cyclinder head from overheating. I got super lucky! If your jeep is a few days or months passed warrenty they have “the good will act” they split the fix with me 50:50.

@@samueltoth9479 well a spark plung has absolutely nothing to do with compression. In fact you need to remove the spark plug to run a cyclinder compression test. Out side of this it could technically be a piston ring or anything inside the cyclinder but most mechanic shops will tell you to replace the whole head.

@@Nastyhabitzit is on bank 2 cylinder 2 it is more then likely a bad exhaust valve or the valve seat in the head has a crack. It’s a known problem with the pentastar 3.6.
