my homie got this car, I think its cool and all with these features but. The engine itself with the drivetrain is a huge issue, front diff issues, overheating issues, go for the older jeeps especially those with the 4.0l I-6.

Not really completely on board with your tank/airplane analogy here, but I cant completely disagree either. Maybe to put it another way, if you are drinking the "its a Jeep thing" kool-aid, you don't care that the fuel economy is so brutally bad. Also, don't care that Chrysler's technology and development is lagging so far behind other auto makers, that their development is stuck in the 90's, and they aren't capable of producing the same mpg's in comparable vehicles that other auto makers are capable of. But again, at least its a Jeep thing!

Well, if you compare the Wrangler to the same class vehicle, which are not many on the market, i.e Toyota FJ, Nissan X-Terra, you'll be surprised my friend they actually are in about the same MPG range, about 15-16 mpg city, and 19-20 mpg road, for all of this class. So it's NOT a Jeep thing! If you compare an Wrangler with an RAV-4, then it's comparing apples to oranges. The Grand Cherokee is built on the exact same platform as Mercedes-Benz M- class, renamed Mercedes GLE (last Daimler gift to Chrysler before they got away...) and the MPG is very similar... If you compare small Jeeps to competition you'll see the same similar MPGs. Patriot / Compass is almost gone with the brand new Compass on the market, Renegade (Fiat 500x) is 100% no '90s technologies... Sorry, I'm not drinking any kool-aid, but you're in error, pure ans simple.

I got my 2009 wrangler sport for 15k used. She's got 109k miles and runs like a charm with normal maintenance. I love taking it to the beach and theres so many aftermarket parts made for them. I plan on driving it until she dies! Awesome and fun review. 10/10

The only thing wrong with it is it's not a manual. I drove my friend's mid 90's Jeep a few times with no doors or roof 10 years ago and I definitely have to say, I get it. It's stuck with me all these years as that alternate life I never lead but maybe still could in a mid life crisis?

If you love the top off and want to take it down at any point while having the freedom to pull it back up..i recommend a soft top. You can pull it back all by yourself as well

My '97 Grand Cherokee had those same back side of the steering wheel radio controls. Chrysler has been doing that for YEARS! I actually really liked them, to me they seemed much more natural to use then the controls on the front of the wheel.

Why JEEP doesn't install the side mirrors to the A pillars or the side panels, just above the SAHARA sticker? If so, you would be able to remove the doors and still keep the safety of having the mirrors. Or maybe, made them removable from the door and reattach to that screws on the side. ^.^

They are removeable. These guys just did not know it. You can remove the mirrors and install it after you took out the door

Jon Moore I bought a 2 door wrangler. I definitely lost cargo space,,,,on the 2 wrangler you can remove the entire back seat, on a 4 door it only folds down... hope this helps you.

I've got a '97 TJ and a '17 JK. It's a great vehicle with a few exceptions, one of which you encountered. 20 minutes to take the top and doors off, 15 minutes to drive to work, another 20 minutes to put it back on? I don't think so.
